โ€œAre you going to pick? Or should I do it for you?โ€ Romeoโ€™s voice was low, dangerous.

Rias remained silent, frozen, unable to speak.

With a swift motion, Romeo turned her, pressing her chest against the bed. His palm held her firmly in place, pinning her down.

She let out a small sob, trembling beneath him.

Romeo took a deep breath, closing his eyes tightly as he lifted the belt. For a moment, he stood there, rigid with controlled fury.

โ€œLeave.โ€ His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension.

Rias didnโ€™t need another word. She scrambled upright, stumbling out of the room, tears streaming down her face.

Romeo threw the belt onto the floor with a hard clatter and sank onto the bed, running a hand through his hair.

โ€œThat girlโ€ฆ sheโ€™s really testing my patience.โ€ His voice was low, laced with both exasperation and frustration.

Nancy sat cross-legged on her bed, still in her pajamas, her hair a mess from crying earlier. Her phone rested on the pillow propped up against her knees.

The familiar face of her mom, Annie, appeared on the screen.

โ€œMomโ€ฆโ€ Nancyโ€™s voice cracked as tears spilled over again.

โ€œNancy? Sweetheart, whatโ€™s wrong? Why are you crying?โ€ Annie asked, her brows knitting together with concern.

Nancy sniffled, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

โ€œItโ€™sโ€ฆ itโ€™s Sky, Mom. Iโ€ฆ I donโ€™t know what I did wrong. Heโ€ฆ he hates me. I can feel it. Every time I try to talk to him, heโ€”he just looks at me like Iโ€™m nothing, like I donโ€™t even exist.โ€

Annieโ€™s sigh was soft but firm. โ€œNancyโ€ฆ maybe you need to tone downโ€ฆ this obsession with him. I know you like him, but you canโ€™t let it control you like this.โ€

โ€œObsessed? Iโ€™m not obsessed, Mom!โ€ Nancy shouted, her voice trembling.

โ€œI love him! Iโ€ฆ I justโ€ฆ I just want him to notice me, to see me. Iโ€ฆ I care about him so much, and heโ€ฆ he doesnโ€™t even care about me!โ€

โ€œSweetieโ€ฆโ€ Annieโ€™s voice softened, trying to soothe her.

โ€œCrying like thisโ€ฆ for a guyโ€ฆ itโ€™s hurting you more than him. You have to calm down, Nancy. You canโ€™t let him or anyone make you feel like this all the time.โ€

Nancy buried her face in her hands, shaking. โ€œBut Iโ€ฆ I canโ€™t help it! I love him, Mom! Iโ€ฆ I just want him toโ€ฆ to like me, toโ€ฆ to care about me even a little bit! Is that too much to ask?!โ€

Annie reached through the screen in a comforting gesture, though Nancy could only see her worried face.

โ€œI know you love him, honey. But love isnโ€™t about forcing someone to care. You have to protect your heart too, okay?โ€

Nancy lifted her head slightly, tears still rolling down her cheeks. โ€œIโ€ฆ I know, Momโ€ฆ but it just hurts so much.โ€

Annie gave a soft sigh, her voice gentle but firm.

โ€œNancyโ€ฆ listen to me. Be a good girl, alright? If Sky doesnโ€™t like you back the way you feel, itโ€™s not the end of the world. Youโ€™ll be okay. You have to remember that.โ€

Nancy sniffled, wiping her tears with her sleeve. โ€œIโ€ฆ I know, Mom. Iโ€™ll tryโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThatโ€™s my girl. Now, itโ€™s late. Get some rest. Goodnight, sweetheart.โ€ Annie smiled softly, her image fading as she ended the call.

Nancy stared at the black screen for a moment, the quiet of her room settling around her.

She hugged her knees, glancing around at her roomโ€”every corner seemed to be filled with reminders of him.

Portraits of Sky on her desk, a few framed pictures on the shelves.

Her chest tightened, and she whispered to herself, โ€œIโ€ฆ I just want him to like meโ€ฆ just like me.โ€

She let out a shaky breath, curling into herself under the blankets.

The room was dark except for the faint glow of the city lights through her window, and for a moment, Nancy sat in silence, lost between longing and the bitter ache of reality.

Her eyelids grew heavy, but her mind kept replaying his face, his smileโ€ฆ and the way he hated her.

โ€œMaybeโ€ฆ tomorrow will be different,โ€ she murmured, letting herself drift into a restless sleep.

Rias was still fast asleep when her phone rang.

โ€œMmโ€ฆโ€ she groaned, burying her face into the pillow. โ€œWhoโ€™s calling me this early?โ€ she muttered.

The ringing didnโ€™t stop. With a sleepy frown, she reached out blindly, grabbed the phone, and answered.

โ€œWhoโ€™s this?โ€ Rias said, her voice thick with sleep.

