{HOSPITAL~10AM}
George walked into the ward but his father was sleeping and he sighed, Calvin asked to see him but he is sleeping?
George sat on the stool close to his bed, he had to get a day off just to come see this man.
Caden hasn’t even come up with a plan to win the up coming election and he was worried.
Anthony and James are definitely planning something and they don’t even have an idea what it was.
Getting the votes of the board members would be a real pain in the ass, the only option is to postpone the election date to buy themselves more time but he doubts Anthony would agree to it.
“Hi” George heard a female voice and he looked up to see a smiling Ava.
“I’m the new doctor, my name is Ava” Ava introduced herself and George nodded.
“How is he?” George asked.
“His condition isn’t getting better or worse but we are doing all we can” Ava replied.
“Alright” George said.
Ava looked like she was about to say something but she swallowed her words instead.
After changing Calvin’s IV fluid she walked out of the ward.
“How did he not remember me, I didn’t change much” Ava muttered to herself with a sad sigh.

{RESTAURANT~6PM}
Caden pulled the chair out for Emily and she sat down.
“Thank you” she smiled at him.
“Sure,” Caden replied.
“You look happy” Emily noted.
“I’m on a date with my wife, what man wouldn’t be happy?” Caden replied and Emily chuckled.
“There are men like that,” Emily replied. “James ran into my car by accident and it destroyed my headlights. He insisted on paying, that’s why I have his number,” Emily explained, she didn’t know why but she just wanted to clear the air.
“He ran into your car?” Caden said with a frown.
“By accident and it was merely a scratch” Emily replied.
“That bastard” Caden scoffed.
“What’s your deal with James, how do you know him?” Emily asked.
But before Caden could reply the waitress came and they made their orders then the lady left.
“He is the other candidate for the COO position, you should stay away from him” Caden replied.
“Ohh, I didn’t know that, I had no idea” Emily said in surprise.
“I know you didn’t but James knows you’re my wife, he might have approached you on purpose, he is dangerous” Caden replied.
“I’m not sure about “dangerous” though, he seems pretty nice” Emily said.
“Emily?” They heard a voice.
James.
Caden rubbed his temples in frustration.
“What are you doing here?” Emily asked in genuine surprise.
“It’s a restaurant, I came to eat” James answered with a slight chuckle.
“We don’t care, go away” Caden interrupted.
“Did you repair the headlights?” James asked, completely ignoring Caden.
“Not yet” Emily gave an awkward smile.
“Let’s find somewhere else to have dinner, this place has already been corrupted” Caden stood up and helped Emily up too. “I would make sure to leave a bad review,” Caden grumbled.
He glared at James before taking Emily out of the restaurant.
James stood there as he watched them go with a blank expression.

{IN CADEN’S CAR}
“Isn’t Luis coming back?” Emily asked suddenly.
“I don’t know” Caden shrugged and Emily frowned.
“You haven’t talked to him?” She asked.
“No.. he would come back whenever he wants” Caden replied.
“What if he doesn’t come back?” Emily asked but before Caden could respond, her phone rang.
Emily sighed when she saw the caller ID.
Her mom.
She contemplated on ignoring the call but she decided to answer instead.
“Yes?” She asked.
“Have you spoken to your father?” Layla asked.
“No, what happened?” Emily asked.
“He blocked all my accounts, I already bought a lot of things that I can’t pay for right now” Layla yelled and Emily sighed.
“That’s why you called me? Why did he block your account?” Emily asked.
“I don’t know, how am I supposed to know, I have been calling him and he is not answering, I’m stuck in the shopping mall with no money to pay, it’s so embarrassing!” Layla complained.
“Send me your location, I would be there soon” Emily replied and hung up.
“Your mom?” Caden asked.
“Yes, drop me off here” Emily responded.
“Where is she? I would take you there” Caden said, leaving no room for arguments.

“I can’t believe your father would do something like that to me, did you see the way those staff where looking at me? It was so embarrassing” Layla complained from the back seat.
Emily’s eyes were shut, she didn’t know what to do with her mother who has been rambling since they left the shopping mall.
Layla was already causing a scene when they arrived and Caden paid for the enormous amount to things she bought.
“Thank you Caden, I honestly taught you were rude since you didn’t come for dinner the other day” Layla said to Caden.
“It’s no problem” Caden replied simply and turned to Emily who still has her eyes shut like if she keeps it close for a long time Layla would disappear.
“You should come for dinner another time, we would love to have you,” Layla offered with a smile
“Aren’t we there yet?” Emily asked.
“Almost” Caden replied.
“You talk like you’re tired of me, you weren’t the one who paid for the stuff I bought, I was the one who endured embarrassment” Layla yelled at her daughter.
The car stopped and Emily turned to her mom. “Bye, I would talk to you tomorrow” Emily said forcing a smile.
Layla scoffed. “Bye Caden” she said and came down from the car.
Caden turned to Emily who had a tired expression on her Face.

