The moth flapped it’s wings again after the bulb went off. It flew away from the lightless bulb and chased after another bulb far from it, leaving only the two people behind.

Skylar….

Staring straight at El Crow.

He was out of his suit.
Now, he wore one of his singlets and loose jean pants—minus the necklace.

The necklace was the first thing Skylar noticed was missing from his ensemble, and she immediately remembered she saw it around the neck of his wife to-be—Bellatrix.

He must have given it to her.
What a lovely, very cute couple.

Here she was, contemplating about her life and her living hope, but some are falling in love stupidly and even bestowing necklaces.

Her eyes went back up to his face, and the first thing she noticed on the face was his mouthside stitch.

It was something he could easily get a surgery to wipe away, but he decided to keep it? Maybe because his mother really cut him? Maybe it’s for preservation of memories.

Some people loved keeping memories no matter how ugly they were.

He must be a part of them.

But lucky him.

At least, he has a kind father.

The world is so kind to him.

Why couldn’t he be without parents like her? Why couldn’t he be pitiful and be a blood slave like her?

Why would he be a successful fighter from a very rich family?

Why was he still alive?

Why was Bellatrix a rich Cinderella? Why could she have everything she wished for? Just why?

The thoughts awoke a great surge of jealousy in her. It penetrated so deep it cleared off her drunkenness and enlarged her rage size.

She got up from her squat and nearly began walking away…

“Why were you inside my camping truck last night?” El Crow’s voice made her pause, smirking before turning around to face him.

He already stood too, still expressionlessly cold.

“Because I wanted to be,” she said with a resentful glare.

She’d never tell him it was because she wanted to give him the balm.

No. She’d never do that.

Why did she even think of going to give him the balm last night?

Cos obviously, he’s rich enough to hire top doctors to treat his bruises.

“And why the hell would you touch me?” He queried again.

These questions would just make her hate him more right now. “Because we made a bet.” She sneered. “If I win, you let me touch you. I did.”

“Won by inviting Marisa to the underground?” He came closer.

She shifted away.

“Don’t take a step closer to me!” She lifted a palm. “I hate the way you smell, talk, walk, and your entire perfect existence!” She snarled.

As she talked, she felt her jealousy pushing out every sentence, but does she care now?

No.

She has always been that unlikable girl who never gives a damn.

But despite her words, El Crow came closer again. She might be an i-don’t-give-a-damn girl, but he’s someone who never listens to the controlling words of others.

They’re almost the same.

Difference is he’s perfect with a loving father, but she’s so full of imperfections it’s crusty.

She doesn’t even know her parents.

“I hate the way you talk, walk and smell too. Damn, I even hate the way you look, but you could have retained your dignity by playing fair in the match!” He spat.

“I didn’t invite your mother!” She blew up. “She said she was gonna help, but my mind thought it meant additional trainings, but when she didn’t call for additionals, I took my mind off it that she forgot, only for her to appear in the ring! Listen, El Acheron… I’ll never seek help to beat you! I wouldn’t stoop as low as scratching your trauma just to take the crown! You and your mother? You both can go fuck each other!”

With that, she raised him her two middle fingers at him, then she grabbed a beer bottle from a nearby tray and walked away while gulping the beer addictively.

El Crow watched her retreating figure deeply till she disappeared between two corn stems.

He released the tense breaths he has been holding, but the popping veins on his neck refused to calm.

He intended to make them summon Inferno together, but now it doesn’t look like it’d be happening.

He hates this girl.

So much. He hates how his co+ck has been jerking at the remembrance of what she did to him last night. His anger blossomed too, and he swiftly turned around, looking for what to take his anger out on.

That was when he saw a girl struggling with a boy behind a thick row of corn stems.

“Let me go! I said…let go!…”

The boy was trying to tear off her clothes and have his way, but the girl was vehemently struggling, resisting.

And they both seemed sober.

“Let…me…go!!!” She yelled helplessly.

El Crow’s mind did the job, calling out the Aftermoor dagger.

He held out tight and took few fast steps to the scene. He didn’t alert them.

He stabbed the boy from the back, and the dagger came out of the boy’s chest in the front, piercing his heart.

He could only let out a low growl before staggering, his blood staining the girl as he fell to the ground.

