The Maranzanos – Episode 43&44

At the same time, Serafina’s monitor began beeping repeatedly, and she began gasping for breath on her bed.

Ignoring the chaos which just happened outside, the doctor ran back in, but Serafina stopped moving already when he got there, so he grabbed the defibrillators and began giving her shocks, hoping it’d work, but it was all fruitless till the fifth time, so he dropped them and staggered, sweating so much as he stared at her lifeless body on the bed.

She has been suffering in the hospital for months now, is this really the end?

Of all the doctors in the hospital, he’s the only one who really cares about her, and despite his tight schedule sometimes, he’d still come check on her, but it’s ending this way?

“No” he muttered and got the defibrillators again.

He was about to start giving her shocks again when Franklin held him back, and he turned to look at him. He was already crying too.

“Our efforts can’t go to waste. She’s the reason I refused to transfer from this hospital Franklin, she can’t go like this. You tried all your best and you’ve literally been living for her, she can’t leave” he cried, and Franklin knelt beside the bed.

“I wanna be alone with her” he said.

“Who’s the girl from earlier? Is she part of those who came to threaten to kill her the other time?” The doctor asked.

Franklin didn’t reply, so he left sorrowfully.

Franklin rested his head on Serafina’s body, and despite the tears in his eyes, he began smiling, an evil smile.

COSTELLOS CASTLE*

“A visitor?” Anthony asked when Neptune reported to him in the palace.

“He said he told you about it before coming, Royal is his name” she replied.

“Lead him in” Anthony replied, and Neptune left after a bow.

Three minutes later, Royal came in, and Anthony rested back on his chair.

“It’s good to see you again, second dad” Royal said, and Anthony smiled.

“Thought you forgot that name” he said.

“We were the closest when dad was still your bestie, remember?” Royal replied, and he smiled again.

“You didn’t tell me you’re back in Italy, heard you were exiled by your brothers and father” Anthony said.

“In a literal form, I left by myself. Came back after achieving the power I need. I’m gonna take back the woman I love and take the organization too, to destroy” he said, and Anthony raised his brows 

“I need your help with that, and in return, I get your wife and daughter out of the castle” Royal said, and Anthony spranged up.

“I know exactly what happened twenty three years ago, but I guess even you don’t know about it, and that’s why you’re blaming yourself, thinking you really killed my mother” Royal continued, and Anthony became speechless.

“Father was a woman beater back then, but no one knew cos he beats her in hidden places where the wounds will be covered. He never hits her on the face” Royal said.

FLASHBACK, 25YRS AGO*

As usual, Sergio did what he does best, beating Margaretta in the dark room till she was almost lifeless.

She barely escaped with tears in her eyes, and she started running out of the castle. 

“Margaretta!!!” Sergio screamed, running out to go after him with the horsewhip in hand.

Little Royal blocked him, but he pushed him out of the way.

“Get off me!! So annoying!” He yelled, dashing out while Royal cried on the floor with a wounded head as a result of the fall.

Margaretta drove out of the castle, heading straight to Costello castle to meet Anthony since he’s the only hope now.

She was barely breathing as she drove, and her hand was shaking on the wheel till she arrived at the castle.

She was allowed entry into Anthony’s palace where she met him with some dealers.

He sent them away immediately though, just to attend to her.

“Margaretta, what’s wrong? Talk to me” he held her shoulders.

“Something to… something to..drink” she said almost lifelessly, and Anthony snapped his fingers.

A maid brought in a fruit juice, and he handed it to her.

She started drinking, but immediately she took the third gulp, the cup fell from her, and she followed, landing on the ground with no breath left in her lungs.

“Margaretta!!” Anthony shouted, kneeling beside her to feel her heartbeats. She’s not breathing anymore!

“Margaretta!!!” He yelled fearfully, and Sergio rushed in.

“Margaretta!” He shouted and ran to them.

Immediately he felt her heartbeats and detected she’s not breathing anymore too, he quickly turned his face to Anthony slowly.

“What did you give to her!” He demanded.

“She can here panting, and I gave her fruit juice when she asked for something to drink” Anthony replied, and Sergio’s eyes widened when he saw the broken cup on the ground.

“Apple juice? She’s allergic to it bastard!!!! She’s allergic!!!” Sergio screamed out the lie, and Anthony’s eyes widened.

“You never told me Sergio, I was…

“It’s like poison to her system the moment she takes even a drop, but you gave her a cup of it? Anthony!!!!!”

FLASHBACK ENDS*

“What!” Anthony spranged up in utter shock.

“Mother was never allergic to fruit juice. In fact, that apple flavor was her favorite, and even if she was allergic, allergic never kills. You only allowed yourself to get used by my father. I bet you didn’t even know the kind of devil he was before you even made friends with him back then, he’s cruel” Royal said, and Anthony grabbed his biggest riffle sniper immediately.

