Shock was an understatement to what Emily was feeling at the moment, she palmed her mouth in surprise.
She wasn’t the only one who was shocked, the few customers in the coffee shop were just as shocked.
James tumbled in his chair and he’s currently on the floor while angry fire rolled off Caden aggressively.
James groaned in pain and his hand went to his broken nose, blood tickling down.
Shît, this would be on tomorrow’s headlines if not today’s!
“What the hell Caden!” Emily finally found her voice.
At this point, everyone was staring at them in anticipation, no one dared to come close, they just watched the drama unfold from afar.
“Is this what you decided to do after throwing a tantrum last night?” Caden finally faced Emily with a burning gaze.
He had gone to her room when he woke up this morning to talk to her since he couldn’t sleep last night only to find out she was gone.
He was already on his way to work when he saw her car parked outside this coffee shop.
“That isn’t an excuse to punch someone, he is bleeding for f+k sake!” Emily retorted, she quickly made her way to James. “Are you alright?” She asked in concern as she bent down to touch him.
Before James could respond Caden held Emily’s wrists and pulled her away. “Don’t touch him” Caden hissed.
“Let go of me!” Emily snarled at him but that didn’t get Caden to release her, he tightened his grip on her even more.
“We’re leaving this place” Caden said and dragged a struggling Emily out of the coffee shop.
Emily gave a few glances to James as he tried to stop his broken nose from bleeding.
Her eyes ran through the coffee shop, everyone was staring.
She’s so f+ked!
So much for not wanting to appear on the headlines of New York City.
Caden got to his car. “Get in” he ordered and Emily wanted to refuse but that would only bring more drama and she has already had enough embarrassment for the bright morning.
She quietly got in but she was still fuming.
Caden got in too and drove away. “My car,” Emily said, looking straight ahead, not even bothering to look at Caden.
“I would send someone to pick it up” Caden replied and the car fell silent.
“You shouldn’t have done that” Emily started, cracking the silence.
“You shouldn’t have met him after we clearly argued about him just last night” Caden retorted.
“You broke his nose and the only reason I met with him is because I was so damn mad at you” Emily yelled.
“So now it’s my fault?” Caden scoffed.
“Yes it is, you believed Lia… Who was supposed to be blocked, over me! Your wife!” Emily screamed.
“There was evidence” Caden countered.
“You’re completely ignoring the Lia topic, why didn’t you block her?” Emily complained.
“I forgot! she wasn’t important enough for me to remember to block her, I haven’t even spoken to her since that day at my office” Caden explained.
“Seriously” Emily asked in surprise.
With the way Lia was sitting on his lap and how she clearly threatened her the other day she thought there was definitely something going on between them.
“Yes.. that’s why I am so pissed that you talked with James and even held his hands” Caden gritted, the topic sounded bitter on his tongue.
“I didn’t hold his hands, that was definitely photoshopped but I agree, I did talk to him because he came to see me and we didn’t even talk for more than 10minutes” Emily defended.
“Why did you talk to him anyway?” Caden asked.
“I don’t know, am I supposed to ignore him?” Emily said.
“Yes!” Caden replied, his eyes darting towards Emily every once in a while but he mostly kept his focus on the road to avoid accidents. “You can’t make me crazy about you and go ahead to entertain James Carter and his bûllshit,” Caden said.
Emily’s gaze snapped towards him fast. “You’re crazy about me?” Emily asked carefully, she didn’t think she heard him right.
Caden parked the car roughly in a nearby space his eyes spotted and then he turned to Emily. “I have never been this crazy about anyone my entire life, you fill my thoughts with your face every single day since we met, you invaded my personal space, I only sleep better when I think of you so yes I am crazy about you!” Caden blurted out.
Emily found herself at a loss for words, she didn’t know what to say.
“Really? I didn’t just tell you all that for you to go quiet on me Emily” Caden frowned.
“I have no idea how to respond to a confession like that, I am still angry at you for not trusting me enough” Emily replied.
“That’s all?” Caden said, sounding disappointed.
“This isn’t easy for me given your reputation before we got married, I didn’t even want to get married to you, I tried to do hard to not so much as care about you but I guess it’s pretty damn hard to not fall for your husband even if he was a damn playboy” Emily replied.
“‘was’ I like that tense, not anymore, I only know one woman now and I am looking at her right now” Caden said. “I get your fear but I promise you I would never cheat on you, not in the lifetime, I swear it” Caden assured.
“How am I supposed to keep my feelings in check when you say things like that?” Emily snorted and Caden smirked.
“You don’t have to” Caden replied leaning closer, his face inches apart from hers. “I love you Emily, we may not have started off as a real couple but I want us to be a real couple” Caden whispered, his breaths slightly irregular. “Tell me you want that too,” Caden said eagerly.
Emily paused for a brief second. “I love you and I want that too” Emily replied and Caden claimed her lips.
Emily pulled away from the kiss and Caden groaned. “We are still in the car and I have to get to work, not now” Emily said trying to steady her breaths.
“I honestly wish the world would obliterate into nothingness” Caden sighed and turned on the car engine making Emily chuckle lightly.