El Crow’s eyes glinted faint blue with the dagger, and the boy’s body became a huge flash of light.

The light disappeared into the air like it never existed, and El Crow’s eyes returned to normal.

“First kill,” he muttered with a chuckle, feeling his nerves calming.

Now he only has to kill one more.

“Thank you!” The girl got up quick. “For teaching him a lesson! Thank you!” She bowed.

“Teaching him a… lesson?” El Crow’s brows knotted together.

“Yes! He was trying to rape me, and you killed him! I’ll make sure to tell this to my father!” She smiled brightly and rushed off.

El Crow looked at the dagger again.

She didn’t get scared?

She didn’t see the body disappearing into a flash of light?

She even thanked him?

Maybe she only saw what the dagger wanted her to see. After all, the dagger belonged to Inferno. That bastard.

“El!” Bishop’s voice came from behind.

He faced him.

Bishop smiled handsomely.

“You’re back?”

“Just now,” El Crow lied.

“Then why are you here? You should come join us. The games will soon start!”

“It won’t kill you to say THE GAME WILL SOON FUCKING START!” El Crow chuckled. “Why do you never use swear words?”

Bishop smiled again, and El Crow gave him a pat on the shoulder.

Bishop joined the team through El Crow, and it’s safe to say they used to be close before Bishop began running after Lovato.

“You’re the only one who looks sexy while saying swear words. I’ll look like a barbarian with it,” Bishop said.

With another light chuckle, El Crow followed him to the team spot.

—

Immediately Blade slipped inside Rosita, he felt her extreme wetness, and he instantly knew it couldn’t be ordinary. This wasn’t juices.

He pulled out, and she responded with a low grumble as she tilted up.

“What?”

“You’re on your period, Rosita,” he said when he saw blood on the condom around his c-ck.

“So?” She frowned.

“It’s dangerous for you, Rosi.” He quickly sat up. “Your blood type is fragile. If I fuck you through your period, you’ll surely bleed afterwards, and you’ll need transfusion again,” he explained.

Rosita tilted again, pulling down her top to cover her bra.

Of course he’s right.

If he fucks her through her menstruation, then she’d need serious blood transfusion from Skylar. And she already promised herself she won’t take Skylar’s blood.

The girl deserves some peace.

She slowly pulled her panty back up, mood completely ruined.

“Hey, Sita!” He held her face. “You only menstruate for two days, right? So it’ll be over tomorrow night. Let’s meet find a way to meet tommorow night and I promise to give you as much dick as you want, and—”

“Tommorow is the death anniversary, Blade. I can’t fuck tommorow,” Rosita cut in, and his palms left her face.

“Wait….” His eyes widened.

“Yeah.” She nodded. “Tomorrow is Darius’s death anniversary.”

“Fuck, I’m so sorry I forgot.” Blade hugged her tight. “I’m so sorry.”

Rosita hugged him back slowly. She wanted to hold back her tears, but she couldn’t do it.

She cried softly.

Darius was the best elder brother that ever existed.

—

Roy snatched a unlit cigarette from a random guy and put fire on it from his lighter, smoking as he crossed the large sea of rogues.

He couldn’t care less about Roselle’s rants anymore, but even as he tried to get far from her, she kept following like a stray dog.

“Roy! Roy I’m talking to you! Roy! Roy!!!!” She screamed behind.

He took another puff from his cigarette, jumping to get farther away from her, but Roselle suddenly plunged herself to the ground and began crying.

That was enough to make him stop and turn around. His arms fell.

“You can’t be serious.” He heaved as he walked back to her.

But even as he tried to coax and pet her, her tears refused to stop.

“Roselle….” He tried to wipe her tears.

“Tonight is not the night. It’s Darius’s death anniversary tommorow, and you’re being an absolute jerk! Where is the Roy who punished Renee and Quincy with me? Where’s the Roy who resented Skylar with me! Where is the Roy who hates Rosita with me!”

“Tommorow?” Roy’s eyes widened. “It’s…. your late elder brother’s anniversary tommorow?”

Roselle sniffled, and Roy tried to wipe her tears again, but she caught his wrist.

“Will El come to the anniversary service? I want him to come,” She asked as if he’s El Crow.

