Goodbyes and Promises
As Vincenzo’s departure date approached, he still had this feeling of staying back but remembering Freya had wanted this too, he knew he had to go. If not for himself, but for her. Before leaving for the airport, he decided to see Freya and say goodbye to her, the girl who had stolen his heart.
It was an emotional challenge he had to face.
As he knocked softly on her door, he couldn’t wait to see her face once again. It’s more like seeing her face played a role in his life, like a renewed reconstruction has been made in his heart.
Freya wheeled her chair to the door since Myra wasn’t with her at the moment. She opened the door with a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms.
Vincenzo’s throat tightened with emotion, making it difficult to utter the words he so desperately wanted to say. But he composed himself and looked into her eyes, reassuring her that he would be back soon.
“I promise you, Freya,” Vincenzo began, his voice sincere, “I will return as soon as possible. This journey is important to me, but so are you. I can’t bear the thought of being away from you for too long.”
Freya nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “I’ll be waiting for you,” she whispered, trying to hold back the emotion in her voice.
“I know,” Vincenzo said, gently brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. “And while I’m gone, I want you to promise me some thing too. Promise me that you’ll take care of yourself and be safe.”
“I promise,” Freya replied, her voice determined. “But why do you look so worried, Vincenzo?” She asked, it was obvious on his face that he wasn’t totally fine.
Vincenzo sighed, his expression growing serious. “There’s some thing you should know. I have a feeling that Kelly might become a problem for us while I’m away. Since she’s always been a pain in the ass, I fear she might try to take advantage of my absence.”
Freya’s brows furrowed with concern. “That’s right. What should we do?”
Vincenzo’s eyes softened as he spoke, “I’ve already spoken to Myra about it. Since she’s the only closest thing to you, and I trust her to keep an eye on you. Please, lean on her for support if you ever feel unsafe or need some one to talk to.”
Freya nodded, grateful for Vincenzo’s thoughtfulness and trust in her best friend. “I’ll be okay, Vincenzo. I’ll miss you terribly, but I’ll be strong.”
“I believe in you,” Vincenzo said, pulling her into a warm embrace. “And remember, I’ll be back before you know it.”
Bruised Face
The time for Vincenzo’s departure finally arrived, and as he hugged Freya tightly, he felt a bittersweet mix of emotions. Stepping away from her, he looked into her eyes once more, trying to memorize every detail.
His lips met with hers in an unexpected manner. Freya’s eyes bulged open in surprise as she didn’t see it coming, but after a while, she relaxed, responding to his kiss. It was a deep and passionate one, a kiss like no other.
This isn’t her first kiss, she had kissed Dento, her Kate boyfriend, but never had she felt this sparkle sensation that keeps running in her veins.
She curled her hand to the back of his neck, pulling his face a little closer to have more of his kisses. And it felt as if not doing so, his kiss wouldn’t be enough for his long absence.
The kiss lasted longer than she had expected. In a whisper, he proclaimed the words to her. “I love you, Freya,” he confessed, feeling a weight lift off his chest with those three words.
Freya’s eyes widened in surprise, but then a smile graced her lips. “I love you too, Enzo. Go and conquer the world, and come back to me soon.”
With one final lingering look and a kiss on her lips, Vincenzo turned and walked away, his heart heavy yet filled with a new found love. He was so determined to return to Freya as soon as he could, to continue their beautiful moments together and face whatever challenges that came their way.
Be it from Kelly, or from any other man. He was just so ready to stand by her side, to love her to the fullest and to prove to her how much he meant every thing to her, especially now that he’s won her heart.
No man deserves her more than he does.
“I’ll miss him.” Freya said, staring out of the window. “I will miss him so much.”
Myra blushed. “Aww. I love where this is going.”
Freya smiled. “I never thought I’d feel this way for him. I mean, I used to hate him, but now I’ve realized I can’t stay without him.”
“Don’t worry, I trust Mr Vincenzo on this. Even if the trip is meant to be a four day trip, for your sake, he’ll make it two.”
“Come on, Myra, you’re so hyping my relationship with Enzo.”