โ€œGirlโ€ฆ are you seeing whatโ€™s going on?โ€ Sashaโ€™s voice came through, rushed and strained.

โ€œSasha?โ€ Rias sat up slightly. โ€œWhy? What happened?โ€

โ€œJust check Tokyoโ€™s official news site,โ€ Sasha said quicklyโ€”and hung up.

Rias stared at the screen for a second, confusion clouding her face. Then she unlocked her phone and opened the site.

The page loaded.

The first headline hit her like a punch to the chest.

Her breath left her lungs.

Color drained from her face.

Her hands began to shake.

โ€œRomeoโ€ฆ!โ€ she screamed, throwing the covers off and dashing out of the bed, running straight out of her room.

Rias didnโ€™t stop running.

She skidded to a halt in front of Romeoโ€™s bedroom door and shoved it open without knocking. The room was empty.

Her chest tightened.

โ€œDamn it,โ€ she muttered, spinning on her heel and bolting back into the hallway.

She took the stairs two at a time, nearly missing her footing as she rushed downstairs.

The moment she hit the ground floor, she almost collided with Sota, who stood calmly near the corridor.

โ€œMy lady. Good morning,โ€ Sota greeted politely.

Rias barely heard her.

โ€œWhereโ€™s that Romeo?โ€ she snapped, breathless, eyes wild.

Sotaโ€™s brows lifted a fraction at her tone, but her voice remained even. โ€œBoss is in his study. Itโ€™s the last room down the hall.โ€

Without another word, Rias brushed past her, her bare feet slapping against the marble floor as she followed the corridor.

โ€ข๐’๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฒโ€ข

โ€œIt doesnโ€™t add up,โ€ Bianca said.

โ€œMio was the only one who survived the hijack. No injuries serious enough to explain it. And yet she claims she didnโ€™t see who attacked, didnโ€™t hear anything useful. I already looked partially into it and I suspect sheโ€™s involved.โ€ She concluded.

Romeoโ€™s gaze stayed cold, unreadable.
โ€œLook into it,โ€ He said. โ€œ If you find out what really happened, you report directly to me.โ€

โ€œYes, Romeo.โ€Bianca nodded.

The door flew open before Bianca could step back.

Rias stormed in, fury written all over her face. She halted when she noticed Tiago by the wall and Bianca beside the desk. She knew Tiago.

But the woman?

Riasโ€™s eyes dragged slowly over Bianca, sharp and assessing.

โ€œWeren’t you ever taught how to knock?โ€ Romeo said calmly.

โ€œWhat the fuck is your problem?โ€ Rias snapped. โ€œDidnโ€™t we agree you wouldnโ€™t tell the public weโ€™re married? What is this?โ€

She slammed her phone onto his desk. Romeo glanced down at the screen.

โ€œHm.โ€ Romeo looked up, unimpressed. โ€œTiago, you really did good work with the media. Impressive.โ€

โ€œAre you listening to yourself right now?โ€ Rias said, shaking with anger.

โ€œWhat happened to what I asked you? We made an agreement that the public couldnโ€™t know about our marriage. That was the one rule I emphasized.โ€

โ€œRule?โ€ Romeo echoed. โ€œAnd how many of my rules exactly did you obey?โ€

Rias bit her lip, fists clenching at her sides.

Romeo rose from his chair and walked toward her until he stood directly in front of her, his presence heavy, dominating.

โ€œI didnโ€™t know you liked obedience so much,โ€ He said coolly.

โ€œYou wake up one morning and start lecturing me about rules you didnโ€™t follow yourself. Thatโ€™s rich coming from you, kiddo.โ€ He said.

โ€œThis is too much, Romeo!โ€ she snapped. โ€œWhy did they have to know weโ€™re married?โ€

โ€œWhy not?โ€ he replied. โ€œIs anything in that article a lie? You are my wife, Rias. Arenโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œThis is unfair!โ€

โ€œUnfair?โ€ His mouth curved into something dangerous. โ€œAll I did was put a label on whatโ€™s mine.โ€

Her eyes burned.

โ€œThatโ€™s exactly the problem!โ€ Rias burst out.

โ€œYou donโ€™t see me as a woman, you see me as property, a child. Everything with you is control, rules, cages I never agreed to live in. I canโ€™t breathe around you, Romeo. Every move I make, every word I say, you want to own it.โ€

She took a shaky step back.

Romeoโ€™s gaze darkened.

โ€œWhy?โ€ He asked softly. โ€œIs it because this little announcement is going to stop you from fooling around with your lover boy, Haru?โ€

Rias let out a sharp, humorless laugh, her hands shaking at her sides.

โ€œDo you even hear yourself?โ€ she snapped. โ€œEverything with you is possession.. You donโ€™t talk to me like a person, Romeo, you talk to me like property youโ€™re afraid might slip out of your grip.โ€

She took a step closer, her chest rising and falling fast.

