Romeo was driving. Hunter sat in the passenger seat, scrolling through his phone, while Bianca sat quietly in the back.

Romeoโ€™s eyes lifted to the rearview mirror without him even realizing it. Bianca was leaning against the seat, looking out the window.

When their eyes met in the mirror, she didnโ€™t look away. Instead, she smiled faintly, then turned back to the passing view.

Romeoโ€™s hand tightened on the wheel. He looked back at the road, then glanced at the mirror again.

Hunter noticed the silence stretching longer than usual. He shifted in his seat, glanced at Romeo, then checked the mirror and caught Biancaโ€™s reflection.

Something was off.

โ€œUmโ€ฆ Romeo, can you drive faster?โ€ Hunter said.

Romeo rolled his eyes.

He pressed harder on the accelerator anyway, his focus returning to the road, though his mind clearly wasnโ€™t there.

[๐‘๐˜๐”๐Š๐€๐ˆ]

Aizawaโ€™s men had already flooded the compound.

Some scaled the fence, others rammed the gates, boots hitting gravel as gunfire erupted almost immediately. The air filled with the sound of automatic rifles.

Romeoโ€™s men, positioned along the walls and towers, responded without hesitation, mowing them down as they poured in.

Bodies hit the ground. More men replaced them.

The gates finally burst open and the firefight intensified.

Thenโ€”

Romeoโ€™s car tore through the smoke and chaos, forcing its way straight into the courtyard.

Brakes screeched.

The moment the engine cut off, the shooting stopped.

Not gradually. Instantly.

Romeoโ€™s men froze with fingers still on triggers. Aizawaโ€™s men halted mid-aim, confused, tense.

The car doors opened.

Romeo stepped out first.

Hunter followed, alert, hand already near his gun.
Bianca stepped out last, composed, eyes scanning the scene.

โ€œThey really did have the guts to send their men here.โ€Bianca scoffed.

For a split second, no one moved.

Then guns were raised again.

Aizawaโ€™s men aimed directly at the three of them.

โ€œI thought boss said Romeo wouldn’t be here.โ€ One of Aizawa’s men panicked.

Romeoโ€™s men immediately turned their weapons on Aizawaโ€™s soldiers, forming a tight protective line behind their boss.

One wrong move and the courtyard would explode again.

Romeo stood in the center of it all, unbothered. He adjusted his jacket slowly, eyes lifting to meet the men pointing guns at him.

โ€œYou all have the guts to actually show your face here? Didnโ€™t anyone lecture you on who youโ€™re messing with?โ€ Romeo chuckled, low and calm.

The moment his voice carried across the yard, the atmosphere changed.

Aizawaโ€™s men froze.

They still had their guns raised, fingers tight on the triggers, but none of them moved. A few swallowed hard. One manโ€™s arm trembled despite his effort to steady it.

They knew that laugh. Everyone in the underworld did. It meant the fight was already over.

Their eyes darted between Romeo, Hunter, and Bianca, then to Romeoโ€™s men surrounding the area.

No one wanted to be the first to shoot. No one wanted to be the one who made the wrong decision.

โ€œBoss,โ€ one of Romeoโ€™s men said, stepping forward slightly. โ€œWhat should we do with them?โ€

Romeo glanced around lazily, taking in the bodies already on the ground, the blood pooling near the gates, the silence hanging thick in the air.

โ€œJust let them go,โ€ he said.

There was a brief pause, disbelief flashing across Aizawaโ€™s menโ€™s faces.

Romeoโ€™s men lowered their guns.

That was all it took.

Aizawaโ€™s men broke. They turned and ran, boots pounding against concrete as they rushed toward the cars lined up outside the compound.

Doors flew open. Engines roared to life. Tires screeched as they sped off in a desperate line, not looking back.

Less than thirty seconds later, Bianca lifted the small remote in her hand and pressed the button.

The explosions hit almost at once.

Fire tore through the line of cars ahead. Metal twisted. Shockwaves rolled back toward the gates. The night lit up, then settled into smoke and flames.

โ€œThat old man really has audacity,โ€ Hunter muttered.

Romeo turned slowly, scanning the yard. As expected, the bodies left behind were all Aizawaโ€™s men. None of his own.

โ€œHunter,โ€ Romeo said calmly, โ€œfind your way home. Bianca, letโ€™s go.โ€

โ€œBro,โ€ Hunter started, shaking his head, but Romeo was already walking away.

Bianca followed without a word.

They reached the car. Romeo opened the driverโ€™s door and slid in. Bianca took the passenger seat, smoothing her dress as she shut the door.

The engine started, and he drove off.

[๐๐ข๐š๐ง๐œ๐š’๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐๐จ]

Romeoโ€™s car rolled to a smooth stop in front of Biancaโ€™s condo. The engine went quiet, and they stepped out together before the door shut.

โ€œWant to come in?โ€ she asked, already turning toward the entrance.

He nodded and followed.

Inside, Bianca slipped off her heels the moment the door closed, setting them aside. Without them, she barely reached his shoulder now.