“That stitchmouth was Darius’s best and only friend. Of course he’d come,” Roy assured. “But it’s left for your mother to let him enter. You know the hatred between them, and the fact that he killed Darius.”

“El didn’t kill Darius!! How many times will I say it!!!” Roselle yelled, brutally hotheaded.

She stood, hissed and walked away.

“Roselle!” Roy called after her.

Roselle didn’t stop.

A girl bumped into her, and she didn’t even think before sinking her dagger into her chest.

The girl shattered and disappeared into a flash of light.

“What the f+k!” Roy gasped.

—

At the Enigmas spot, it was like a total ritual of silence.

Even after El Crow joined them, no one said a word. They were busy watching the platforms.

Just three signatures, and the petition would be complete.

Their cancellation would happen.

Everyone has that raw look of defeat on their faces. They’d stop being a team after several remarkable years.

“Everyone,” Lovato said, breaking the silence. “After we dismiss, I’ll probably find my way to Britain and become a maid in Princess Charlotte’s castle.” She shrugged.

“You and your obsession with Princess Charlotte,” Kent laughed lifelessly, nudging her.

“No one’s getting dismissed. We’re going nowhere,” El Crow said.

“Wait…the petitions are reducing!” Castle suddenly stood.

Blade stood with him.

“True! The petition signatures have reduced to four thousand!”

“Are people deleting their signatures?” Bishop muttered.

The rest of the team stood up one by one in that spot.

Everyone stood to their feet except El Crow who remained down.

But he was staring at his phone too.

He left the platform and began fishing for news on what’s going on.

And he got legit news immediately.

News said the daughter of the chief of the state council was saved from rape by El Acheron at the Rave Festival.

El Crow’s eyes thinned.

The girl from earlier?

She’s the Mayor’s daughter.

El Crow went back to the platform. Surprisingly, the signatures have reduced to hundred.

One hundred.

“Yes!!!!!!!!!” Lovato jumped on her toes. “I don’t even wanna know how it happened but yes!!!”

The team lost it’s initial silence, replaced by noisiness as members threw their arms around each other for tight hugs of togetherness.

“The team is back!” Blade hugged Kent, and Kent hugged Bishop.

Lovato threw her arms around Castle, but he immediately gave her a hard push which drove her to the ground with bruised elbows.

She remained on the ground, looking up at Castle horrifically.

Castle wasn’t even looking at him.
He was busy on his phone.

Bishop saw her on the ground and just decided he’d mind his business.

“Is that the ace of team Dread? The bi+ch looks drunk!” Kent laughed, pointing at a direction.

Nearly all Enigmas looked in that direction.

Skylar sat there, drinking her seventh bottle of alcohol alone.

Her cropped top tonight says YOU CAN’T HATE A LIFELESS GIRL.

El Crow’s eyes lifted from his phone and stared at her too.

“She’s drunk?” Lovato scoffed. “That’s rare. This bitch never gets drunk.”

“Is she ok though?” Bishop muttered.

“Didn’t we swear to hate her to death?” Castle disagreed. “Why is everyone acting concerned.”

“Because we’re humans, Senior Castle,” Blade said. “Everyone knows the reason she was brought to Dread House was to be a blood bank for Rosita and Roselle.”

“What!” El Crow’s eyes furrowed. “What did you just say?”

“You didn’t know?” Kent blinked. “Oh of course you didn’t know cos you hate hearing any gist about her.”

“I heard she’s Apex blood,” Bishop said. “You know…those strange blood types… and Satan’s twins are Null, so she’s their blood bank.”

The screen of El Crow’s phone went off as he continued staring at her.

Skylar lifted the liquor to her lips again, but before she could take another gulp, Quincy and Renee appeared from nowhere.

Quincy snatched the bottle.

“No you can’t drink a drop again. Are you trying to hurt yourself? You’re drunk, Skylar,” He scolded sternly.

“Since when did alcohol started killing people?” She hissed and snatched the bottle back.

Renee took it from her.

“Look, I don’t like you, but I’m trying my best to. Can you not drink anymore? You’ll get sick.”

“Bold of you to think I’d actually listen to you!” Skylar snatched the bottle back again.

