The Maranzanos – Final

Franklin’s bullet hit her instead, penetrating straight into her heart.

Silence happened immediately, just their eyes getting wider, especially Franklin’s as he watched Mia going down.

The gun fell from him to the ground, and tears fell out of his eyes as he started running to her.

Sergio took the opportunity and tried shooting him, but Royal’s bullet hit him before he could pull the trigger.

“Arggggghhh!!!!!!!” His deep scream rented the air as he held his shot chest, but it wasn’t over cos Royal shot him again in the same spot, then again…. and again.

“AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” His screams came out again, and this time, Franklin finally got to Mia, and she fell directly into his arms.

He fell on the ground, and she began hiccuping as blood rushed out of her mouth. Tears still didn’t come out of her eyes, she’s even smiling despite the pains.

“Dwarf” Franklin muttered tearfully, and she smiled wider.

“You… you’re crying…for me? You…still care about…me” she hiccupped, and his tears fell again.

“Who said I stopped caring? Where did you hear it from?” He replied, crying loudly as he watched blood soak her dress more and more from her shot chest.

“I’m so sorry Mia, I’m sorry” he sniffed.

“It’s not your fault. Everything that has been happening to me was bound to happen, till now. It’s my destiny, and I can’t escape it” she smiled.

“Mia…

“I’m just glad that… that I met you before I’d die” she smiled and held his right hand with her shaky hand.

“Mia…no…

“You know i… I have a crush on you, right? I know you know, and that’s why you enjoy teasing me” she said, and snort even fell out of Franklin’s nose this time.

“I’m glad I got to give you my first intimacy too, I didn’t regret it” she said weakly.

Anthony was even crying harder than Franklin, And Aurora’s eyes are so red, indicating her own sadness.

Teardrops are falling from Royal’s eyes as he kept pointing his gun at Sergio who’s still bleeding so much on the ground.

“Can you… give my forehead a kiss at least? I’ll die happily then” Mia requested, and without hesitating, Franklin kissed her on the forehead …. Deeply.

“Tell my parents not to be too sad though, I might come in form of their next baby, who knows” she said, and Franklin closed his eyes sorrowfully.

“Try to smile more often from now on, Tallest. I’d appreciate it from up there” she muttered, and her eyes began shutting slowly.

Franklin opened his eyes, and her eyes closed completely.

Her body went limp in his arms, and he closed his eyes again, hugging her body closer to himself.

“Mia…. Mia!!!!!” He yelled devastatingly, and Anthony crawled to them.

Immediately he saw her limpness, he sat on his butt slowly, closing his eyes as hot waterworks escaped it 

“How pathetic, so pathetic…. arhhhh!!!!!!!!!!” He screamed madly, scrapping the ground with his nails till he got wounded.

“Mia!!!!!!!!!!!”

Aurora’s tears finally came out of her red eyes, and she had to turn her back to the bereaving scene.

She’s really gone, for life.

A MONTH LATER*

Franklin came out of a flower shop, his black hoodie covering his head as he held two flower bouquet in his hands.

He bumped into someone, and the flowers fell.

His hood fell from his head too, revealing his sad face filled with redness. It’s obvious he cried not long ago.

He faced the one he bumped into, and it turned out to be Ryan, the son of Joseph whom he killed at his first operation in Sicily. The little boy!

He’s with a woman, and the woman is holding his right hand.

Franklin picked the fallen flowers before squatting in front of him, and Ryan gave him a really bitter look immediately.

“It’s you, I’ll never forget your face” he said, and Franklin nodded.

“You can snap it now if you have a camera. Come for me when you’re all grown up, I’ll be waiting” he said, and Ryan nodded.

“Don’t even try to run, I’ll hunt you to the end of the world, and you’d pay for killing my father”

“Sure, come for me” Franklin replied sadly.

“Let’s go, Ryan” the woman began pulling him in, but he kept looking back at Franklin till he went out of sight.

Franklin left for his car with the flowers, and he drove to a burial ground with them.

He came out of the car with the flowers and a bag, and he walked to the two tiled concrete which were built side-by-side.

One belonging to Serafina and the other one belonging to Mia 

He dropped the flowers on each of their ground, then he sat in-between and brought out yogurt from the bag.

He made sure it poured on his fingers, and he licked just like Mia before starting to drink.

“I knowingly placed you two beside each other so loneliness wouldn’t have it’s way. Hope you both can meet and become close up there since there was no opportunity to meet on Earth” he said, sipping the yogurt slowly.