She moved toward the kitchen, nerves showing in the way her fingers fidgeted.

โ€œDo you want anything? Water?โ€ she asked, already walking away.

Romeo caught her wrist and pulled her back.

โ€œI wonโ€™t stay long,โ€ he said. โ€œItโ€™s late.โ€

โ€œSure,โ€ she replied, avoiding his eyes as if they might give her away.

He studied her face. โ€œYou donโ€™t look happy. Is there a problem?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not that,โ€ Bianca said quickly. Then she took his hand, holding it like she needed it.

โ€œI justโ€ฆ I donโ€™t know how Iโ€™m supposed to feel. You said you love me, but I donโ€™t know what that means right now. You have a wife. Your families approved everything. I feel like a third wheel.โ€

He let out a short chuckle, low and quiet.

โ€œAre you being insecure right now?โ€ he asked.

She lifted her chin slightly. โ€œCanโ€™t I be?โ€

His hand came up to her hair, fingers moving slowly through it, calming, familiar. His touch made her shoulders relax before she could stop it.

โ€œDo you trust me?โ€ he asked.

She nodded without hesitation.

โ€œGood,โ€ he said. โ€œThen donโ€™t think about my marriage..โ€

She nodded again, still holding his hand, her grip tightening just a little.

โ€œIโ€™d like you to do something for me. Youโ€™re really smart at fishing things out,โ€ he said.

Bianca looked up at him. โ€œWhat is it?โ€

โ€œDiana. I want you to see if you can find a clue on where she is.โ€

Her brows pulled together. โ€œItโ€™s been seventeen years since she disappeared. Finding her is almost impossible. Thatโ€™s if sheโ€™s even alive.โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s alive,โ€ Romeo said without hesitation. โ€œAnd Iโ€™m pretty sure Haru knows where his mother is.โ€

Bianca studied his face, searching for doubt, but there was none. Only certainty.

โ€œOkay,โ€ she said quietly. โ€œIโ€™ll see what I can do.โ€

He nodded once, satisfied.

โ€œSleep well,โ€ He said, leaning in and pressing a slow, soft kiss to her lips.

โ€œI willโ€ฆ you too,โ€ She replied, her voice dipping. โ€œBabe.โ€

He smiled at that. Her face softened instantly, like sheโ€™d been waiting for that small curve of his lips.

She lifted both hands, cupping his face, her thumbs brushing his jaw.

โ€œYour smile is so pretty,โ€ she said, smiling as she kissed his cheek.

โ€œYouโ€™re the only one seeing it,โ€ He murmured, his hand coming up to stroke her hair, fingers lingering longer than necessary.

โ€œIโ€™ll go ahead now,โ€ he said, though neither of them moved immediately.

Bianca watched him turn toward the door, the quiet settling in after him.

When it closed behind his back, she stood there for a moment, hand still warm from where heโ€™d touched her, already knowing sleep wouldnโ€™t come easily tonight.

Rias was in the living room, coffee untouched in her hand as she paced back and forth. The sound of the door opening made her turn instantly.

Romeo stepped in.

She rushed to him without thinking.

โ€œYouโ€™reโ€ฆ home.โ€Her voice faltered when her eyes landed on his cheek.

A lipstick mark.

Romeo caught the pause, the way her gaze lingered, just a little.

โ€œWere you waiting for me?โ€ he asked.

โ€œYes. I wanted us to talk.โ€

โ€œRias, Iโ€™m not in the mood to argue.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not trying to start an argument.โ€

โ€œOh, thatโ€™s new.โ€

She took a breath, steadying herself. โ€œWho was it that wanted me dead?โ€

He stopped moving.

โ€œWhere did you get that idea?โ€

โ€œHunter told me. I asked Tiago too, but he wouldnโ€™t say anything.โ€ Her grip tightened around the coffee mug. โ€œThe bullet you tookโ€ฆ it was meant for me.โ€

A second passed.

โ€œYes,โ€ he said quietly. โ€œSomeone tried to kill you.โ€

Her eyes flashed. โ€œThen why would you keep that from me? Youโ€™re still treating me like a kid. Iโ€™m supposed to know whatโ€™s going on.โ€

He exhaled slowly. โ€œIf I tell you, would you listen and stay away from him?โ€

โ€œWhat do youโ€”โ€

โ€œYou really think Yuki wouldnโ€™t want you dead for messing around with her husband?โ€

โ€œYuki?โ€

He didnโ€™t wait for her to respond. โ€œJust be careful.โ€

He moved to walk past her.

โ€œThatโ€™s all?โ€ she asked, turning. โ€œYou wonโ€™t yell at me for still seeing Haru? Or for trying to go out with him?โ€

He stopped and turned back, his expression unreadable.

โ€œYouโ€™re old enough to do what you want,โ€ He said. โ€œIsnโ€™t that what we always argue about? That Iโ€™m too controlling?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re trying to make it sound like Iโ€™m the bad person here.โ€

โ€œWell, am I ?โ€ He shot back. โ€œYouโ€™re the one who keeps pissing me off and then getting overly sensitive.โ€

She sighed, shoulders dropping.

