Madison walked outside the apartment but she couldn’t see Ambrose, it was pretty late and the moon didn’t shine as bright as last night.
If not for the street lights, she wouldn’t see anything at all.
Just as Madison was about to call Ambrose she saw him walking towards her, his head covered in a hood.
She wouldn’t have recognized him if not for the street lights.
“What’s going on, why did you call me here?” Madison asked with a frown visible on her face. “Is the money you got from the TV not enough?” She asked hurriedly.
“That’s not why I asked you to come out,” Ambrose replied.
She couldn’t see his face clearly even though she recognized his voice.
“Then what?” Madison replied like she was going to scream.
“I… I want to apologize to you” Ambrose said and Madison’s jaw literally dropped.
Apologize? That’s not right.
“What?” Madison found her voice.
“I’m sorry for being such a terrible older brother,” Ambrose said slowly.
“Are you alright?” Madison asked, walking towards him slowly.
“I’m fine” Ambrose replied and walked away from her.
“What the hell?” Madison stood there watching him go with so much confusion.
What just happened?
He called her out here just to tell her that?
This didn’t sit well with her at all.
There was something wrong and she needs to find out what.
Just as Madison was about to enter her apartment building, someone held her from behind.
Pressing his palm to her mouth and nose, preventing her from screaming or breathing.
Her heart raced as she struggled to break free from the hold but it was futile.
He was clearly much stronger than her, Madison couldn’t hold her breath for long and she passed out.

{CADEN’S HOUSE}
Emily was in the kitchen trying to cook pasta.
It’s time like this she misses Luis, she wondered when he would come back.
If she was on speaking terms with Caden she would have asked him about Luis.
The front door opened and Emily knew Caden was back, she hardened her features, determined not to speak to him.
Caden glanced at her before going upstairs and Emily frowned.
A pang of disappointment struck her, she was clearly expecting him to talk to her like he did this morning and she would have taken pleasure in ignoring him.
He doesn’t seem to care that she was ignoring him and that pulled a string in her chest, hurting her badly.
“And he said he wanted me” Emily muttered under her breath and scoffed. “What do I expect from him?” she added with a hiss and continued what she was doing.
After a while, Caden came downstairs, already freshened up and changed.
He walked into the kitchen, ignoring Emily.
Caden took orange juice from the fridge and poured himself a glass.
Emily pressed her lips together, she is supposed to be glad he isn’t pestering her or trying to talk to her but she doesn’t feel like that at all.
Her heart tightened and her stomach churned totally different from what she expected to feel.
Emily sighed and decided to leave the kitchen for him.
“Still angry?” Caden finally broke the silence but Emily ignored.
Just as she was about to leave he grabbed her wrist and turned her to face him before caging her on the counter.
His palms rested on the counter on her sides, leaving no room for escape.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Emily asked, surprised.
“Why are you angry at me? Is it because I kissed you? Or because I didn’t let you talk to James?” Caden asked with a raised eyebrow.
“All of it” Emily replied.
“You’re my wife, it’s natural for me to kiss you and I hate the idea of someone else having your attention” Caden said.
“We are not a real couple, we don’t have to do what other couples do Caden” Emily frowned.
Caden brought his face close to hers. “Why can’t we?” He asked softly.
Emily swallowed the lump in her throat, their faces were inches apart.
He was way too close. “Because we just can’t,” Emily rasped.
“We can, I know I want that, you’re just being stubborn” Caden said.
“Caden…” Emily said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, if Caden wasn’t so close to her face, he wouldn’t have heard her speak.
“Calling my name like that isn’t the right choice Emily, especially since you said you don’t want me” Caden said and without warning, he kissed her.
Not like the last time.
This time, he kissed her softly, making sure to rub his lip against her and nibbling on her lower lip.
He was baiting her, to see if she would actually kiss him back.
To see if she also wants him as much as he wanted her.
And Emily took the bait without even noticing it.
She kissed him back, her hands wrapping around his neck to pull him closer.
Caden smiled on her lips, before kissing her deeply.
Their tongues exploring each other’s mouth, sucking all their breaths.
Caden was the first to pull away earning himself a low groan from Emily as they both tried to catch their breaths.
“I thought you didn’t want me” Caden’s voice came out hoarse and Emily’s cheeks turned pink.
“Oh.. would you look at that, I guess I do after all” Emily tried to mask her blush and a low chuckle came from Caden which Emily found oddly comforting.
She didn’t know what was wrong with her, being this close to him is definitely doing a lot of things to her because all she wants right now is just drown in him.
Emily didn’t let her thoughts engulf her, she pulled him closer even though he was already close enough and kissed him again surprising Caden, he didn’t expect her to take the initiative at all but he responded nonetheless.
This time the kiss felt good, really good almost like they have both been starved for too long.
Emily didn’t even have the time to think of anything else as Caden devoured her, all that mattered was that moment.
Caden lifted her and placed her on the counter, placing himself between her legs.