It was snatched from her again, but this time, by Rosita. When Skylar looked up to see her, she rolled her eyes.

“You have no idea how much I hate seeing this face of yours…”

“Whatever you heard from Ayana is not the end of the world, Baddie. C’mon! Don’t drink yourself to death!”

Skylar nodded. “Nice preaching. “Where’s your Bible? Are you gonna tell me about Jesus too? How many fuckin disciples? Were there 24? Or 34… somewhere around 30…”

Instantly, the string bulbs around the corn stems went off, plunging the farm into complete darkness.

Everyone lost themselves. Darkness swallowed them, and they had to start searching through the dark with their hands.

Skylar wasn’t even aware of herself.
She just knew she was walking, staggering, terribly drunk.

“Shit…this….ugly night has to end…” She laughed to herself. “I wonder what my parents would be doing right now. Sleeping? Crying? Laughing? Or thinking about me?”

She paused in the dark, frowning.

“I’d prefer the crying, cos why would they allow me to be taken by…this Satanic bitch…”

Someone suddenly touched her in the dark—obviously a harasser judging by the way he groped her ass.

She knocked whoever it was with her elbow, but he came back more determined and touched her hips.

Her mind worked with her hand.
The dagger appeared, and she drove it into the person without waiting.

The flash of light happened, swallowing the harasser.

Skylar’s eyes remained aglow till the dagger vanished again.

“Wait…did I just…kill someone?” She asked herself drunkenly, laughing again and staggering.

But she didn’t fall.

The lights came back on, but this time, it wasn’t the ghost face bulbs anymore. They were smaller dimming bulbs like fireflies.

With the lights on, one could barely see beyond two steps.

Skylar stayed where she stayed, and that was when she noticed she’s in front of someone.

Or rather…

Someone is in front of her.

Seeing the face, she rolled her eyes.

“It’s the perfect cocaineboy….” She chuckled, pointing at his face. “How does it feel to have a father?”

El Crow revealed the marker he was holding—a temporal marker.

“In case you don’t notice, it’s the first game minute. The drawing game, and I’m stuck with you,” he said.

He had picked the marker from the game tray before the yellow bulbs went off, but now that he found her first, she’d be the one to draw.

He sat on a small rock, and she also sat on the opposite rock in the middle of the farmland.

But instead of drawing, she kept staring at him, drunkenly.

She looked like she’d fall asleep anytime soon with those drowsy eyes.

El Crow sighed eventually. “Have you attended this before?”

“Why would I attend a rave organized for gays?” She curved her lips.

“The game is to draw the exact thing on your mind on your partner’s face,” He instructed.

“Why your face?” She squinted. “I don’t even want to….” She reached for his cheek and pulled the left side, chuckling. “Touch you…”

“Are you in or out?” He pushed her hand away with a slap.

“Don’t be rude!” She snapped, dragging herself closer.

Everyone else was currently doing the drawing exercises on their partner’s faces, so it was quiet on the farmland.

She went between his laps and bent her knees a little, lifting his chin with her fingers.

She began drawing.

She looked so serious he half-thought she was drawing something cool. He made sure he wasn’t shaking, but he wouldn’t stop staring at her face as she drew attentively.

He could feel every little swish-swash of the cold marker mouth against his face, and he genuinely relaxed for her.

He just stared.

Skylar’s eyes darted once, and she looked him in the eye too, deeply.

El Crow looked down immediately, snapping back to blankness.

She resumed drawing whatever she was drawing, but she only added a few more strokes before her legs gave out below her.

Her drunkenness finally got a hold of her.
She swayed back, falling.

Standing, El Crow quickly tendered his arms, catching her before she’d land on the ground.

When she breathed out in her unconscious state, her breaths smelled like beer. She must have drank close to ten bottles.

“Skylaar…” He muttered.

Her right eye opened slowly.

“It’s Skylar. Why are you always adding an extra A, you bastard.” She hissed before shutting her exhausted eyes again.

This time, her sleep was deep.

She didn’t even shake no more.

No wonder she was easy to lift in the ring. She’s so weightless.

Does she even eat?

“Skylar!” Rosita appeared with Quincy.

They quickly took her from El Crow.
They didn’t even say anything to him before jointly taking her away.