โ€œJust be careful,โ€ He continued, his tone calmer now.

โ€œAnd inform me of your whereabouts whenever you leave. Itโ€™s easier to protect you when I know where you are. Thatโ€™s why I enforced the rule in the first placeโ€ฆ but you can forget about that.โ€

โ€œOh,โ€ She murmured, unsure whether that was freedom or something worse.

โ€œIs it true? That youโ€™re really part of a Yakuza?โ€ she had asked, her voice quieter than she expected, almost hesitant.

โ€œWho told you?โ€ he replied, his tone calm, almost teasing, but his eyes sharp.

โ€œI called Grandpa a while ago and he finally told me everything,โ€ she said, folding her arms, trying to sound casual.

โ€œWell, now you know,โ€ he said, glancing at her briefly before turning to walk away, the confidence in his stride undeniable.

Rias hesitated. โ€œMy curfewโ€ฆ can you just remove that?โ€ she asked, hopeful.

He paused for a moment, looking back at her over his shoulder, his expression unreadable. Then he nodded.

โ€œOkay, as long as youโ€™re careful.โ€

And with that, he continued walking, leaving her alone in the living room.

Riasโ€™s gaze dropped to the floor,, replaying the image in her head. Was that lipstick on his cheek? Bianca? she murmured, her heart skipping a beat.

She felt a mix of irritation and jealousy.

โ€œCan’t believe he gets to have fun, but not me?โ€Rias scoffed.

โ€œWell at least, there’s no rules binding us again.โ€She chuckled.

The school courtyard buzzed with energy, a cacophony of voices, laughter, and camera clicks filling the air.

Sky, arriving early for his first class after his album release, was immediately swarmed by fans holding flowers, letters, and meticulously wrapped gifts.

The schoolโ€™s security staff worked tirelessly, carrying away the growing pile of presents while keeping the crowd at bay.

โ€œI love you, Sky! Your album is everything!โ€ one fan shouted, holding a bouquet.

โ€œIโ€™ll keep streaming every song on repeat! You deserve all the love!โ€ another called, waving her handmade banner.

Sky smiled warmly, crouching to take pictures with students, laughing at their jokes and posing for selfies.

Each interaction seemed effortless, his charm naturally drawing people to him.

From a distance, Nancy stood with Ginger by her side, holding her own neatly wrapped gift. She hesitated, twisting the ribbon nervously between her fingers.

โ€œWonโ€™t you give him your gift?โ€ Ginger whispered, nudging her.

โ€œIโ€ฆ Iโ€™m having second thoughts,โ€ Nancy murmured, her eyes flicking toward Sky as he posed with another group of fans.

โ€œGoodness, girl, youโ€™re being too much,โ€ Ginger said, exasperated but amused.

Nancy tightened her grip on the gift.

โ€œIโ€™ll give it to him in private,โ€ she said softly, determination threading her voice, even as her heart raced at the thought.

Skyโ€™s laughter rang out across the courtyard, bright and magnetic, making Nancyโ€™s resolve wobble.

–Private Classroom–

The classroom was quiet, the hum of the air conditioning the only sound as Sky sat at a desk.

His phone sat beside him, silent, and his mind wandered anxiously. Emma hadnโ€™t called or texted him in hours.

Not even a โ€œgood luckโ€ for his albumโ€™s release.

โ€œCโ€™mon, Emmaโ€ฆโ€ He muttered under his breath, biting his lip.

The door creaked open slowly, and Sky looked up. A familiar figure stepped in, holding something carefully in her hands.

โ€œHi,โ€ Nancy said softly, a small smile on her face.

โ€œNancy?โ€ he asked, surprised.

She approached his desk, holding a neatly wrapped gift.

โ€œCongratulations on your album,โ€ She said, placing it gently in front of him.

โ€œThanks,โ€ Sky replied, taking the gift, glancing at her curiously.

โ€œYouโ€ฆ were having second thoughts about giving it?โ€ he asked, his brow furrowed.

Nancy nodded faintly, chewing on her lower lip.

Sky shook his head.

Nancy set down the gift and reached into her bag, pulling out her tablet.

โ€œFor our project,โ€ She said, sitting across from him, โ€œI wrote some lyrics.โ€

She handed the tablet to him, her fingers brushing his as he took it.

Sky opened it and scrolled through the words.

The lyrics were neat, organized, and full of emotion. It read:

โ€ขโ€ข

Every time I see you, my heart skips a beat
Even when youโ€™re far away, your presence I seek
I thought I could play it cool, hide whatโ€™s inside
But these feelings for you, I no longer can hide

Iโ€™ll write your name in every line, every song
Youโ€™ve been the muse Iโ€™ve waited for so long
Even if the world says we canโ€™t be
My heart belongs to you endlessly

โ€ขโ€ข

Skyโ€™s eyes lingered on the words, his fingers hovering over the tablet. A slow smile spread across his face.