โ€œI canโ€™t breathe in this house. You decide where I go, who I see, when I come home. You parade our marriage to the world without a word to me and then act like I should be grateful because you โ€˜claimedโ€™ me.โ€ Her voice cracked, anger layered over something rawer.

Romeo kept quiet, wanting to let her finish blabbing.

Her eyes burned as she glared up at him.

โ€œIโ€™m not your trophy, your investment, or your damn territory. Iโ€™m a human being. And every day with you feels like Iโ€™m shrinking just to fit inside whatever cage youโ€™ve built.โ€

His expression didnโ€™t soften. If anything, it hardened.

โ€œItโ€™s none of my business how you feel, you get that, Rias?โ€ He said coldly. โ€œYou are mine. Now you better behave before I put a leash on you like a dog.โ€

โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€ she whispered, rage and disbelief colliding in her chest.

โ€œAdditionally,โ€ Romeo continued, unbothered, โ€œTiago is going to be your personal driver from now on. Once itโ€™s 7 p.m., he brings you home.โ€

โ€œI thought my curfew was 10?!โ€ she shot back.

โ€œThat was before you disobeyed me. You already misused your privileges.โ€

โ€œI have a shift at the hospital. I can be done later than seven!โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re still an observing doctor. You have all day for practice. And besides, theyโ€™ll let you off earlier. If they donโ€™t, Iโ€™ll make sure they do.โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t do that,โ€ She said, her voice trembling now.

โ€œNot if I own the hospital.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re lying. I work at RRD Medicals.โ€

He tilted his head slightly. โ€œAnd whose initials do you think that is?โ€

Her breath hitched. โ€œYouโ€”โ€

Romeo grabbed her elbow, his grip iron-hard, and dragged her toward the door. He shoved her out into the hallway without another word and slammed the door shut in her face.

Rias stood there, frozen, her pulse roaring in her earsโ€”rage, fear, and humiliation twisting together as the study door remained firmly closed.

Romeoโ€™s gaze sharpened as he turned back to Tiago and Bianca, his tone low and commanding.

โ€œContinue with what you were saying,โ€ he said, each word clipped.

โ€œThatโ€™s all for now,โ€ Bianca replied quickly, sensing the tension in the room, her voice steady but cautious.

Tiago cleared his throat, stepping slightly forward. โ€œBoss, the annual Yakuza blood bath party is coming up soon.โ€

Romeo groaned, running a hand through his hair. โ€œF+k, that shit?! I donโ€™t want to attend. Decline my invite.โ€

โ€œBut bossโ€ฆโ€ Tiago began, hesitant.

โ€œNo buts, Tiago,โ€ Romeo interrupted sharply, his voice leaving no room for argument.

Tiago nodded immediately, understanding that pressing further was futile.

[๐‰๐š๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ซ ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ง] โ€“ Don Aizawaโ€™s Suite

Don Aizawa sat comfortably in his massive leather chair, a golden frame clock ticking quietly behind him. Kai entered the room, tossing an envelope onto the mahogany desk.

โ€œBlood bath invite from the head Yakuzas,โ€ Kai said.

Aizawa opened it and chuckling.

โ€œThis yearโ€™s party is sure going to be messy,โ€ Aizawa commented, a faint smirk on his face.

โ€œWhat if Romeo doesnโ€™t attend, as usual? Last year it was Hunter who went in his stead,โ€ Kai said, eyebrows raised.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry, Iโ€™m sure heโ€™ll come. I have a good feeling about it,โ€ Aizawa replied confidently.

โ€œDaddy!!โ€ Yukiโ€™s high heels clicked across the polished floor as she strutted into the suite.

โ€œMy princess,โ€ Aizawa smiled warmly as Yuki wrapped him in a tight hug before sitting beside him.

โ€œHowโ€™s my sweet granddaughter?โ€ he asked, his voice gentle.

โ€œBellaโ€™s fine, sheโ€™s at school right now,โ€ Yuki said, then turned her gaze toward Kai. โ€œHi, big brother.โ€

Kai scoffed. โ€œSo you still remember that I exist.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t start sulking,โ€ Yuki teased, rolling her eyes.

A shadow crossed Yukiโ€™s face as she leaned closer to her father, her voice trembling slightly with anger.

โ€œDaddyโ€ฆ itโ€™s Haru. I canโ€™tโ€ฆ I canโ€™t believe heโ€™s cheating on me with another woman! I meanโ€ฆ how is this fair? I canโ€™t let Bella grow up in such a toxic environment.โ€

Kaiโ€™s brows furrowed, a smirk playing on his lips. โ€œWaitโ€ฆ why are you forcing yourself on that loser? You really still care about him after everything?โ€

Yukiโ€™s eyes blazed as she turned to him. โ€œIโ€ฆ I love him! I canโ€™t help how I feel. I know itโ€™s complicated, but Iโ€ฆ I just want us to be a familyโ€”even if heโ€™s being a fool right now.โ€

Aizawaโ€™s expression softened, his hand resting on hers.