{LIA’S CAR~3PM}
Lia was applying her lipgloss to her lips in front of her car mirror with a smile, the car was parked at the parking lot of Kingston’s enterprises.
What happened at the coffeeshop this morning was already at the tabloids, Lia wasn’t expecting that but she loved it.
Someone recorded the occurrence and that’s basically what everyone is talking about. Emily received most of the brute and a whole lot of insults for talking to her husband’s rival and that alone made Lia a happy mess.
Caden didn’t reply to the photo she sent so she thought her plan failed but Emily made things easy for her by meeting up with James.
She wasn’t satisfied with how Caden dragged Emily out of the coffee shop. That’s why she planned on releasing the photo she had, Emily would be old news soon enough.
She smiled at her reflection and picked up her Chanel handbag before walking into the company.
She wore skimpy clothes, after all she was going to cheer up Caden because his wife cheated on him.
Lia ignored the stares from the workers and made her way to Caden’s floor in her high heels, she couldn’t stop admiring her reflection while she was on the elevator.
She walked towards Caden’s office with a bright smile and pushed the door open.
Caden was so busy on his laptop he didn’t even notice her come in.
“Caden! I miss you so much” she squealed and hurried to hug him.
She hasn’t seen him in a while, she only has his pictures to comfort her and she can’t contain her happiness now that he is in front of her.
Caden removed her grip from him with a frown, he wondered how she got in here then he remembered George hasn’t been coming to work recently.
He has been too busy.
“What are you doing here?” Caden snarled.
“What kind of a question is that, I came to see you obviously” Lia replied innocently.
“I’m busy, please leave” Caden replied tightly, he wasn’t supposed to be talking to her.
Emily would flip if she found out and he can’t start having problems with her after they just settled their last feud.
“Caden…. Don’t be like this, I dressed up just for you” Lia pouted as she rubbed her hands on his chest seductively.
Caden gripped her hand tightly. “Don’t” he gritted. “I’m married In case you’ve forgotten” he reminded and Lia scoffed.
“You’re married to a woman who cheats on you, she doesn’t deserve you” Lia retorted.
“I was going to overlook your behavior considering we’ve been friends but the next time you try that I would not overlook it” Caden warned.
Lia flinched, was he talking about the photo she sent?
Did he notice it was photoshopped?
“She met up with James Carter, everyone knows you both are struggling for the COO position and she was talking to him!” Lia said sharply.
“What my wife does is none of your business Lia, stay away from my wife and from me or you won’t like my retaliation to your actions” Caden replied sternly and pushed her away from him.
Lia lost her stamina due to the freakishly long heels she wore and she fell to the ground.
She looked at Caden with pain in her eyes, how could he do this to her, all she ever did was love him!
“Leave before her call security” Caden frowned and returned to his computer.
Lia lashed on the floor angrily before standing up and walking out.

{VENICE MEDIA}
Madison walked out of the tall building with a sigh, now she knows why Liam never liked Venice Media, they are so annoying and insufferable.
She arrived here at 10 for an interview like they told her to but they kept her waiting till 3PM before attending to her and the interview didn’t even last 20 minutes.
She was dismissed and promised feedback.
Madison stared at her sky with sigh, should she have just let Nathan get her a job?
“No, you already turned it down, you can’t go back on your word” Madison muttered as she shook her head.
The thought of Nathan made her cheeks heat up, he left early this morning because he had a meeting and they never got the chance to talk.
Her phone vibrated in her purse and she picked it up as she walked towards the bus stop.
“Hi Ems,” Madison said tiredly.
“You sound tired, what’s up?” Emily asked.
“Just finished a stressful Interview and I am not even sure I want to work there anymore” Madison replied truthfully.
“You’re already on a job hunt? You got fired yesterday” Emily reminded.
“I know but I can’t lay around doing nothing, I have bills to cover” Madison responded.
“What Media company?” Emily asked.
“Venice” Madison replied and she heard Emily gasp.
“Seriously? How do you think Liam would take that news if you actually got the job?” Emily whispered.
“Why should I bother what he thinks, he didn’t care what I thought when he fired me” Madison retorted.
“True… And I have a feeling you would get that job, they would be so happy to take Halter’s Media, amazing journalist” Emily replied and Madison chuckled.
“Right! I’m too good at my job to be rejected” Madison said confidently.
Emily chuckled. “I have to get back to work, talk to you later,” Emily said.
“Bye” Madison replied and Emily hung up.
“They better hire me” Madison muttered, she put her phone in her purse and sat down waiting for the bus to arrive.