The song wasnโ€™t just wordsโ€”it was emotion, raw and sincere.

โ€œThisโ€ฆ this is really good,โ€ He said finally, looking up at her. โ€œItโ€™sโ€ฆ beautiful. The way you put all this into wordsโ€”itโ€™s like I can feel everything you were thinking when you wrote it.โ€

Nancyโ€™s cheeks warmed slightly.

โ€œYouโ€ฆ really like it?โ€ she asked quietly, hope threading her voice.

Sky nodded. โ€œYeahโ€ฆ I do. A lot.โ€

She let out a small, relieved laugh, the tension easing from her shoulders.

โ€œIโ€ฆ I just wanted it to be honest,โ€ she said softly.

He shook his head already knowing she had him in mind when she wrote it. This girl is funny.

Nancy slid the tablet back into her bag, glancing down at her phone as it lit up.

Levi: You busy? I’m going to the studio later, wanna come?

Sky noticed the notification, his eyes narrowing slightly. He stayed silent, watching her hands move.

Nancy quickly typed a reply and dropped her phone back into her bag.

Sky didnโ€™t say anything at first. After a long moment,

โ€œYou and Leviโ€ฆ are close now?โ€he asked quietly,

Nancy looked up, slightly startled by the tone.

โ€œUmโ€ฆ heโ€™s a friend. Heโ€™s nice to me,โ€ she said softly, trying to sound casual.

Sky didnโ€™t respond. He leaned back in his chair, shutting his eyes, his fist tightening just slightly.

Nancy, feeling the tension, leaned forward, her face closer to his.

Nancyโ€™s face hovered a little closer to Skyโ€™s, her eyes tracing the sharp line of his jaw, the curve of his lips, the intensity in his expression.

She leaned in slightly, unconsciously drawn to him, admiring him in silence.

At the same time, Sky shifted in his chair, leaning forward without thinking, his eyes closed, his mind somewhere else entirely. And thenโ€”

Their lips collided.

It was sudden, unplanned. Skyโ€™s eyes flew open in shock as he realized what had happened.

Nancy froze, her eyes wide, heart racing. The kiss was brief but electric, a spark neither of them had anticipated.

Nancy pulled back immediately, fumbling with her bag. โ€œIโ€ฆ Iโ€™m so sorry, Skyโ€ฆ Iโ€”โ€

She bolted for the door, cheeks flushed and hands trembling.

Sky stayed still for a moment, his fingers instinctively touching his lips, tracing the spot where hers had met his.

His chest was pounding, sweat forming at his temples.

His mind was spinning, confusion and something deeper, something he didnโ€™t fully understand settling in his chest.

He whispered to himself, half in disbelief, half frustration.

โ€œWhatโ€ฆ just happened?โ€

His gaze remained fixed on the empty doorway, the image of her so close, refusing to leave his mind.

[๐‡๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ’๐ฌ ๐•๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š]

The clink of metal echoed through the gym as Hunter pushed through another rep, sweat rolling down his temples.

His muscles flexed under the harsh lights, focus locked inโ€”until Sashaโ€™s voice cut through the rhythm.

โ€œSo,โ€ She said, arms folded as she leaned against the wall, โ€œ…mind telling me where you were last night? You came home really late. I came here thinking youโ€™d be around.โ€

Hunter finished the set, breathing steady. โ€œI was out with Romeo.โ€

Her brows lifted. โ€œWhere?โ€

He racked the weights with a dull thud and turned to her. She handed him a bottle of water.

He took it, twisted the cap, and drank slowly, eyes never leaving hers.

โ€œDo you really want to know?โ€ he asked.

She nodded, lips forming a small pout. โ€œYes.โ€

He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. โ€œIt wasnโ€™t a place youโ€™d like.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not an answer,โ€ she said, stepping closer. โ€œTry again.โ€

Hunter took another sip, then lowered the bottle.

“Romeo and I are in a Yakuza.” Hunter said.

She gasped, eyes widening.

“You’re joking,” she whispered, taking a small step back.

“Grandpa Rafael and Romeoโ€™s parents were part of it too, but theyโ€™re retired. So basicallyโ€ฆ Romeo and I are in charge.” He said, calm, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

Sasha stumbled back, her heart racing.

“Soโ€ฆ thatโ€™s why you have a gun?” she asked, voice trembling.

“Yeah.” He nodded, unconcerned.

“And you didnโ€™t think to tell me?” she added, fear creeping into her tone.

“I just met you in person,” he said, stepping closer, “…you think Iโ€™d tell you that? So youโ€™d run away from me? Nah.”

Her hands flew to her chest.

“Y-youโ€™reโ€ฆ serious,” she stammered, wide-eyed, taking another step back.

Hunterโ€™s expression softened as he reached for her, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

“Donโ€™t worry,” he said quietly, his voice low and steady. “Nothingโ€™s going to happen to you.”

Sashaโ€™s fear mixed with something elseโ€”her chest tightened, her cheeks flushed. She didnโ€™t move when he leaned in, pressing his lips gently against hers.