โ€œWhatever Yuki wantsโ€ฆ she gets. No one in this world can stop you from protecting your happiness, princess. If that means eliminating this Haruโ€™s other woman, then so be it. You have my blessing.โ€

Yukiโ€™s lips curled into a relieved smile, her fists unclenching.

Kai shook his head slightly, muttering under his breath, but Yuki only laughed softly, feeling a little vindicated in her battle for love and family.

Don Aizawaโ€™s eyes shifted, sharp and assessing.

โ€œWhereโ€™s Mio?โ€ Aizawa asked coolly.

Almost on cue, the doors opened. Mio stepped in, posture straight, head bowed low.

โ€œBoss,โ€ she greeted.

Aizawa leaned back slightly. โ€œWhatโ€™s the status at the Ryukai?โ€

Mio lifted her head, confidence flickering in her eyes. โ€œThey havenโ€™t detected a thing. The hijacked cargo hasnโ€™t been traced back to us. As far as they know, it was an external hit. No one is suspicious.โ€

Aizawaโ€™s lips curled faintly.

โ€œGood. Then we push forward.โ€ His tone hardened. โ€œOn the night of the blood bath party, we ambush the Ryukai. Romeo Dragoni has to be taken out of the equation. Thereโ€™s no way in hell Iโ€™ll allow his syndicate to stand above mine.โ€

Kai crossed his arms, unimpressed. โ€œSo youโ€™re actually admitting heโ€™s tougher than he was back when Rafael, Dante(Romeo’s Grandpa), and Angelo were running the clan?โ€

โ€œShut up,โ€ Aizawa snapped instantly, his voice slicing through the room.

โ€œTouchy.โ€Kai scoffed, a crooked grin on his face.

Aizawa ignored him and turned his attention back to Mio. โ€œOne more thing. Look into what Yuki wants. Find out who the woman is. The one Haruโ€™s been seeing.โ€

Mio nodded without hesitation. โ€œYes, boss.โ€

โ€œThanks, Daddy,โ€ Yuki said sweetly, standing from her seat. She glanced at Mio with expectation. โ€œGet to work now.โ€

Mio bowed once more and turned to leave, already calculating her next move as the room settled into a heavy, dangerous silence.

[๐Š๐š๐ข’๐ฌ ๐’๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ž]

Kai pushed the door shut behind him, the soft click barely stirring the woman sprawled across his bed.

She was half-awake, hair tangled against the pillow, eyes fluttering open as he shrugged off his jacket.

โ€œYou slept here last night?โ€ he asked, loosening his tie.

โ€œNot really,โ€ she murmured lazily. โ€œI came in this morning. I went to see him.โ€

Kai paused, then glanced at her. โ€œHmm. Thatโ€™s good. Did he believe you?โ€

She let out a quiet, amused scoff and turned onto her side. โ€œOf course he did. Heโ€™s a dumbass.โ€

A faint smile tugged at Kaiโ€™s lips. He moved to the bed and lay beside her. She immediately snuggled closer, draping an arm over his chest, pressing a soft kiss to his jaw.

โ€œSo,โ€ she said lightly, fingers tracing slow circles against his shirt, โ€œare your plans still going to be in motion?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ Kai replied without hesitation. His voice hardened. โ€œFirst, I need to come up with a proper strategy. It wonโ€™t be easy to ruin his career, but Iโ€™ll think of something.โ€

She tilted her head, studying him. โ€œDo you really have to go through with it?โ€

โ€œYes, Emma,โ€ Kai said, his tone dropping.

โ€œHeโ€™s the reason she died. I treated her like a sister back in high school. And Sky, with his stupid playboy lifestyle, pushed her over the edge of suicide. She didnโ€™t deserve that.โ€

His jaw tightened, anger simmering beneath the calm. โ€œIโ€™ll get revenge for her.โ€

Emma was quiet for a moment. Then she leaned in, kissing him softly, as if sealing his resolve.

โ€œSure,โ€ she whispered.

Kai closed his eyes briefly, the weight of old memories pressing down on him, even as her warmth lingered beside him.

Tiago eased the car into the parking lot and killed the engine.

โ€œWeโ€™re here, mistress,โ€ he said.

โ€œTiago.โ€ Rias looked at him, tone casual but precise.

โ€œYes, mistress.โ€

She shifted slightly in her seat, eyes narrowing just a fraction. โ€œThe woman from earlierโ€ฆ who is she?โ€

Tiago hesitated. โ€œUmโ€ฆ you mean Bianca? Well, sheโ€™s part ofโ€ฆโ€ He stopped himself, knowing how much he could reveal.

โ€œSheโ€™s boss Romeoโ€™s woman,โ€ he finally said.

