“Don’t you think it’s inappropriate to touch my PA like that, Mr. Fredrik?”Mr. Kings said as he let go of Ana and stood beside her, his hands in his pockets, eyes locked on Mr. Fredrik.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Kings. I was just being friendly,” Mr. Fredrik replied, glancing at Ana, who was still in a daze, confused about what had just happened.
“I’ll take my leave then,”Mr. Fredrik added. “See you around, Miss Evans,” he said softly, his gaze lingering on her.
Ana nodded with a polite smile. As Mr. Fredrik walked away, Mr. Kings took Ana’s hand and dragged her outside. Ana looked down at their joined hands, surprised and confused. What is happening?__she wondered as they stepped out of the restaurant.
“Charlie!” a voice called from behind them as they approached the parking lot.
They both stopped. Mr. Kings closed his eyes and took a deep breath — he already knew who it was. Ana didn’t dare turn around. She tried to pull her hand from his grip, but he tightened it, refusing to let go.
“So you refused to have lunch with me so you could be with her?” Fatima asked as she came up behind them, her eyes falling on their intertwined hands. She bit her lip in anger.
Still in shock from Sam’s words, seeing Charlie wrap his arms around Ana had stunned her. She’d waited outside, trying not to cause a scene — but now, she couldn’t hold it in.
“Why are you here?” Mr. Kings asked coldly, his gaze locked on her.
Fatima sighed, overwhelmed with frustration. Her narrowed eyes shifted to Ana — envy, jealousy, and bitterness swimming in them.
Ana stared back, wanting to run from it all, but Mr. Kings’s grip stayed tight on her hand, making escape impossible.
“We were supposed to meet today. I booked an appointment,” Fatima said, her voice strained.
Mr. Kings raised an eyebrow. “You’re not part of my work. Did you forget that?”His tone was distant and cold as he turned and continued walking to the car.
“You’re just going to leave like that?” Fatima shouted as Mr. Kings opened the car door for Ana and helped her in. Fatima watched, her heart clenching in anger and pain.
She stood frozen, exhausted, and defeated. She didn’t go after him.
Fatima clenched her handbag tightly, her thoughts spiraling into darkness. The only thing she wanted was Charlie Kings — and she wasn’t going to lose him to anyone.
“Ahhhhhhh!” she screamed, stomping her foot on the ground.
“Are you okay, ma’am?” a security guard asked.
She shot him a glare. “Do I look like I am? Leave me alone!”she snapped before she walked to her car..
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
—
Inside the car, Ana looked out the window, too many questions running through her head. The silence in the car was intense; she couldn’t utter a single word. What was she going to say anyway?
Mr. Kings was also buried in his phone. Only their breathing and the soft background music could be heard.
Ana sighed softly as her phone rang, breaking the silence. She took it out and stared at the caller ID. Her hands clenched around the phone, and her expression suddenly went blank when she saw Milton’s name on the screen.
Mr. Kings’s eyes snapped to her, and he raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t you just switch off your phone if you don’t want to answer?” he said, his gaze still on her. Ana swallowed and looked down at the phone, unsure if she should answer or ignore it.
Her eyes flickered toward Mr. Kings before she lifted the phone to her ear and answered.
“Hello,” her voice came out a little shaky before she cleared her throat.
Mr. Kings frowned slightly at the tone of her voice.
“Ana, are you okay?” Milton’s voice came through the phone. Ana gulped. *How dare he?* She gripped the phone tighter and nodded instinctively—forgetting he couldn’t see her.
Mr. Kings watched her face and saw a frown slowly form.
“Can we… talk later? I’m busy,” Ana whispered, then quickly ended the call.
She put her phone down and turned back to the window, just as the driver parked the car in front of E.K.
They both stepped out. Mr. Kings slipped his hands into his pockets and walked behind her. They entered the elevator and headed to their offices.
Ana put her things down, opened a bottle of water, and took a sip. She closed her eyes, feeling a headache coming on. With a sigh, she massaged her forehead.
Meanwhile, in his office, Mr. Kings watched her through the glass, his gaze intense, wondering what had just happened. She suddenly looked… sad.
He shook his head. He knew she wasn’t his business—so why was he worried?
At that moment, his phone rang. He looked at the screen, then stared at the caller ID,. *What does she want now?* he wondered before answering the call.
“Hello?”
Fatima’s voice came through, trembling.
“Charlie, can you hear me?”
He frowned at how shaky her voice sounded.
“Please help me, I’m in pain. I… I…” she paused, her voice breaking again.
Mr. Kings gripped the phone tightly, his chest tightening with concern.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice low but alert.
Fatima groaned on the other end.
“Something happened. I’m in a lot of pain. Please, can you come to my house?” she cried out.
Mr. Kings closed his eyes briefly, exhaling. Without saying a word, he grabbed his coat and headed out of the office.
Ana,in her office looked up and watched him leave, confusion written across her face. She couldn’t help but wonder what was going on.
❄️Fatima’s House❄️
Fatima looked at her phone, then smiled. Samantha stood behind her.
“Did he say anything?” Samantha asked.
Fatima smiled again and sat down on the sofa. “He did. He said he’s coming. I’m sure he’ll be here soon.”