{SHIPMENT~9PM}
Madison felt heavy, her entire body was heavy and she came down from the van blindfolded.
She heard some noise, iron clicking against each other and the cloth used to tie her eyes were removed.
She was pushed into the mental container and the door was locked.
She heard some faint cries and sniffling, she didn’t know how long it has been since she woke up in the van they transported her in.
About 20 girls where sitting on the floor of the cold metal, some where crying while other looked numb.
Madison turned her head around, she noticed they were 10 girls apart from her and the other girls they pushed in here.
“Where are we?” She asked the crying girl sitting next to her but the girl didn’t answer her just like every other girl she had asked.
“We have to leave now!” Madison heard a faint voice from outside the metal door.
“We can’t leave, the other batch of girls aren’t here yet” she heard another male voice.
“But we are running out of time here” the first voice complained.
“Let’s wait a little while” came the reply.
Madison bit her lips hard, what the fuçk is going on?
She tried to stand up but someone held her, the crying girl she tried to talk to.
“Don’t, they would shoot you” she said in her really tiny voice, she was looked small
“Where are we?” Madison asked again.
“I was sold by my parents, I don’t know how you came here though but I think we are getting shipped to Mexico to be sold as slaves” she replied and Madison’s chest tightened.
Ambrose sold her to traffickers?
Her own brother sold her?
Madison swallowed the lump in her throat, she should have called the police on him when she had the chance.
Is this really how her life is going to end?
“We have to get out of here” Madison whispered to the girl.
She was determined not to let her life end here, she has gone through way too much to end up in Mexico as a slave.
“We can’t, they have guns, I saw them shoot one of the girls who was trying to escape” the girl replied, she was frightened
“Then what are we supposed to do?” Madison asked.
“Nothing, most of us have accepted our fate” the girl said weakly and Madison sighed.
She really can’t believe this is happening to her.
Faint sounds where heard from outside, they seem to be arguing of some sort and then gunshots rang in the air.
The other girls screamed in fear but Madison’s heart was in her throat, the scream wouldn’t form at all.
“Get the girls!” She heard a deep voice from outside.
But more gunshots were heard, louder than the first and after a while everywhere went quiet, only the faint noise of grunts.
The metal door opened wildly and some men came in, they were wearing police uniforms.
“We are saved” said the tiny girl and the other girls stood.
“Move!” One of the men said to them and they made their way out of the metal container.
When Madison came out, they were at the shore of a sea, on a ship, if the police were a little bit later then they would have been shipped to Mexico.
The girls where led to a station point and Madison couldn’t help but look around, she saw some policemen holding some of the traffiçkers to the ground making sure they don’t get away.
“Madison” she heard a familiar voice and she turned to see Nathan.
Madison didn’t think twice, she ran towards him as fast as she could and hug him tightly.
She never thought she would be so happy to see Nathan, she hugged him so tightly, she was pretty sure he wasn’t breathing properly.
Nathan hugged her back stiffly.

{CADEN’S HOUSE}
Emily and Caden ate in silence, when they came back, Emily made spaghetti since they didn’t get the chance to eat their food at the restaurant before James came.
“I’m sorry about my mom” Emily started, breaking the silence.
“It’s no problem, your mother is interested” Caden shrugged.
“She’s not, she just spends a lot” Emily retorted.
“Why did your father freeze her accounts?” Caden asked.
“I don’t know, probably because she spends too much, she always spends a lot and she really can’t leave without money. That’s why she didn’t refuse my father when he asked me to marry you against my wishes” Emily complained and Caden fell silent.
Emily took in her lips and sighed. “I didn’t mean it like that” she tried to explain.
“It’s no problem, I also didn’t want to marry you but now I really hope you don’t divorce me” Caden replied.
Emily stared at him. She didn’t expect him to say that, she never thought of divorce him.
Okay… Maybe she did but she didn’t plan on acting on it anyway.
“I never said I was going to divorce you” Emily clarified.
“Your eyes said exactly that the first few weeks after we got married, if you could strangle me, you would” Caden chuckled.
“I definitely would and I still really want to” Emily retorted with an eye roll.
“You’re beautiful” Caden said out of the blue and heat rushed through Emily, why does his words affect her so much?
“Thank you” she replied shyly, putting some stands of hair behind her ears.
“No need to thank me it’s the truth and block James” he said.
“Where did that come from?” Emily asked.
“Just do it” Caden replied.
“What about Lia? I hope you blocked her too” Emily said suddenly remembering the threat Lia said to her.
“I told you, things with Lia aren’t like that, she’s just an old friend, I never even had s3x with her” Caden replied and Emily felt a pang in her chest.
She suddenly remembered who he was before he married her, he hadn’t cheated since they got married, not that she knew off but she didn’t expect him to just change because of her.
She really didn’t believe it was possible
“Where do we stand now” Emily asked and Caden raised an eyebrow. “I mean what kind of relationship do we have now that we’ve had s+x” Emily asked awkwardly.
“Why don’t you tell me” Caden replied.
“I don’t know, that’s why I am asking you” Emily frowned.
“I don’t know either but am I very sure I don’t want to see you with anyone that’s not me, you’re my wife and that’s a fact” Caden said and Emily remained quiet.
The ringing of a phone interrupted them and Emily turned to see her phone ringing on the table.
It was James calling and when Caden saw it he frowned. “Weren’t you supposed to block him?” He asked.
“We only had that conversation, few minutes ago, I haven’t touched my phone since then” Emily replied.
She wanted to pick up the phone but Caden beat her to it and answered. “Stay away from my wife” he said and hung up.
Emily tried to suppress a smile as she stuffed her mouth with spaghetti.