“You just don’t know how excited I am right now, Freya. This is the most exciting moment in my life. Can’t you see how sweet he is? Aww, I have never seen him act this way towards Kelly.”
“But he once loved her.”
“Yeah, he did though.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Poor thing he doesn’t love her the way he used to and I am grateful for the change of interest.”
“Ouch. That hurts, Myra.”
“Not to me. Dah. Ehh, did he kiss you goodbye kiss?”
Hearing that question, Freya began to blush. “Geez, Freya, I only asked a question.” Myra was laughing at her.
She couldn’t hold back the excitement and memory of how her kiss with Vincenzo went. It was the best she’s ever had, and would always be the best. “It was cool, huh?” Myra asked.
“It wasn’t just cool, it’s the best I have ever had. I’ll admit, Enzo is a good kisser.”

Who’s gonna kiss me like Enzo 🥺🙈
Just when Myra was about leaving Freya’s room, she was shocked to see Kelly standing before the door, like she had some how knew Myra was going to open the door.
Myra frowned. “You ” She fused. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, I just thought I should check up on her.”
Myra crossed her arms around her chest. “Thanks, but Freya is doing fine without you.”
Kelly rolled her eyes. “I didn’t come here to argue or fight with you if that’s actually what you want. I came for Freya, so please, get out of my way.”
“I’m not letting you in.” Myra insisted.
“Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do and where to go. Besides, you’re nothing but a maid.” Her words hurt Myra so deep in the heart that the frown in her face grew deeper.
Kelly laughed at her facial expression. “Oh, didn’t expect you would let your ego down for a little word. You know what, if you don’t wanna get more hurt than you already are, then do yourself a favor by getting out of my way.” She ignored Myra even as she stood there, weakened to retaliate.
“Myra, is every thing alright?” Freya asked, she’s been hearing voices of both Myra and Kelly conversing. But then Myra stopped talking, and she was wondering what the problem was. “Myra, is every thing…”
She was cut short by the entrance of Kelly. “Hello, Freya.” She smiled.
“You.” Freya pointed. “What are you doing here?”
“Was trying to explain to your friend that I only want to check on you but… she was being so stubborn and insisting.”
“What did you do to her?” Freya questioned
“Nothing. She’s just standing outside the door, thinking of her life. Who wants to know?”
“You’re not supposed to be here, Kelly. I don’t care about your concern for me and I honestly don’t appreciate it either, so please just leave my life alone.”
“Who said I was trying to walk into your life?” She looked around while saying that they weren’t the only ones in the room. “Is it now a crime to care?”
“Kelly, we both know you don’t care about me. All you’ve had for me since day one is hatred and a chance to have me out of this mansion. So, give me one good reason why I should believe you?”
“Look, it’s not like I actually want you to believe me, no. Like you said, yes we weren’t on good terms before. But please, for once learn that people do change. Vincenzo has always wanted your brother dead but ended up not killing you. He locked you up in the cell for months and treated you like a slave.
Then all of a sudden, he’s treating you like a princess. You never thought of the past and how mercilessly he had made your life, yet you found a thousand reasons to fall in love with him. Then mine doesn’t mean any thing to you? Huh? Because I’m not some kinda Cinderella prince or what?”
“Vincenzo might have a bad character, but he’s got his reasons. You, we don’t even know each other, we’ve never even met before. Then all of a sudden you just picked hatred for me. You have no reason why, I never stole from you, I never took your boyfriend, but you just hated me so much!
And yes, I do have a thousand reasons to love Enzo, because he is more than just an evil man. He is kind, he was there for my brother. Even in the thirst of wanting him dead, he never killed him. You are different from him, Kelly, totally different from him.”
Kelly rolled her eyes. “You still haven’t changed, have you?”
“You still haven’t changed either. Still being the pocky and annoying one all the time.” Kelly frowned. “I shouldn’t even be talking to you, no one wants me talking to you, Enzo doesn’t want me talking to you.”