She froze, heart hammering, feeling the warmth of him close, the unexpected tenderness against the danger he carried.

When he pulled back just slightly, his eyes locked with hers.

“I won’t let anything happen to you,” he murmured, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. “Such a cutie.”

Her fingers instinctively went to her lips, still tingling from the kiss.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

He took it out from his pocket and Sasha caught a glimpse of the caller.

BILLIE ๐Ÿ˜’

He answered the call, connecting it to his earphones and wore it.

Hunter — What is it?

Billie — Let’s meet up, I know you’re back in Tokyo.

Hunter — And?

Billie — Let’s meet at the usual hotel, 8pm.

He hung up.

“Who was that?” She asked.

“No one important.” He dismissed immediately.

She nodded.

The headquarters of the Jaguar Clan was thick with smoke and the stench of burnt gunpowder.

Aizawaโ€™s face was red, veins bulging as he paced in front of Kai, fury radiating from every movement.

โ€œHowโ€ฆ how could you fail at such a simple mission?!โ€ Aizawa bellowed, slamming his fist against the table. โ€œBoth you and Mio shamelessly outsmarted ! Do you even realize how much we lost today?!โ€

Kaiโ€™s jaw was tight, his expression unreadable, but his voice steady.

โ€œMioโ€ฆ she didnโ€™t stand a chance against Hunter. Heโ€™s too strong. There was nothing she could do.โ€

Aizawaโ€™s eyes narrowed dangerously, his nostrils flaring.

โ€œAnd the men? The rest of our men? why werenโ€™t they properly overseen? Where was your plan, Kai? You had everything to work with, yet you sent them to die like lambs!โ€

Kaiโ€™s hands clenched at his sides. โ€œIโ€ฆ I did what I could. I miscalculated the plan I set for them. It wasnโ€™t supposed to go this way.โ€

Aizawa took a step closer, the air around him seeming to crackle with anger.

โ€œMiscalculated? Miscalculated?! Do you know how much men we lost? You donโ€™t just โ€˜miscalculateโ€™ against Romeo!!โ€

Kaiโ€™s throat tightened. โ€œI knowโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll make it right. Iโ€™llโ€”โ€

โ€œMake it right?!โ€ Aizawa shouted over him, pointing a trembling finger.

โ€œThereโ€™s no โ€˜making it rightโ€™! Do you even understand the humiliation this brings? This was your responsibility, Kai!โ€

Kai swallowed hard, trying to contain his anger and shame. โ€œIโ€ฆ I wonโ€™t fail again. I swearโ€”โ€

โ€œThere’s nothing like again. You must be stupid to actually think you’d stand a chance against Romeo.โ€ Aizawa said.

Kai clenched his fists.

The phone rang twice before Rias picked up, her voice light, almost teasing.

โ€œHelloโ€ฆ Haru?โ€

โ€œHeyโ€ฆ are you free tomorrow? I was thinking we could meet up.โ€ His tone was low, deliberate, carrying a tension only she could recognize.

Rias hummed softly, letting her voice drop an octave, playful. โ€œMmmโ€ฆ I think I can make some time for you…You know I like surprises.โ€

Haru chuckled, his grip on the phone tightening. โ€œYou always find a way to make meโ€ฆ impatient.โ€

She giggled, leaning her head against the wall. โ€œGood. I like that about you. Makes me feel special.โ€

A pause. She tilted her voice, softening it like she was a victim in need of protection. โ€œHaruโ€ฆ you should warn your wife.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ he said sharply, suspicion and rising anger threading through his voice.

โ€œSheโ€ฆ she tried toโ€ฆ she tried to kill me.โ€ Rias said slowly, dragging out each word, letting it sink in.

Her tone was almost innocent, cute, trembling slightly to ignite his protective rage.

Haruโ€™s jaw tightened, the muscles in his neck tensing. โ€œWhatโ€ฆ what did she do?โ€

Rias pouted over the phone, sighing softly. โ€œOh, you knowโ€ฆ she sent someone to kill me, I was almost shot. I guess she still isn’t happy with me being around you. Poor me, right?โ€

Haruโ€™s hands tightened into fists, the anger in his chest flaring.

โ€œThatโ€ฆ Yukiโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll deal with her.โ€ His voice was dangerously low, laced with fury.

Rias giggled again, playful and teasing. โ€œDonโ€™t worryโ€ฆ Iโ€™m fine. But you should keep an eye on herโ€ฆ you knowโ€ฆ your psychopathic wife.โ€

Haruโ€™s lips pressed into a thin line, his breathing deepening. โ€œIโ€™ll make sure she regrets even thinking about hurting you.โ€

Rias purred softly into the phone.

โ€œGoodโ€ฆ I like it when you sound protective.โ€ She let the words linger.

Haru growled softly, the raw heat of possessive anger evident in his tone.

Rias leaned back, smiling to herself, before ending the call. โ€œSee you tomorrow, handsome. Donโ€™t be late.โ€

The line clicked dead, leaving Haru gripping the phone, his jaw tight, eyes blazing with furyโ€”and a desire to protect her he couldnโ€™t hide.