{LIA’S PENTHOUSE}
When Lia got back, she was already crying her eyes out, her make up was destroyed making her look like a walking clown.
Black line dripped down her cheek due to the mascara she wore.
“What happened?” Beatrice asked immediately she saw her daughter.
She needed space away from Anthony because he hasn’t been in a good mood since that post was made so she made up a pretence of going to a help foundation but she came here instead.
“Mom” Lia lurched at her mother engulfing her in a hug.
“Why are you like this?” Beatrice questioned again.
“Caden preferred that wretch over me! He threatened me to stay away from her!” Lia complained, crying.
Beatrice sighed at her daughter. “Caden again?”
“All I ever did was love him, even when I wasn’t in New York, I only ever thought of him and now he is with that…. Thing! She isn’t even half as beautiful as me!” Lia gritted.
“I told you your little obsession would get you in hurt” Beatrice said.
“Mom! Are you on my side or hers!” Lia yelled.
“My dear, you know I’m always on your side” Beatrice reasoned.
“Then you have to do something, keep Caden away from her, make him hate her, I want her gone!” Lia said.
“I would do anything for you, don’t worry, we would handle her, I already made my decision, we would strike at the right moment alright…” Beatrice assured and Lia nodded. “Now clean your tears, you have to be strong” Beatrice said and helped Lia to her room.

{PERU}
George just got out of a stressful meeting with the clients, they couldn’t come to New York for the meeting anymore because the CEO’s pregnant wife went into labor.
But his father needed the deal, it was important to the company so George decided to come to Peru for the meeting.
He called Anna as he got into the car waiting for him but she didn’t pick up, she told him yesterday that she would be in Peru so he was sort of eager to come here.
He hasn’t seen his girlfriend in a while but she wasn’t answering her calls.
He tried over a million times but still no answer, he decided to go back to his hotel room and he would try calling her the next day.
Immediately George entered his hotel room his phone vibrated but it was Anna calling but Caden.
Shît!
“Hey,” George said.
“Where are you?” Caden started, he sounded pissed as hell.
“Okay… Why are you mad?” George asked Instead.
“My assistant hasn’t been doing his job for days now, how am I supposed to win the upcoming election if I don’t even have an assistant!” Caden complained.
George rubbed his temples in realization, he totally forgot. “I’m sorry, I have just been busy” George apologized.
“Yeah… I know but I expect you to get me a temporary assistant if you won’t be available” Caden replied.
“I would do that as soon as I get back to New York” George said in assurance.
“You’re not in New York?” Caden asked.
George draws in a harsh breath. “Erhmmmm yeah….” He replied and he heard Caden cursing under his breath.
“Then why the hell did Anna tell me you were at your place?” Caden said and George frowned.
“You called her?” He asked.
“No, I saw her at a Jewelry store,” Caden answered.
“What were you doing at a Jewelry store?” George asked.
“I went to get something for Emily, that’s not the main discussion right now, if you’re not in New York why did Anna lie?” Caden replied.
“I don’t know, I thought she was in Peru that’s why I came here” George replied truthfully, bile forming in his throat.
“Damn… Maybe it’s just a misunderstanding, call her and talk to her” Caden said carefully.
“Alright” George said and hung up, he didn’t tell Caden he has been trying to call her but she hasn’t been answering any of his calls.
George took in a shaky breath. “Maybe she went back today” he muttered to himself.
He opened a small drawer beside his bed and brought a tiny box, he opened it and there was a beautiful diamond ring in it.
“Next time I supposed” he mumbled, his voice shaky and unsure.
He decided to try calling her again.

{HOTEL~NEW YORK}
Anna watched her phone ring over and over again but she didn’t have the courage to pick it up.
She came back to New York two days ago because of Anthony, she couldn’t possibly say no to him.
She has been anxious because of her encounter with Caden at the jewelry store.
Did he tell George she was in New York?
Is that why he has been calling her?
Anna’s thoughts were eating her up but she didn’t have the courage to speak to him because she was scared of what would happen.
She didn’t want to break up with George.
She loves him.
At least that’s what she tells herself.
The phone rang again and she sighed when she saw the caller ID.
“Mom, now is not a good time,” Anna yelled.
“Why aren’t you picking up George’s call, he is worried sick about” Stella said to her daughter who drew in a shaky breath.
F+k!
He called her mother?
“I’m just busy” Anna tried to defend.
“By this time? Anna….” Stella called suspiciously. “Are you guys fighting or did he make you angry?” Stella asked.
“He didn’t, I haven’t been with my phone that’s all” Anna said and Stella paused like she didn’t quite believe her.
“Alright, just call him back before the poor boy gets a heartattack” Stella replied and hung up.
Anna quickly turned off her phone and sighed.
She would handle this situation tomorrow but not today.

{NEXT DAY~KINGSTON’S MANSION}
Beatrice was in the kitchen making a cup of coffee for Anthony, she had dismissed the maids because she wanted to do it herself.
Beatrice finished making the coffee, then she brought out a small container from her dress pocket and emptied the contents in the coffee.
She has been adding this once in a while every time she serves him coffee since they got married.
This would make it easy for him to have a heart attack at any little raise in his blood pressure.
It would look so natural, no one would know he was murdered.
She had planned on doing this in a few weeks time but she couldn’t wait anymore, she needed to move fast.
Beatrice mixed the coffee properly. “Beatrice!” Anthony yelled as he walked down the stairs.
“Your coffee is ready” she said as she brought the cup to him.
“What took you so long?” Anthony snarled as he grabbed the cup from her hand roughly.
“I’m sorry” Beatrice apologized. She watched him drink everything and she smiled slightly.
Anthony gave her the cup and walked out of the house.
“Time for the next step” she muttered.