“Enzo? Huh?” She scoffed, chuckling. “I see your closeness to him has become deeper than I thought. I’m the only one who calls him that, you shouldn’t be calling him Enzo.”
“I’m sorry, what should I call him then, Ms. Name giver?”
“Find some thing else, some thing not close to Enzo.”
Freya scoffed. “Excuse me, it’s not even a pet name or some thing. Enzo is his name, so why should I bother my innocent life calling his name in full? Come on, Kelly, we both know Enzo wouldn’t even want me stressing myself. And hey, Enzo and I are now together, he loves me so much and he will appreciate me calling him whatever name I want to. I can call him names you never ever thought of.”
Kelly took a deep breath, the anger in her was hotly burning. “Oh, I see. Just a slight chance you’ve grown an eagle’s wings already? Well, I’ll show you what it means to mind your fucking words!”
She went to bolt the door so no one could interfere in what she was going to do. Freya’s eyes opened, she was scared of what Myra is going to do with her. Especially in her current condition, she can’t save herself from Kelly’s wrath.
“What’s wrong with you, Kelly? Haven’t you had enough already?”
“I would have said yes, but tsk tsk tsk…” She shook her head, “The way you talk really irritates me.”
Freya wheeled her chair backwards as Kelly slowly walked forward to her. “Stay back, Kelly. I don’t wanna do this with you.”
“Don’t worry, I ain’t gonna kill you, but at least, I’ll do some thing that’s gonna be worse than death itself.” She brought out the small knife she had hid underneath her gown which she had tied on her thigh.
Freya was scared, she couldn’t defend herself. She couldn’t fight for her freedom and she was beginning to miss those days when she had normal legs.
“Kelly… just stop this! You don’t wanna do this.”
“I really do wanna do this as soon as possible. I wanna watch you scream and cry. I wanna take that beauty off your face so Vincenzo will have no reason to look at your face.”
“Kelly, please… don’t do this to me.”
“Shut up!” She yelled. “Don’t do this to you? When you stole Enzo from me, did you consider that? When you made him love you over to me, did you consider that either? Now, you want me to consider? Fucking. Hell. No.” She places the knife on Freya’s cheeks.
Freya was vibrating in fear as Kelly stood just next to her with the knife on her cheek. She can imagine the pain whenever she mistakenly runs a knife on her fingers, but she can’t imagine the pain when it’s running round the face.
The fear was another reason Kelly was loving what she was about to do. “Maybe after I am done, no one will tell you to leave this mansion for good and stay clear away from my boyfriend.”
“Please. Please, Kelly don’t do this to me. Let me go and I promise I will never fall in love with Vincenzo. I promise to stay away from him and never have him in my life. Just…” She swallowed hard. “Just please… don’t hurt me.”
“I would have considered your words, but some thing tells me not to believe you. You’re such a funny fragile girl I shouldn’t trust.” While she said those, Kelly was already moving the knife deep into her skin.
Freya was yelling, screaming in her voice as blood slowly gushed out of the wounds. “Stop! Stop, please! Please, don’t hurt me!”
“Poor thing I already am.”
On hearing her screams and yells, Myra and the other maids rushed to Freya’s room but the door was bolted. They banged and banged but they weren’t able to push the door. Myra rushed to the sitting room to call Vincenzo with the landmark but it says; “The number you dialed is not available.”
Since he was in a different country, he wasn’t using the same country code. When she got back, the door was still closed. She was scared Vincenzo would have her dead, her heart was racing in fear that she had broken her promise with him.
However, Kelly was sure she had bruised Freya’s face to her satisfaction, she sliced a part of her back, causing her to fall to the ground. Though her fractured leg was healing, the pain she felt due to the force of the fall, she yelped.
The front side of her clothes were stained with blood and she just can’t stop crying at the pain she is feeling. Kelly majestically walked to the door, unbolting it. When she opened it, the maids paused. They were all staring at her until she was out of the room.
Myra rushed inside, taking Freya in her arms. “I’m sorry, Freya, I’m so sorry she did this to you. If only I didn’t leave, none of this would have happened. Some one get the first aid kit!”