El Crow didn’t wait anymore.

It was time to leave. He left the farm and went for his car at the main road. He got in and took a bottled water, having a sip.

Dropping it, he took his phone and dialled one of his ARDEN executives.

“You know Satan Osborne?” He asked to be very sure.

“I know everyone around your fighting career.”

“Get me anything you can find about how she took Skylar Vox into her team. I need every single detail.” El Crow instructed.

“I’m on it sir.”

The call dropped, and El Crow threw his head back on the seat.

That was when he noticed his face.
What she drew on it.

He quickly shot up, turning the front mirror to himself.

Right on his left jaw was a drawing of his dî+k! The curvy stuff with cum dripping out of it.

He nearly wiped it, but just for evidence sake, he got his phone and took a picture of his face.

—

[Marisa’s Manor]

The woods was shaking, vibrating, tilting.
The birds on the trees flew around happily as the sound of Marisa’s piano dominated.

Her tunes were always haunting,
But this one was extra.

It’s like the melody was taking shape from the nutrients of the soul and the fluids from the trees and cold from the air.

The dried leaves from the trees around the house fell one by one.
The birds cried louder.

Two of the black Raven birds collided into each other, and their bodies dropped on the ground, bloody and lifeless.

The dried leaves on the ground swept over El Crow’s grave at the backyard.
A crack formed on the tombstone.

Inside the house, the stewards stayed behind Marisa in the repaired piano room as she played the new piano with her eyes closed.

They were smiling.

The window slammed violently without anyone pushing it, and a heavy—really heavy rain started in the city.

“Do you even know who El Crow is?” Marisa asked suddenly, standing up and facing the stewards.

The stewards confused exchanged glances.

“Do you know who he is exactly? Do you know how many people will be after him once his real identity gets revealed?” Marisa continued.

The stewards still couldn’t talk.

Marisa smiled.

“Is my clothes for the two weddings ready? Prepare black dresses for the two weddings,” she instructed.

“Yes, Ma.” They bowed.

—

[Next Morning – Montgomery Nurseries]

The caregivers said the kids were going outside the nursery for morning jog. Everyone is ready for the run already in their gears.

As usual, Eden stood out.

While other kids wore old gears, hers was new, sparkling, and posh. A typical rich kid vibe.

Even her hair had multicolored rollers which she smartly set by herself.

The other kids stared at her with great envy as they lined up to enter the car that’d take them.

She was the last in line.
When she made to enter, her personal caregiver pushed her from behind.

Her forehead slammed brutally on the car body, and she bled a little.

She didn’t even look at the woman or cry out like the woman expected.

She entered the car, and the woman have her a disdainful look. “Old-faced witch!”

She got in the car with other caregivers, and the nursery driver drove them out to the nearest children’s park.

The kids filed out of the bus, and their jogs around the park started, undisputed.

As they jogged, they sang nursery rhymes to match their pace.

But soon, behind a unhidden corner, Eden noticed something.

Her blood froze completely.

A man in suit with a BAX brooch.

The fear she hadn’t felt since she got to the Nursery came back.

She quickly got her phone.

—

[Dread House]

Satan and her daughters set out early.
At 8, they were filing out of the house.
Everyone wore black.

Including midnight.

Satan wore black hat too, and she held the bird cage. The bird attends Darius memorial yearly, and this year won’t be any different.

Midnight followed after them, and then every member of the team began filing out too.

Every single one of them.

No one would say they don’t know Darius Osborne, the best male fighter of this team when he was alive.

Everyone honours him yearly.

But Skylar is missing.

She wasn’t part of the crowd.

Still hungover from last night, she remained in bed in her bedroom, tossing around with headache under the thick, thick covers.

It was her workout alarm which woke her. She stretched her hand from under the covers and took the alarm. She tossed it across the room.

She managed to push herself to sit up, and she saw the cracked alarm screen on the ground.
There’s a reminder on it.

Dario’s anniversary.

She quickly got down from bed.

Darius might be Satan’s son, but he wasn’t like Satan at all. Far from her.

When she grew up to meet herself here as a kid, Darius was the only one who showed her kindness in this house. He shared his food with her, always. He was always smiling.

Darius was the kindest boy alive.