Riasโ€™s fingers tapped lightly against her thigh, the motion small but sharp, as if testing her own patience.

โ€œHis woman,โ€ she repeated slowly, letting the words hang in the air.

โ€œYesโ€ฆโ€ Tiago said cautiously.

Riasโ€™s gaze drifted past him, out the window, her lips pressing together. โ€œLikeโ€ฆ he sleeps with her?โ€

Tiago stayed silent. The question was outside his league.

Rias exhaled, leaning back slightly, crossing her arms. โ€œNever mind. Just pick me up later.โ€

She opened the car door and stepped out, heels clicking sharply against the floor, her back straight.

Each step was deliberate, controlled, but the slight stiffness in her shoulders betrayed the ripple of tension beneath her calm exterior.

โ€ข~โ€ข~โ€ข~

Rias strode into the internsโ€™ room, her shoes hitting against the floor. Sasha was already there, sorting through some papers.

โ€œGirl, whatโ€™s up? Was it Romeo who leaked the marriage news to the media?โ€ Sasha asked without looking up.

โ€œWho else? That jerk,โ€ Rias muttered, tossing her bag onto the chair.

โ€œWow. I thought he didnโ€™t care about the marriage as much as you did,โ€ Sasha said, finally meeting her eyes.

โ€œActually, no. He wants the marriage to control me. The guyโ€™s a possessive freak,โ€ Rias replied, rolling her eyes.

โ€œRiasโ€ฆโ€ Sashaโ€™s voice was cautious.

โ€œDo you know he moved my curfew up to seven oโ€™clock? Can you believe the audacity?โ€ Rias snapped, her hands flying up.

โ€œWas it because of your date with Haru?โ€ Sasha asked, raising an eyebrow.

โ€œYes. And get thisโ€”I found out he has a woman heโ€™s sleeping with, and he expects me to be a saint?โ€ Rias exclaimed, pacing slightly.

Sasha sighed, leaning against the counter. โ€œHonestly, Rias, I get why heโ€™s mad. Haruโ€™s Romeoโ€™s business rival. It doesnโ€™t make sense for you to be with him.โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s Romeoโ€™s rival, not mine,โ€ Rias shot back, her tone sharp.

โ€œWellโ€ฆ heโ€™s married and has a kid. Rias, youโ€™re being really petty here,โ€ Sasha said, crossing her arms.

โ€œWhat are you trying to say?โ€ Rias demanded, stopping in her tracks.

โ€œIโ€™m saying you didnโ€™t know the kind of man Haru is. What if, after youโ€™re done playing with him, he refuses to let go? What if he starts pestering you?โ€ Sasha warned gently. โ€œYou know how much you hate that kind of mess.โ€

Rias clenched her fists, staring out the window. โ€œI donโ€™t need anyone telling me what I can or canโ€™t do,โ€ she muttered.

Sasha shook her head, half amused, half exasperated. โ€œJustโ€ฆ think about it. I donโ€™t want to see you stuck in a situation you canโ€™t handle.โ€

Rias let out a short, frustrated huff, flipping her hair over her shoulder. โ€œYeah, yeah. Donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ve got this under control.โ€

Sasha rolled her eyes but didnโ€™t press further, letting Rias stew in her own fire.

โ€œAnyway, enough talking about your toxic marriage. I finally met my HD guy in person, and you would not believe it,โ€ Sasha said, excitement lighting up her face.

Rias, now slipping into her ER clothes and crocs, paused mid-motion. โ€œReally?โ€

Sasha squeaked, unable to hide her grin.

โ€œSoโ€ฆ is he handsome?โ€ Rias asked, curiosity piqued.

โ€œWellโ€ฆ I guess all Dragoni’s have insane genes,โ€ Sasha admitted, laughing softly.

โ€œDragoni?โ€ Rias repeated, raising an eyebrow.

โ€œYup. Heโ€™s your husbandโ€™s cousin. Looks like weโ€™ll be in-laws in the future,โ€ Sasha winked.

โ€œWhat theโ€ฆ? What are the odds! So, is he a good guy?โ€ Rias asked, her tone a mix of surprise and interest.

โ€œYeah, heโ€™s really great. Weโ€™re already dating, and Iโ€™m so excited to spend more time with him. Sadly, it can only be in the evenings because of our work shifts, then on weekends. โ€ Sasha said with a small sigh.

โ€œIโ€™m happy for you, girl. Hold your man tightโ€”donโ€™t be like me,โ€ Rias said, a soft smirk tugging at her lips.

โ€œThereโ€™s nothing wrong if you and Romeo actually work things out,โ€ Sasha added lightly.

โ€œOh, Sashaโ€ฆโ€ Rias muttered.

โ€œWhat? Youโ€™re stuck with him, Rias, deal with it. For example, stop making him angry and try listening for once. Likeโ€ฆ being early for your curfew,โ€ Sasha teased, rolling her eyes.