He started storming out of the palace, but Royal held him back.

“Get out of my way Royal! He has my wife and daughter with him all because of a sin I never committed? I’d kill him!!!” He yelled.

“He’s not someone to be killed so easily, and you should thread gently if you want Mia to come out of there alive” Royal said.

“What do you mean?”

“Sergio is using her for an experiment. I think a dangerous hormone capsule was released into her bloodstream, and each time it rains, the hormone dissolves a bit, causing her to exhibit the characteristics of a fish throughout the rain. It takes years for the capsule to dissolve like I heard, and this year is the last year, which means her blood will be drained completely to Sergio’s body to complete the experiment. She’d die” Royal explained, and his eyes widened.

“What!”

“To ease the pain during the last rain, my agent in the castle had to block her passage, and with the disruption, I think Sergio would wanna force the capsule to dissolve so he’d finish the experiment faster, and that’s why we need to get Mia out of the castle before tommorow” Royal explained, and Greta rushed in.

“Boss! I eliminated the only family of the driver at pilgrims hospital, he should at least feel the pain you’re feeling” she announced.

“Pilgrims? Driver?… Wait.. Franklin’s sister?” Royal said shockingly.

“Franklin?” Anthony said.

“My agent in the castle, the one who’s gonna get Mia and your wife out!” Royal yelled, and Greta fell on her butt.

“Now it’s over, Franklin won’t focus! It’s over!” Royal shouted, and Anthony loaded the sniper with him immediately.

Before Greta could start begging, he gave her three consecutive shots on the head, and all the components of her head scattered on the ground as her body fell.

“What to do? What’s another way out? I was planning to steal Margaretta’s body from the church tonight” Anthony asked impatiently.

“Proceed with the plan, and I’d inform Sergio about it to distract him, so Franklin will carry on with getting Mia out.” Royal replied.

MARANZANOS CASTLE*

Franklin came back after he got Mia’s body embalmed in the hospital morgue, and he was staggering like a drunk person as he walked in.

He went to the lake, and unexpectedly, he met Mia there, sitting on her wheelchair beside the it.

” Tallest!” She shouted cheerfully, but immediately she noticed his mood, she stood from the wheelchair and limped to him.

“Franklin are you ok? You don’t look good” she said and touched his forehead to check his temperature, but he hit her hand away, and she fell on the ground.

“Stay back, I might just kill you if you don’t” he muttered hatefully, and she looked up at him slowly.

“Did I do something wrong? Franklin you’re…

“Stop talking!!!” He yelled, and she felt her throat shaking.

“I don’t understand, Franklin…

“Stop talking I said, stop!!!!” He yelled angrily, grabbing the wheelchair to throw into the lake.

Mia started crying, still sitting on the ground as he began walking away.

“Don’t turn your back on me!” She cried, loudly, but he didn’t budge till he got to the park and entered a car, driving madly out of the castle.

“What’s happening with him?” Armani muttered, stepping in immediately. He actually saw him drive out.

CAMPANIA BRIDGE*

Franklin stopped the car on the bridge and came down, slamming the door shut before walking to the rails.

He lightened a cigar for himself, smoking crazily as he got his phone with the other hand.

He went to gallery and there’s only one picture there. A picture of him and Serafina.

She even had to cry before he agreed to snap with her, and now, and now she’s….gone?

His tears fell on the phone screen, and Royal’s call came in on the phone immediately.

In anger, he threw the phone away.

BACK IN THE CASTLE*

Mia was still crying beside the lake when Luciano appeared, and immediately she looked up…

“Boss wants you at the hospital” he said, and she kept crying.

He forcefully pulled her up and took her to the park, putting her in the car.

Immediately she entered the car, that was all she could remember.

Luciano made a call to Sergio immediately.

“I got her myself, the preparations will start against tomorrow” he said and hung up, entering the car with her.

He drove out of the palace.

SERGIO’S PALACE*

Sergio dropped his phone on the stool, and he smiled as he glanced at the time.

It’s past 8, so it was already dark.

“Few minutes before tommorow” he muttered, and his phone rang again.

It’s anew number this time…

“An enemy or a friend?” He asked immediately he picked.

“I’m getting mother’s body from the church Sergio, she deserves to rest in peace after you killed her cruelly, stop me if you can” Royal’s voice said and hung up.

“Royal! Royal again!!” He yelled, and Rocco came in.

“Inform the R4, we’re storming the church! Now!!!”

LUCIANO’S LAB*

Luciano carried Mia into the lab on his shoulder, and he placed her on the appropriate chair which looks like a bed.

She’s still unconscious.

“Finally I’ll prove to Sergio that I’m what I said I am” he smiled and began connecting some wires into her nerves, several wires.

He even wore her a cap full of the wires, and he smiled creepily.

“Few hours left”