Till he died just like that.

Of course she attends his anniversary yearly, and this year won’t be different despite her dangerously ticking headache.
She began stripping, aiming to go for a short shower and dress up.

But her phone dinged, disturbing her rowdy thoughts again.

She picked the phone up, only to see a notification that made her mouth come tragically wide.

• Wedding program in six days!

—

[Enigma House]

El Crow knew Satan would never allow him into the anniversary service.
She has never allowed him.

After all, Enigmas and Dreads became enemies after Darius’s death. But he’s still gonna go, even if he’s gonna stay outside throughout the memorial service.

He’s dressed in a black shirt and slacks, ready to go for the memorial, but he stayed by that wall, staring at Darius’s smiley picture.

“Wish you weren’t dead…” He muttered with heavily clogged voice, filled with unsaid sorrow he couldn’t easily forget.

His eyes looked grievous too.

His phone betrayed his moment by buzzing.
He retrieved the phone and saw a message floating there.

• Wedding program in 5days.

His eyes widened.

“What wedding?”

But he hasn’t even digested that when he received a call. Seeing Eden’s number, he quickly picked the call.

“Brother…I…we came out for jogging, but I’m seeing the villains again. I think the bad guys are following me.”

“Came out?” His eyes widened again. “Why the fuck would they take you out of the Nursery!”

He dipped his hand in his hair, and the call ended. “Eden?” He dialled the line again.

It kept dropping.

Sensing danger, he rushed to his window, and he luckily met Skylar’s window open across.

She was by the window too.

He quickly wrote a note and attached it to a knife, throwing it to her.

Skylar was still boiling about the message she received, but she caught it anyways, and she unwrapped.

• Eden is being followed.

She read with a straight face and instantly wrote back.

She threw it at him with the knife too, and immediately he caught it, she shut her window.

El Crow unwrapped the note,…

• Her business is not mine. I’m not her mother.

El Crow didn’t wait anymore.

He rushed out.

—

[Children’s Park]

Eden made sure to stick tightly with the other kids. They were instructed to jog in a straight line, but she refused.

She gummed herself to the middle of taller kids and kept going, panicking, slightly trembling, avoiding to look back.

The caregiver took her phone earlier during her call with El Crow. She’s helpless now.

She couldn’t even sing the rhymes anymore. He felt her knees freezing.
Her mind was getting muddled.

Fear continued licking the back of her neck as she gulped repeatedly. She could feel the closeness of the follower… closer.

Closer.

Clo…

A echoing gunshot rippled through the air, and the kids scattered.

Even the caregivers ran.
They were the first to run off, leaving the kids to the mercy of the gunshots that kept coming from different unpredictable angles.

Eden ran with the others, but she couldn’t take two short steps before she was gripped tightly by the back of her neck.

Her mind shredded.

“No no no!!! Leave me alone!!!” She burst into hot piping tears.

The cute rollers in her hair fell off.

“Leave me alone!!!!”

She could already smell gunpowder and danger… and metal.

They were definitely her Master’s men.
The bad men.

“Leave me alone!!!!” She cried again as she got dragged like a dirt bag.

“Leave me….”

“Let go of her!!!” El Crow’s powerfully raspy voice broke into the scene as he appeared from the side of the fountain.

He stood there, panting, sweating cos he had rushed his drive here.

But they didn’t even wait.

It was like they came with freshly renewed confidence this time.

But the worse part was that he couldn’t move more than that.

He couldn’t fuckin move.

Like something was tying him down, restricting his legs and control.

“No….” He sounded, desperate and shocked. “Inferno…this isn’t the time to be a jerk!!! Eden!!!” He screamed, trying to move again.

But he couldn’t.

“Brother!!!” She cried louder.

“Eden!” He responded.

If Skylar was here, maybe super strength would work like the other time, but she wasn’t here.

He was helpless.

He couldn’t just stay still and watch this catastrophe happen in front of him.

He resorted to the only way—his gun.

He aimed protectively at the man holding Eden.

But that was a mistake.

Immediately he pulled the trigger, the man let go of Eden, kicking her forward,

To the gunpoint.

The bullet caught her straight by the chest, knocking life out of her.

The gun fell from El Crow.

A scream followed.