Rias scoffed, shaking her head.

โ€œIโ€™ll leave now. Have a stressfulโ€ฆ good day,โ€ Sasha said, turning toward the door, her tone dripping with playful sarcasm.

Rias stood alone in the office, arms crossed, staring at nothing.

Her and Romeo? Actually working things out?

Ridiculous.

They were parallel lines, destined never to meet. He was arrogant, controlling, suffocating. Every breath around him felt like a time bomb, every glance a warning.

She scoffed softly.

Iโ€™d rather die.

Haru slammed his fist onto the desk, the screen of his tablet rattling as the headline glared back at him:

๐Ÿ“ฐ YOUNGEST TRILLIONAIRE CEO, ROMEO R. DRAGONI, IS MARRIED. AND TO WHOM? RIAS GREMORY, GRANDDAUGHTER OF LEGENDARY BUSINESSMAN, RAFAEL GREMORY.

โ€œAre you kidding me?!โ€ he roared, standing abruptly. โ€œWhat the hell is this?!โ€

His staff froze, then slowly filed out of the office, knowing better than to stay in the office.

Haru took a deep breath, trying to contain the fury threatening to spill over. He quickly pulled out his phone and tapped furiously, composing a message:

Haru โ†’ Rias:
โ€œRias. We need to meet. Text me where you are.โ€

He hit send and stared at the ceiling, the anger boiling beneath his skin. His mind raced.

Why now? Why him? And why with that idiot Romeo?

The lecture hall buzzed with chatter as students fidgeted in their seats. The professor, a tall man with wire-rimmed glasses, tapped on the podium.

โ€œAlright class,โ€ he began, his voice carrying easily across the room,

โ€œFor this semester, weโ€™ll have a group project as part of your extra-curricular assessment. Each group will work together to design a small-scale health campaign for the campus community. Youโ€™ll be responsible for researching, planning, and presenting your campaign in both a written report and a short video.โ€

A collective groan echoed through the hall.

โ€œGroup project? I hate projects,โ€ Ginger muttered under her breath, scribbling notes lazily.

โ€œI wish Levi was taking the same course,โ€ she added, sighing quietly to herself.

The professor continued, โ€œPlease log into the class site and check which group youโ€™ve been assigned to. Youโ€™ll find your teammates there.โ€

The students pulled out their phones and laptops, tapping into the online portal. Nancy opened her group page and froze.

Sky. His name was listed right there, beside hers.

Her stomach twisted. A sinking feeling spread through her chest, and she stared at the screen, unwilling to breathe.

She wanted to reject the pairingโ€”wanted to run away and pretend it wasnโ€™t happening.

Ginger, noticing her friendโ€™s distress, leaned over. โ€œNancy? Whatโ€™s wrong? Isnโ€™t this good? You get to spend time alone with Sky for the project.โ€

Nancy shook her head, voice barely above a whisper. โ€œIโ€ฆ I donโ€™t want to give him any reason to hate me more.โ€

โ€œHey.โ€

Nancy turned, startled. Sky was standing behind her, tall and calm, his expression unreadable.

โ€œSkyโ€ฆ about the projectโ€ฆโ€ she began, her voice trembling.

He stepped closer, lowering his voice. โ€œMeet me outside,โ€ he said simply, then walked past her toward the exit.

Nancyโ€™s chest tightened. She turned to Ginger, eyes wide.

โ€œJust go,โ€ Ginger urged softly, nudging her toward the door.

Nancy took a shaky breath and followed, leaving the classroom behind.

Outside

โ€œIโ€™ll do the project alone,โ€ Sky said, his voice firm, but Nancy’s hands trembled slightly.

โ€œI agreed to do it with you because I can easily discard you. Iโ€™ll do itโ€ฆ and Iโ€™ll even include your name.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t you have an album coming out next week? Youโ€™ll be busy, right?โ€ She asked.

โ€œI wonโ€™t.โ€

โ€œI can help. Itโ€™s our project.โ€She said.

Nancy shook her head quickly.

โ€œI saidโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll handle it.โ€ His words came out sharper than intended.

He straightened, taking a step forward as if to leave, but she reached out and held the tip of his shirt, stopping him.

Sky froze for a moment, then slowly turned, his gaze sharp, piercing.

โ€œI donโ€™t get it,โ€ Nancy said, her voice trembling with frustration.

โ€œWhy? Why do you hate me? Why is it so easy for you to look at me and justโ€ฆ hate everything about me? Wonโ€™t you try getting to know me first?โ€

Skyโ€™s lips curled into a bitter scoff. He slapped her hand off with deliberate force, letting her fingers sting from the impact.

โ€œI donโ€™t hate you,โ€ He said, voice low, icy, but every word dripped with disdain.