“I deserve every bad thing in this world for literally killing you both, and I’m ready for it. I’ll pay for all the lives I took, including the lives of you both. Ryan promised me that, I’ll come to meet you both soon” he smiled sadly, sipping again.

Another car stopped on the ground, and Anthony came out of it. He helped blind Beatrice out of the other door, and he led her to the spot.

Without saying any word to Franklin, they dropped their flowers too, and Beatrice began crying on her knees like she does anytime she visits this place.

“Thinking about it from the other way, I deserve sadness for all the lives I took” Anthony said.

“You’re a mafia, and it’s bound to happen. Mafias aren’t reverends” Franklin said and stood.

“Still…I think the repercussions was what cost me the life of my daughter. She doesn’t deserve being six feets right now” Anthony replied, and Franklin placed a arm on his shoulder.

“You should do all the things she couldn’t do, You both are still young to have another child. It’s her wish, have another one and name her Mia, groom her up and let her be a plastic surgeon like Mia has always dreamt, please” he said, and Anthony faced the grave again.

MARANZANOS CASTLE*

Franklin got back just now, and the first place he went to was the lake. The first place he met Mia at.

He sat beside the water and smiled sadly as the evening breeze greeted his skin, remembering how he once removed his hanky from her chest.

He brought out her phone from his pocket and went to her contacts. There are only two.

Romeo’s, and his number which she saved as Tallest with a black heart emoji.

He couldn’t stop his tears from coming out, and it was already falling before the rest showed up.

Aurora, Armani, Royal and Elettra who’s currently heavily pregnant.

“You’ve been coming here to cry since her death, you should stop now” Aurora said.

“I’m planning to demolish this castle and build an estate” Royal said, and Franklin stood.

“I plan to stay here, till Ryan grows up. He has to come for me, and also, I’m staying here till I find the killer of my parents. I have to” he said.

“Told you he’d never agree to it” Elettra said.

“How many years do you need?” Royal asked.

“Eighteen is enough” Franklin replied.

“Then we can just build the estate on my land, then in eighteen years, we build another estate here” Elettra said.

“Are you really gonna wait for Ryan to get rid of you? Franklin” Armani said.

“I promised him my death, my life belongs to him” Franklin replied.

They all went silent for some minutes till Royal spoke up.

“We’re off to Anthony’s castle”

“I’ll join y’all later” he replied.

“Still wanna shed more tears?” Elettra replied.

“He’d never stop” Aurora replied, and Franklin nodded as they all left at once.

COSTELLOS*

Anthony was smiling as he walked into his dungeon cells, and immediately he kicked one of the doors open, his smile grew wider.

Inside the dungeon is wretched Sergio and Luciano whose face is totally burnt with acid.

Sergio’s two eyes are gone just like he did to Beatrice, and his five right fingers are gone too, plus a foot.

“You enslaved my wife and daughter for years. I plan to do the same, for 30 years in your case” Anthony said, and Sergio’s mouth opened to talk, but his voice barely came out 

“It’s your turn to beg too just like my wife did, it’s your turn to suffer just like my daughter, you’d rot in here but your body won’t get buried, you’d decay!” Anthony spat and got the bloody cutters from the ground.

He went for his left hand and began cutting off the fingers…

“Anthony!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!” Sergio’s voice finally came out, and he peed himself as his blood wet the ground.

MAIN PALACE*

“His cries are always melodious to the ears, I should come here to listen everyday” Aurora said, and Armani laughed.

“But Beatrice can get eyes implant, don’t you think? Through surgery” Elettra said.

“Anthony is working on that” Royal replied.

“I have a question. Why didn’t you just pay for Serafina’s surgery instead of sending Franklin into the castle?” Armani asked.

“He was already in the castle before I gave him the job, I contacted him late, and that’s my fault on my own side. If I contacted him a week earlier than I did, I’m sure Sera would still be alive by now. I found the liver donor in fact. The one Greta destroyed” Royal replied.

“That b**ch” Aurora muttered, and Anthony finally came out to them with bloody hands.

“Shall we start the plans?”

“I don’t get” Armani said.

“We have to protect Franklin at all cost. He’s like our ace now” Elettra replied, and Aurora smiled as she stood, surrounding a table with all of them.

MARANZANOS CASTLE*

Franklin is still beside the lake, sitting and throwing stones into the water every minute.

He’s clearly seeing Mia’s reflection, smiling at him from the water.

“Sorry….I couldn’t reciprocate your feelings before you left. Maybe when Ryan kills me and we meet up there, we might sprinkle a bit of romance in our script” he smiled sorrowfully and picked another stone 

“For now, it remains tragedy. Goodbye…. Mia” he whispered, throwing the stone eventually.