{NATHAN’S PENTHOUSE}
Nathan gave Madison a glass of juice to drink and she took it slowly.
Everything that happened still hasn’t settled well in her head, she really couldn’t believe that she was so close to getting traffîcked, the thought alone scared the shît out of her.
“How are you?” Nathan asked, not knowing what to say to someone who looks like she has been traumatized.
Madison nodded slowly. “I’m fine” she replied sipping from the glass.
“How did you find me?” Madison said.
“Your brother spent a lot of money in a casino and you weren’t at home so I questioned him,” Nathan replied.
“Questioned?” Madison asked.
“Yes, he said he sold you to some people and well… I had to pull some strings to get the police to move faster but they were already investigating the traffiçking situation, so it was fast” Nathan replied.
“You did that for me?” Madison asked.
“Yes, is something wrong?” Nathan asked.
“No, it’s just that there’s nothing between us and you don’t know me that well” Madison replied.
“I know you more than you think” Nathan said.
“Did you do a background check on me?” She asked and Nathan was quiet. “I knew it!” Madison yelled. “No wonder you knew about my mother death and my brother, all these rich folks” Madison scoffed.
Nathan sighed. “I’m glad you’re okay” he replied.
“Thank you” Madison said.
“No problem” He replied.
“What about Ambrose?” Madison asked. “What do you plan on doing with him?” She added.
“What do you want me to do?” Nathan asked.
“You need to stop answering my question with another question, just answer like a normal person” Madison snapped with a frown.
Nathan chuckled. “That ticks you off?” He asked and Madison scoffed.
She knows she shouldn’t be scoffing at the person who cared enough to help her, she couldn’t imagine the kind of string he had to pull to get the police to look for her but he is really getting on her nerves.
“Yes it does and do whatever you want with him but I don’t want to know or hear about it” Madison replied.
“Are you sure you don’t want to know?” Nathan asked.
“Stop asking questions or I might just explode” Madison said.
“Madison?” She heard a very familiar voice and she looked up to see Ava.
“Ava” Madison called softly as she stood up from the white couch, Ava rushed towards her and engulf her in a hug.
“It’s been a while, why are here?” Ava asked. “Don’t tell me you’re reprimanding her for bringing me to New York” Ava turned to her brother.
“No I wasn’t-“
“No he wasn’t-“
Madison and Nathan said immediately.
“Ohhhh okay… then why are you here?” Ava asked looking between them.
“Well… I-” Madison started.
“Because I asked her to come” Nathan replied instead and Ava nodded repeated with a smile.
“Hmmm okay, you’re always welcome” Ava smiled at Madison who was trying to figure out what Ava was smiling about. “I would leave you guys then” Ava said and walked towards her room.
“Should I get the guest room ready for you?” Nathan asked.
Madison didn’t know how to respond to that, she wasn’t sure she wanted to go back home tonight though so she nodded softly and Nathan left.
Madison watched him go with a small smile on her face.

{KINGSTON MANSION}
Beatrice sat on the King size bed as she scroll through her phone, she was looking through the documents that were sent to her, the one Anthony signed and gave to Anna.
She praised herself for the thoughtful thinking, it was really smart of her to use Anna to get to Anthony.
Now she just have to wait for the right moment, the right moment to use this against him.
The bedroom door opened and Anthony walked in.
He didn’t even spare her a glance before walking towards the bathroom.
Anthony came out few minutes later and slumped on the bed, still ignoring Beatrice and she didn’t say anything to him either.
“Did you speak to Caden?” He asked out of nowhere.
“No” Beatrice replied simply and Anthony fell quiet.
“I heard you want to replace him as the COO” Beatrice said and Anthony turned to her.
“How do you know that?” He asked.
“It’s all over the news” Beatrice replied and Anthony scoffed.
“So what?” Anthony asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Nothing” Beatrice responded and Anthony dropped his phone on the nightstand to sleep, turning away from Beatrice.
She watched him with complete hatred in her eyes, she could just stab him with a knife while he sleeps but that would be foolish.
“Sleep well, Anthony, very soon you won’t get the chance again” she whispered only to herself.