โ€œI justโ€ฆ donโ€™t want anything to do with you. So donโ€™t think your existence matters to me.โ€

He turned sharply and walked away, each step heavy, leaving Nancy standing there, heart pounding, and the sharp sting of rejection burning in her chest.

Mio adjusted her mask, slipping it into place as she trailed Haru through the streets. She kept a careful distance, eyes sharp, waiting for the right moment.

When he drove into the underground parking lot, she followed silently, pulling her own car into a shadowed corner and shutting the engine off.

From there, she could see everything.

Haru sat in his car, tense and alert. Moments later, the elevator doors opened, and Rias stepped out.

She wore her ER blue outfitโ€”fitted, professional, yet somehow alluring. Her messy bun hair framed her face perfectly, and her gaze was sharp as she spotted Haru.

Haru got out of his car, closing the door behind him. His stride was confident, yet there was a visible tension in his shoulders as he approached her.

โ€œYou wanted to see me?โ€ Rias asked, tilting her head slightly, her voice light but teasing.

Haru stopped in front of her, eyes burning with frustration. โ€œIs the news true? You are married to Romeo Dragoni?โ€

Rias let out an exaggerated sigh, her eyes glinting. โ€œUghโ€ฆ yeah, itโ€™s true.โ€

โ€œWhy? How come you didnโ€™t tell me?โ€ His voice was sharp, almost wounded.

โ€œI didnโ€™t see the need to,โ€ she said, brushing a strand of hair from her face. โ€œThat marriage is none of my concern.โ€

Haruโ€™s jaw tightened. He could feel the tension rising, his mind a chaotic mix of desire and anger.

Rias stepped closer, brushing her hand lightly against his chest.

โ€œAre you jealous?โ€ she whispered, her lips curving into a playful smirk. โ€œDonโ€™t be. It doesnโ€™t matter that weโ€™re both marriedโ€ฆ nothing will stop us from seeing each other.โ€

Her fingers traced a slow path across his chest, deliberately lingering. Haruโ€™s heart raced. He tried to form words, but all he could do was stare at her, captivated.

Rias chuckled softly, sensing his weakness. โ€œRelaxโ€ฆ just enjoy the moment,โ€ she teased, tilting her head as if daring him to act.

Haruโ€™s mind spun. He couldnโ€™t lose herโ€”this intoxicating, teasing woman. He clenched his fists, trying to maintain control, yet every instinct in him screamed to pull her closer.

โ€œYou’re mine, Rias. I don’t care if you’re married.โ€Haru mumbled.

He leaned in to kiss her lips but she turned her cheeks instead and he kissed her cheeks.

โ€œYou’re so hard to please.โ€He said.

โ€œI know. Let’s continue this some other time, I’m in the middle of work.โ€She winked, walking away from him.

And all he could do was stare at her lovely a+s.

F+k.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Mio โ†’ Yuki:
The woman Haru is seeingโ€ฆ itโ€™s Romeo Dragoniโ€™s wife. Rias Gremory.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Yuki โ†’ Mio:
The nerveโ€ฆ of that woman.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Mio โ†’ Yuki:
What do you want me to do?

๐Ÿ“ฑ Yuki โ†’ Mio:
Do whatever it takes. Get rid of her. Donโ€™t let her interfere with whatโ€™s mine.

โ€œJust like I suspected, bossโ€ฆ Mio is a snake,โ€ Bianca said, her tone sharp.

โ€œHow?โ€ Tiago asked, eyebrows furrowed.

โ€œI did an investigation on her. Sheโ€™s been seen countless times with a certain Kaiโ€ฆ Don Aizawaโ€™s son from the Jaguar Clan,โ€ Bianca explained.

โ€œSo sheโ€™s a spy, huh?โ€ Romeo muttered, his jaw tightening.

โ€œYes,โ€ Bianca confirmed.

โ€œHold onโ€ฆ that bastard Haruโ€™s wifeโ€”Aizawa is her father, right?โ€ Romeoโ€™s eyes narrowed.

โ€œYou mean Yuki? Yeah. But I donโ€™t think theyโ€™ve been in contact for long. Itโ€™s her brother in the Yakuza, not her,โ€ Bianca added.

โ€œAlso, bossโ€ฆ since Mistress is supposedly having an affair with Haruโ€ฆ do you thinkโ€”โ€ Tiago hesitated.

Romeoโ€™s eyes widened.

โ€œShit, that Kiddo.โ€

Without another word, he stood abruptly and stormed out of his office. Bianca and Tiago exchanged glances, then followed quickly behind him.

Rias shifted impatiently, glancing at her watch for what felt like the hundredth time.

Sashaโ€™s shift had ended hours ago, and now it was already 6:30 p.m. Tiago was nowhere in sight.

Gosh, she muttered under her breath. I actually wanted to be early for this stupid curfewโ€ฆ and heโ€™s not here?