—–

The door to Haruโ€™s study flew open with a sharp bang.

His footsteps echoed down the hallway, fast and furious,. The air around him felt heavy, charged, like something was about to snap.

Yuki was stretched across the bed in their room, phone in hand, scrolling lazily, one leg crossed over the other. She didnโ€™t even look up when he entered.

Until the mattress shifted violently.

Her phone slipped from her fingers.

Before she could react, Haruโ€™s hand was in her hair, fisting it tightly, yanking her upright and dragging her off the bed.

She gasped, fingers clawing at his wrist as her feet barely caught the floor.

โ€œWhat the hell is wrong with you?!โ€ Yuki snapped, pain flashing across her face. โ€œHave you lost your fucking mind?!โ€

Haru didnโ€™t answer immediately. His breathing was uneven, eyes dark, fist clenched so hard it trembled.

โ€œDid you,โ€ He said slowly, dangerously calm, โ€œ…send someone to kill Rias?โ€

Yuki froze for half a second.

Then she laughed.

A short, sharp laugh full of contempt.

โ€œOh,โ€ She scoffed, straightening as much as his grip allowed. โ€œAnd so what if I did?โ€

The words hit him like a match to gasoline.

โ€œSo itโ€™s true,โ€ Haru said, his voice dropping. โ€œYou really did it.โ€

Yuki yanked her arm free and shoved him back, fury blazing in her eyes.

โ€œWhy are you acting like this? Over her?โ€ She shouted. โ€œWhat is it about that girl that makes you lose all sense?โ€

She stepped closer now, jabbing a finger into his chest.

โ€œSheโ€™s using you, Haru. Canโ€™t you see that? She doesnโ€™t care about you, sheโ€™s just playing you. And you…โ€ her voice cracked with rage.

โ€œ….youโ€™re throwing everything away for her.โ€

He said nothing.

โ€œYouโ€™re wasting your time,โ€ Yuki continued, voice rising. โ€œYou have a family. I am your wife. We have a daughter, Haru. Or have you forgotten that too?โ€

That did it.

The slap came fast.

The sound cracked through the room, sharp and shocking.

Yuki staggered back, her hand flying to her cheek, eyes wideโ€”not with pain, but disbelief.

โ€œYou hit me?โ€ she whispered.

Haruโ€™s chest heaved.

โ€œYouโ€™re choosing her over us?โ€ Yuki screamed. โ€œOver your own blood?โ€

โ€œWell she’s not the one with a filthy attitude, you just tried to commit murder!โ€ Haru shot back.

Yuki laughed again, but this time it was hysterical. โ€œI did it for you. To get rid of the problem. To protect whatโ€™s mine.โ€

He grabbed her again, shoving her back hard, his voice shaking with rage. โ€œStay away from her. You hear me? You donโ€™t get go near Rias again.โ€

โ€œOr what?โ€ she challenged, tears burning in her eyes.

He didnโ€™t answer.

Instead, he struck his fist into her ribs, this time fueled by months of resentment, guilt, and obsession heโ€™d refused to face.

Yuki cried out, stumbling, trying to fight back, nails scratching, fists swingingโ€”but he was stronger, angrier, completely unrestrained.

โ€œDonโ€™t touch her,โ€ He snarled. โ€œDonโ€™t even think about her, you get it?!โ€

A small gasp came from the doorway.

โ€œMommyโ€ฆ Daddyโ€ฆโ€

Both of them froze.

Yukiโ€™s breath hitched as she turned. Bella stood at the doorway, her little hands clutching the hem of her floral gown, eyes wide.

She took one look at her motherโ€™s tear-streaked face, the way Yukiโ€™s body trembled, the redness blooming on her skinโ€”and she gasped.

โ€œM-Mommyโ€ฆ?โ€ Her voice cracked.

Yuki didnโ€™t even think. She dropped to her knees and pulled Bella into her arms, shielding her instinctively, her own body curling around her daughter.

Bella burst into tears.

โ€œDaddy, why are you hitting Mommy?โ€ she cried, her tiny fists pounding weakly against Yukiโ€™s chest as she sobbed.

Haru stood there, chest heaving, fists clenched so tight his knuckles were white.

His eyes flickered with something close to regret, but it was drowned by anger and chaos.

โ€œBella…โ€ He reached out.

She shoved his hand away with all the strength her little body could muster.

โ€œDonโ€™t touch me!โ€ She cried, shaking. โ€œDonโ€™t touch Mommy!โ€

That stopped him.

Haru staggered back a step, dragging a hand through his hair roughly, his breathing uneven.

He looked away, like he couldnโ€™t stand the sight of what heโ€™d done reflected in his daughterโ€™s eyes.

Yuki rocked Bella gently, pressing her lips into her hair, whispering broken reassurances through her tears.

โ€œItโ€™s okayโ€ฆ Mommyโ€™s okayโ€ฆ Iโ€™m hereโ€ฆ Iโ€™m hereโ€ฆโ€

Bella clung to her, sobbing harder.

