Shawn was getting ready to leave his office to go pick Sofia from school. Just as he was tidying up his office, someone entered the office and interrupted him.
“Hello, Shawn,” a female voice said.
Shawn’s face turned curious, and he raised his face up to see who it was. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw a young, elegant woman in her early twenties, dressed in a red fitted short gown below her knees, black pencil heels that matched her bag, along with expensive jewelry around her neck and wrist. Her red lipstick was hypnotizing, and her fragrance filled the room.
“Cindy?” he called, surprised, standing up.
Cindy smirked, her gaze fixed on Shawn’s surprised look. “Long time no see, husband,” she said. Shawn’s face turned pale, and he gulped.

Meanwhile, back at school, Sofia was waiting for Shawn, who had promised to pick her up from school. Mabel was standing beside her, chatting with Troy on the phone.
Mabel’s face turned excited. “Troy said he is coming to pick me up.” She turned to see Sofia’s pale look. “What’s it?” She asked, concern etched on her face.
“I don’t know why Shawn is taking so long. He said he would come pick me up, and I’m trying to reach him, but his number is not connecting.”She said looking worried.
“Relax, network can be frustrating. Maybe he is on his way.” She said reassuring.
Sofia sighed, her eyes fixed on the gate, hoping to see Shawn.
Some minutes later, Troy drove into the school building. Mabel and Sofia saw him as he came down from the car. Mabel rushed into his arms, not minding if people were looking. Sofia smiled at them and stared at the gate to see if Shawn was coming from behind, but there was no sign of him.
“Come on Sofia, let’s go.” Troy call out to her.
Sofia’s face turned uncertain, and she moved to them. “I will wait for Shawn, he said he would come and pick me up.”
“Yeah, about that, he called me to pick you up because he can’t make it.” He said.
“Why?” Mabel asked curiously.
Troy’s face turned matter-of-fact. “Something came up, but he said he will meet us up at the cinema.”
Sofia became disappointed and she sighed sadly. Mabel moved to her side.
“Don’t worry, he will meet us there,” Mabel said. reassuring. They entered the car and zoomed off.
Shawn and Cindy arrived at an exclusive restaurant to chill and have a chat. They ordered a bottle of champagne and started drinking. She noticed his pale and worried look.
“It seems you are not happy to see me,” Cindy said, taking a sip from her drink.
“Why are you here, Cindy? It’s been fifteen years since you left this country, and now you are back.”
“I came back because of you, Shawn.” She smirked.
“Why?”
Cindy’s face turned serious. “To fulfill the promise we made to Father.”. Shawn sighed tiredly and gulped his drink. “What, have you forgotten about it?”
“Yes, I have. I don’t understand why you suddenly came back.” He said, getting pissed off.
“You know already, I am back so we can fulfill our marriage right, don’t tell me you forget about that too”.She stared at him, her eyes narrowing.
“Can I be sincere with you, this can’t happen, we can’t get married and we can’t be together. I have someone else already, and I love her so much. So I will advise you to move on and take that promise mentality we had with Father off your head.” He stood up to leave, his face turned resolute.
“Where are you going?”She asked looking furious.
“I have a date. I hate when I keep my woman waiting for too long.” He walked away, ignoring Cindy’s calling.
“Shawn! You can’t do this, this isn’t over!” She yelled out loud, her face red with anger.

An hour later, Troy arrived with the ladies at the cinema. They came down, and Nina and Jeff saw them and rushed over.
“You two are here already?”Mabel said happily.
Nina’s face turned cheerful, and she hugged Mabel. “Yeah, we just arrived not too long ago.”
Troy’s face turned friendly, and he shook hands with Jeff.
“That’s good.”
They noticed Sofia wasn’t in their conversation, and they turned to see her engrossed in her phone, looking sad.
Nina’s face turned concerned, and she moved to Sofia. “Sofia.” Sofia’s face turned up, and she looked at Nina. “Is everything okay? Your fiancé didn’t come with you?” Nina asked.
“Um, he…” She hesitated.
Shawn interrupted from behind, holding a bunch of red roses. “Right here.” Sofia’s face turned surprised, and she quickly rushed into his arms. He held her tight, and the rest smiled lovingly at them.
Sofia’s face turned tearful. “What took you so long?” She sniffed, and they pulled away from each other, and he caressed her face.
“I am sorry, something came up,” he said, giving her the roses. “Accept this as my apologies.”
Nina’s and Mabel’s faces turned amused, and they said in unison, “Aww!” They were tugged by their partners, Troy and Jeff.
Troy’s face turned impatient. “Can we go inside now? The movie is about to start.”
They went inside, each of them holding their woman.

Some hours later, the movie was over, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The ladies wouldn’t stop gossiping about it, their men watching them amusedly.
“I wish it never ends.” Mabel said, wistful.
“Me too, the main actor was so romantic.” Nina said dreamy. Jeff’s face turned playfully jealous, and he fake-coughed at Nina. The ladies giggled.
“How about we three come next to watch it together?” Sofia asked excitedly. Nina and Mabel nodded their heads, but their men behind them declined.
“No!” The three men said in a jealous tone, and the ladies giggled among themselves. The men moved to hold their women.
“Let’s call it a night.” Jeff said.
“Sure.” Shawn agreed.
They started bidding each other goodbye as they left.
Shawn and Troy came outside the building with their women and moved to their cars. Troy wrapped his arms around Mabel’s waist as he leaned against his car, the same thing with Shawn and Sofia.
“Did you have fun today?” Troy asked.
“Yes, I had a lot of fun, thank you.”She said smiling.
“You are always welcome. They smiled at each other, and Troy leaned closer, and they kissed softly. Sofia and Shawn watched them from their car and smiled.
“You two get a room.” Shawn tease.
Troy and Mabel broke out from the kiss. “Thanks for ruining the moment, Shawn.”Troy said rolling his eyes.
“You are welcome.” He smug.
They smiled at each other. Troy and Mabel entered their car and zoomed off, waving at them.
“Shall we? Everyone is gone; let’s go home.”She said smiling.
“We will, but first, let’s take a walk. I want to talk to you about something.” He took her hand, and they started walking.
They walked to the park, and Sofia’s face turned delighted as she saw many couples moving around, enjoying the atmosphere.
“This place is cool,” She said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Do you need something?”He asked firmly.
She was content, and she shook her head. “No, I am okay. I love moments like this with you.”
They stopped walking and faced each other. Shawn’s face turned adoring, and he caressed her face.
“Me too,” he said softly.
“So, what do you want to tell me?”She turned curious, and she smiled at him.
Shawn’s face turned serious, and he took her hands firmly. Their eyes interlocked, and Sofia’s face turned attentive, waiting for him to speak.