“Good. This is your chance. Don’t mess this up, Fatima,” Samantha said firmly. “I’m begging you. If you ruin this, I swear—”
Fatima sighed and rolled her eyes cutting her off. “Can you just trust me, Sam? I don’t know what’s going on with you lately. Why can’t you trust me like you used to?”
Samantha rolled her eyes too. “You know I can’t. It’s been years since you started dating Charlie, and yet… why hasn’t he made a move? You’re failing, Fatima. And it’s disappointing.”
Fatima sighed again, her tone softer. “I’m sorry, Sam. It’s just… I’ve been going through a lot. And your brother? He’s hard to deal with. I don’t even know if he’s still into me or if it’s that Ana girl. Ever since she came into the picture, everything feels like a mess. I don’t understand it. I don’t know what to do.” Her face filled with frustration.
Samantha walked over and pulled her into a warm hug. “It’s okay. I’m here. Just trust me. Do this right. Once you marry him, we’ll have all the power we need.”
Fatima glanced at her. “But what is it that you really want, Sam? You have everything. You’re already rich. You’re influential. Why do you want Charlie’s job?”
Samantha smirked. “Oh, Fatima… You don’t know what I really want. I want *everything* Charlie has. And I’m going to take it. That’s a promise.”
She paused, her face twisting with rage. “I hate him. There’s so much anger in me. He took something from me… something precious.”
“And what is it that he took from you?”Fatima asked curiously.
Samantha sighed, then moved away from her and sat on the sofa, crossing her legs. She leaned forward slightly, her hands wrapped around her knees.
“It’s something… something I can’t tell you. You’ll know at the right time. Once you do everything I asked, then I’ll explain.”
“But you can’t take everything. If you take everything from him, why should I marry a broke man?” Fatima asked with a chuckle. “I can’t be with a broke husband.”
“I’m not going to take everything,” Samantha replied calmly. “I just want him to be miserable. And I know he will be—with you. He’s marrying you for the sake of the business… and for me. After all, I’m the one involved in this.”
She paused, then added, “Fatima, you need to do something that will secure Charlie. Either you get pregnant—or something else.”
“I hear you, Sam. I’ll do it,”Fatima replied with a determined nod.
‘ Now you should leave before he arrives. I’m going give him a surprise that will shock him”
Samantha rolled her eyes and stood up from the couch.
“I’ll see you later. Please, make sure you seduce that brother of mine,”Samantha said with a sly smile before walking out the door.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kings parked his car. He didn’t even notice Samantha getting into hers as he rushed to the door and pressed the intercom.
It didn’t take long for the door to open, revealing Fatima. She was wearing green lingerie that showed off her curves, her breasts barely covered. She smiled seductively at him.
Mr. Kings’ face pulled into a confused frown. Isn’t she the same person who called me crying and in pain just minutes ago? he wondered, his gaze flicking to her outfit.
“What the fuck, Fatima?” he asked, his voice low but not harsh.
He walked inside the house, and she followed behind him. She hugged him from behind, her hands roaming over his chest as she breathed heavily on his neck.
Mr. Kings pulled her away and stared at her, his jaw clenched.
“What are you trying to do?” he asked, eyes filled with irritation.
Fatima moved closer, her hands tracing his chest.
Mr. Kings stood frozen in disbelief as he yanked her hand away from him..
“What do you think you’re doing, Fatima? You called me for this nonsense?”he asked, his voice edged with irritation.
Fatima sighed. “I missed you… and I thought maybe doing this would bring you back. I can see you still care about me,”she said, stepping closer, trying to touch his face.
But he turned his head away sharply.
“Stop this nonsense. I left meetings—important ones—because you called me. And for what?”His tone was firm as he added “Can’t you see how desperate and manipulative this looks?”
“Charlie, why can’t you see that I love you?” she asked, her voice soft and emotional.
Mr. Kings stared at her before letting out a low chuckle.
“You really are full of drama. You *love* me? Where is all this shit crap coming from?”
“I mean it! Why can’t you see that? You just want me to keep begging you. When will you accept me, huh?” Fatima’s voice trembled as she spoke. She moved closer and placed her hands on his cheeks, her eyes filled with longing.
“Please, Charlie… we used to be happy, remember? Everything we did… how can you forget it all?”
Mr. Kings gently removed her hands from his face. He sighed when he saw the hurt and tears in her eyes.
“There was never anything between us, Fatima. Did you forget why we were together? This was just a fucking business arrangement—nothing more,” he said, his gaze cold and firm.
Fatima covered her face with her hands as his words sank in. “So all the s+x, all that time we spent together in Italy… did that mean nothing to you? Huh? Why did you f+k me that first night we met if you weren’t even interested? Why? Why?” she cried, her voice rising.
“Because you made it easy.”
Fatima flinched.
“You fucking threw yourself at me, hoping I’d become your f*****ng fantasy. I didn’t stop you because I didn’t have to. That night wasn’t about feelings—it was about convenience. You were there. You wanted it. And I didn’t care enough to f+kin say no.”
Silence fell between them like a hammer. Fresh tears slipped down her cheeks as her chest rose and fell with betrayal, and insults..