โ€œPlease, Daddy,โ€ Bella begged through hiccups. โ€œPlease donโ€™t hit Mommy again. Pleaseโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll be good. I promise.โ€

The words hit him real hard.

Haru squeezed his eyes shut, turning his face away as if that alone could erase the moment.

Slowly, Haru lowered himself to his knees in front of her, the anger draining from his face, replaced by something raw and shaken.

His hands hovered in the air, unsure, before settling gently on her shoulders.

โ€œIโ€™mโ€ฆ Iโ€™m sorry, baby,โ€ he said, his voice rough, barely holding together. โ€œDaddyโ€™s sorry. I shouldnโ€™t have yelled. I shouldnโ€™t have scared you.โ€

Bella sniffed, her tiny fists clutching the front of her dress. โ€œYou made Mommy cry,โ€ she sobbed. โ€œI donโ€™t like it when you hurt her.โ€

Yuki pulled Bella into her arms immediately, holding her tight, rocking her as if she could shield her from everything.

Her own tears soaked into Bellaโ€™s hair as she kissed her forehead over and over.

Bella peeked over Yukiโ€™s shoulder at Haru, her lips trembling.

โ€œDaddyโ€ฆ hug Mommy,โ€ she said softly, like it was a rule that could fix everything.

Haru hesitated.

Then he stood, stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around Yuki and Bella together.

His embrace was firm, almost too tight, his hand pressing against Yukiโ€™s back as Bella stayed between them.

Yuki stiffened for half a second before holding Bella closer.

Haru lowered his head, his lips brushing near Yukiโ€™s ear as his voice dropped into something only she could hear.

โ€œIโ€™m not done with you.โ€

Yukiโ€™s fingers curled into Bellaโ€™s sleeve, her body tense, her heart pounding but she didnโ€™t pull away.

Bella hugged them both, believing, for that moment, that everything was fixed.

Bianca moved silently down the dimly lit corridors, her janitor disguise perfectโ€”baggy overalls, mop in hand, a cap pulled low over her face.

Every step was calculated, careful not to draw suspicion.

She had waited for the right moment, for Haruโ€™s secretary to leave her office for the night. Timing was everything.

The faint click of the office door locking behind the secretary was her cue.

Reaching the door, Bianca quickly retrieved the pass key she had stolen earlier, sliding it into the lock. The door opened with a soft click.

She paused for a moment at the threshold, taking in the quiet emptiness of the office. The lights were dim, the room still smelling faintly of polished wood and expensive cologne.

She stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

She moved further into the office, ready to find exactly what she had come for.

Bianca slid into Haruโ€™s leather chair, the subtle creak of the material barely audible in the silent office.

She placed her small hacking device onto his laptop, fingers working quickly and efficiently.

The screen flickered for a moment, then she was inโ€”full access.

She opened his email first, scanning through messages with precision.

Her eyes caught a pattern almost immediately: his credit card was being used at the same location at a precise time each month. It was in Osaka.

She searched for location duration on the laptop.

Apparently, Tokyo to Osaka..

By train (Shinkansen): ~2.5 to 3 hours.
By car: ~6-7 hours (depends on traffic)
By plane: ~1 hour (flight time), plus airport time .

Noting the detail, she quickly printed the email on the printer beside her.

โ€œRomeo was actually right, you probably know where your mom is.โ€ She smirked.

Next, she checked his calendar, confirming her suspicions. The same date this month had a timer setโ€”Haruโ€™s pattern was consistent and predictable.

She jotted down the details mentally, making sure nothing was overlooked.

Satisfied, she removed the device, shut the laptop, and quietly slipped out of the office, leaving no trace of her intrusion.

Once safely outside, she pulled out her phone and dialed.

โ€œBabe..,โ€ she said, her voice low but excited. โ€œIโ€™m on my way over. Got some interesting news.โ€

Romeo dropped his phone, leaned back against the cool stone wall of the cellar, swirling the dark liquid in his glass.

The dim light caught his sharp features, making him look even more intense than usual.

โ€œI still canโ€™t believe you and Bianca would eventually start dating. I thought you were going to reject her,โ€ Hunter said, shaking his head in disbelief.

โ€œI wasnโ€™t going to,โ€ Romeo replied, his voice calm but firm. โ€œEven if she asked me earlier, my answer wouldโ€™ve been the same.โ€

Hunter raised an eyebrow, leaning forward slightly. โ€œDo you really love her?โ€

Romeoโ€™s gaze drifted to the glass in his hand before locking onto Hunter. โ€œDoes it look like I donโ€™t?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t know,โ€ Hunter admitted.

โ€œI took a long while to think it over,โ€ Romeo continued, voice quieter now, more reflective.

โ€œBianca and I have been together for years. I know the kind of person I amโ€”difficult, stubborn, hard to read. But you already know I wasnโ€™t ever unfair to her. Maybe harsh at timesโ€ฆ especially when she tried to call me โ€˜babe.โ€™ I didnโ€™t want to admit it, even to myself, but I was afraid I was actually in love with her.โ€ He paused, taking a steady sip.