From a distance, Mio sat hidden in her tinted car, finger hovering on the trigger. Her laser sight landed squarely on Riasโ€™s chest.

โ€œBingo.โ€ she thought, eyes narrowing.

But her focus wavered as another car pulled into the lot.

โ€œWhyโ€™s he here?โ€ Mio whispered to herself, gripping the steering wheel tighter.

Rias froze, heart skipping a beat as she saw himโ€”Romeo. The cold glint in his eyes immediately set her on edge.

โ€œWhy are you here? Iโ€™m not doing anything wrong! Can you leave me alone? Whereโ€™s Tiago?โ€ Rias demanded, her voice sharp but trembling slightly.

โ€œIโ€™m taking you homeโ€ฆ myself,โ€ he said, stepping closer.

Rias tensed and struggled, backing away. โ€œI donโ€™t need you! Let go of me!โ€

Romeo paused, scanning her with a sharp glance, and then noticed the red laser dot resting on her chest.

โ€œShit!!โ€ He muttered, his eyes flashing as he tried to move her away from that spot, but her stubborness drove him to just shield her instead.

BANG!!

The sound echoed violently through the parking lot, making Riasโ€™s heart lurch into her throat.

Chaos erupted around the hospital as the gunshot echoed, sending everyone, visitors, and staff into frantic screams.

โ€œGet down! Someoneโ€™s shooting!โ€ a security yelled, pulling people to the floor.

โ€œStay back! Security!โ€ another voice shouted as hospital guards scrambled toward the parking lot.

โ€œRomeo..!โ€ Biancaโ€™s voice rang out, sharp and urgent.

She bolted from the car, her heels clacking against the asphalt.

โ€œBoss!โ€ Tiago shouted, sprinting beside her.

They froze momentarily as they looked across the streetโ€”Mio, masked and poised in her car, ready to flee.

Mio slammed the ignition, tires screeching, and tore down the lot.

โ€œBianca, take care of boss. Iโ€™ll deal with that bitch!โ€ Tiago barked, jumping into his own car and giving chase.

Rias stood frozen, eyes wide as they locked on Romeo. The bullet had struck his shoulder, and the sight of blood made her stomach twist.

He was shaking slightlyโ€”not from fear, but from controlled fury. The thought of being hurt even slightly enraged him more than anything else.

โ€œStubborn as ever, kiddo,โ€ Romeo muttered, his voice low and dangerous.

โ€œI didnโ€™t ask you for this! I didnโ€™t want this!โ€ Rias snapped, crossing her arms and stomping her foot like a brat, her face twisted in frustration.

โ€œCan you stop, Rias?!โ€ Bianca finally yelled, hands on her hips, glaring at Rias.

โ€œWhat the- who the f+k are you to yell at me? Huh?!โ€Rias moved instantly, pushing Bianca slightly with both hands.

Romeo quickly intervened shoving Rias away from Bianca with brutal force, Rias’s back slammed against a pillar outside.

Rias gasped. Bianca rolled her eyes at Rias.

It’s a good thing she held herself back or Riad would be bleeding right now if not for the respect Bianca has for Romeo.

Romeo whipped his gaze toward Rias, huffing.

โ€œDo you think I did this for you? Pathetic!โ€ He sneered.

Romeoโ€™s jaw tightened. He inhaled sharply through his nose, suppressing the fury bubbling beneath the surface.

In all his years of being a Yakuza, this is the first time he has ever gotten shot. Cause he’s always careful 100% of the time on a mission, he’s too deadly in a fight that you can’t get even a scratch on him.

But nothing prepared him for the audacity of this brat standing there whining at him while a bullet had just pierced his shoulder.

โ€œRomeo, we need to get your wound treated,โ€ Bianca said, her voice firm but calm, trying to drag him to a safer spot.

He hates this so f+king much. I mean, who wouldn’t when it’s the first time a bullet is piercing your skin.

And this brat is whining at me? The thought made his blood boil.

โ€œWhere should we go? Your fortress or the Ryukai?โ€ Bianca asked, stepping closer to support him.

โ€œIโ€™m driving to the fortress. Tiago left with the car, right? Ride with me,โ€ Romeo said, his voice sharp, all patience evaporating.

โ€œAndโ€ฆ your wife?โ€ Bianca asked cautiously, her gaze flicking to Rias.

Romeoโ€™s eyes darkened, and he finally snapped.

โ€œShe should figure out what to do with her pathetic self. I donโ€™t really give a f+k.โ€

Riasโ€™s mouth opened in protest, but no words came out.

She stomped her foot, pouted, and crossed her arms tighter, but Romeo didnโ€™t look at her.

Instead , he pulled Bianca by her wrist, heading to the car as they both got in on both sides.

As the car doors shut, Riasโ€™s little tantrum felt meaningless, Romeo has had enough, and she knew it.

The sound of the engine roared to life, and the car sped off, leaving Rias standing all by herself.