โ€œSo yes, I love Bianca. I care about her and sheโ€™s important to me.โ€

Hunter was quiet for a moment, processing. โ€œAnd Rias? How do you feel about her?โ€

Romeo let out a short, humorless chuckle. โ€œBroโ€ฆ Rias is like my female version. Difficult, stubborn, always pushing me to the edge. I donโ€™t feel anything for herโ€ฆ we just fight constantly.โ€

Hunter tilted his head. โ€œBut itโ€™s not like you hate her either, right?โ€

Romeoโ€™s eyes softened just a fraction, almost imperceptibly. โ€œNoโ€ฆ not hate. I don’t hate Rias.โ€

Rias came out of her room and checked Romeo room. She wanted to go out with Sasha and would be home late so she wanted to tell him.

Rias stepped softly down the stairs, her curiosity piqued. She hadnโ€™t expected anyone else to be in the house at this hour.

As she neared the living room, muffled voices reached her ears, and she froze.

โ€œHunter is here?โ€ She whispered to herself, stepping closer.

From around the corner, she caught sight of Romeo and Hunter, sitting near the bar, deep in conversation.

โ€œBut your parents will be really pissed at you,โ€ Hunter said, leaning against the counter.

โ€œLike Iโ€™d listen to them,โ€ Romeo replied casually, his tone indifferent, yet there was a sharpness behind it.

Hunter frowned. โ€œSo what are you going to do? You canโ€™t date Bianca and be married to Rias. Thatโ€™s hypocrisy, especially after you told Rias not to associate with Haru.โ€

โ€œI know,โ€ Romeo admitted, taking a slow sip from his glass. โ€œBut associating with Haru wonโ€™t do her any good.โ€

โ€œAnd you canโ€™t divorce Rias either,โ€ Hunter pressed.

Romeo shrugged. โ€œWho said anything about divorce? I know I canโ€™t divorce Rias, so Iโ€™m not going to stress myself with it.โ€

Hunterโ€™s brow furrowed. โ€œSo what are you going to do? You canโ€™t just keep Bianca aside if you love her. Itโ€™d be unfair to her.โ€

Romeoโ€™s expression darkened for a moment, thoughtful. โ€œIโ€™m thinking of talking to Grandpa personally about the marriage. If he refuses to call it off, then Iโ€™ll just go with plan B.โ€

โ€œPlan B?โ€ Hunter asked, suspicious.

โ€œIโ€™ll marry Bianca as a second wife.โ€ Romeo said.

โ€œMarry Bianca?โ€

They heard a soft voice behind them and turned.

“Rias…” Romeo called, stepping forward, his presence filling the room.

He halted just in front of her, eyes locked on hers.

“So, you’re really having an affair with Bianca?” she asked, her voice even but her chest felt tight.

He nodded.

“And you told me to stay away from Haru, the hypocrisy..!!” she continued, her hands clenching at her sides.

“What’s special about that guy? He’s a cheater and a fake,” Romeo said casually, like it was nothing.

“And you’re better than him?” she shot back, her voice sharp.

“Yes, I am. I already gave you permission to do whatever you want. There’s no point arguing,” He replied, calm and unbothered.

Rias clenched her fists, trying to shove down the unusual tightness in her chest.

Why does this feel like itโ€™s stabbing me? she thought. I donโ€™t even like him. Iโ€™ve never liked himโ€ฆ so why does it hurt seeing him with someone else?

She forced a laugh, bitter.

“Fine then. Since itโ€™s official that we both donโ€™t approve of this marriage, we can talk to Grandpa together.”

Her voice shook slightly, though she didnโ€™t mean for it to.

“Let’s get a divorce,” She said, almost defiantly, but the words sounded heavier than she expected.

Her eyes betrayed her, glassy, though she refused to look at him.

I should feel relief. Iโ€™ve wanted out of this marriage forever. So why does my chest feel like itโ€™s closing in? Why canโ€™t I justโ€ฆ be free without this…without him hurting like this inside me? She thought to herself.

Romeoโ€™s hand moved, resting lightly on her chin, tilting her face up.

“A tear slipped,” He murmured softly, as if reading her thoughts, his thumb caressing her chin.

Riasโ€™s stomach churned. Why does this matter to me? I shouldnโ€™t care. I donโ€™t want to careโ€ฆ

You know that feeling of dislike you have for someone… You dislike them but can’t stand them being with someone else either.

Her heart was racing, betraying her own mind. I hate this feeling. I hate that Iโ€™m feeling anything…… but itโ€™s like a punch in the gut seeing him claim someone else.

โ€œDo you…love her?โ€ Rias asked him.

โ€œYes, I do.โ€ Romeo said, his hand still on her chin.

Seeing him actually thinking of finding happiness after acting like he owned her own life. It pissed Rias off.

She raised her hand and slapped his hand away from her face.

“Donโ€™t….touch me, Romeo.”