His hands moved up and down her sides, at the back of her hair and down her back, like he wanted to touch her everywhere at the same time.
He didn’t want to undress her or grope her breàst as much as he wanted too because he didn’t want Emily to pull away.
Emily noticed his thoughtfulness and it made her want him even more, she must be high on adrenaline or something because she tugged his shirt upwards as her palms met with his bare skin earning a groan from Caden.
She loved how much her touch affected him, urging her to do more.
Caden pulled out of the kiss again. “Are you seriously trying to undress me?” He asked with a smirk.
Emily frowned “That’s the plan” she replied simply and Caden lifted her from the counter.
She wrapped her legs around his waist as he began to move out of the kitchen, lifting her like she was weightless.
“We are not having s+x on the couch” Emily said before Caden could go to the living room.
“Yeah.. definitely not” Caden replied and made his way to the stairs.
Emily didn’t even know when Caden got to his room, she was too focused on the kiss Caden was serving her.
She had never felt this much passion with any of her exes in college, she could feel the fire and heat burning between them and she couldn’t help but wonder again if she was truly high on adrenaline.
Caden laid Emily on the bed softly as she pulled his shirt over his head.
Her eyes ran through his body which she had seen once before and she still was amazed.
“Like what you see, wife?” Caden rasped but Emily’s eyes already gave him all the answers he needed.
He chuckled slightly and pulled off his pants while Emily tried to get rid of her nightie.
When Caden was done undressing, Emily stared at him like she wasn’t sure this is a good idea anymore.
“Too fast?” He asked with a concerned face.
“No, I just.. I just don’t know if you’ll fit” Emily replied with a genuinely worried expression and Caden let out a laugh.
“Really? Let’s try and see then” he smirked and joined her on the bed, hovering over her.
Emily was yet to remove her undies and Caden was glad to be of help.
Her brèast sprung free as the bra fell to the ground beside the bed.
Caden’s eyes couldn’t stop feasting on her body, she was magnificent.
He always knew Emily had perfect curves, he had seen them at the pool when she was wearing her wet b+kini but he was truly astonished.
Heat creeped through Emily as she watched Caden stare at her and she tried to cover herself but he held her hand.
“Don’t hide yourself from me wife” he spoke seductively and leaned to her face to kiss her.
A kiss that she returned with the same passion.

{NEXT MORNING}
Emily turned on the bed lazily, her eyes fluttered open slowly, memories of last night rushing through her and heat sprang through her body.
She couldn’t believe she actually had s+x with Caden, someone she swore she would never go close to.
Emily sat up from the bed and the sore she felt was proof that it actually happened last night.
She ran her hands through her hair, she guessed the adrenaline was out of her system because right now her brain is functioning properly.
She turned to her side and found the bed empty, she was the only one on the bed.
“Where did he go?” Emily muttered.
She got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to have a bath, when she came out, she realized she was in Caden’s room.
She really didn’t pay attention to the room details last night.
Was that how into it she was?
Emily went to Caden’s closet and took a shirt, she put it on and made her way outside the room and downstairs.
She wondered if he had left for work already then she remembered she wasn’t with her phone to check the time.
She probably forgot it on the counter last night.
“Awake?” Caden stood just in front of the kitchen with a glass of what seemed like juice in his hand.
“I thought you left for work already” Emily replied as she walked towards him.
“And leave my beautiful wife, absolutely not” Caden smirked and Emily blushed.
Isn’t someone over sensitive today?
“I really didn’t know what to get you,” Caden said as he handed her the glass.
Emily took it from him and took a sip. “Apple juice?” She asked in amusement.
“You don’t like it?” Caden asked.
“No it’s fine” Emily shrugged and they fell into silence.
Caden watched Emily intently as she drank the apple juice slowly.
“How are things at the company and with your father?” Emily asked, breaking the silence.
“Let’s not ruin the moment with talk of work and my father” Caden sighed. “There’s nothing for you to worry about,” he added.
Emily wanted to press for more, she wanted to know if he had everything settled, if his father was really going to replace him but she kept all that to herself and pressed her lips together.
“When would you get off work today?” Caden asked.
“Maybe by 5 or 6, not sure” Emily replied. “Why?” She asked.
“I want to take you to dinner” Caden said softly and Emily blinked, is he asking her out on a date?
And he looks nervous about it too.
There had to be a mistake somewhere.
“Is this a date?” Emily asked with a small smile.
“Are you accepting?” Caden asked instead and Emily laughed.
“Sure” she shrugged and Caden fist pumped the air.
He was happy.
Emily found it cute and she couldn’t help the laugh that tore out her throat.
Her laugh was like music to Caden’s ears, he watched her with a smile.
When did he start falling this deep for her, he doesn’t even realize it himself.
The short moment was interrupted by the ringing of a phone.
Caden’s.
He picked it up and after a few exchanges of conversations with George, he hung up.
“I have to leave before George fries me for dinner,” Caden said and went upstairs to change.
Emily was waiting downstairs when he came back all dressed in a black suit, his jacket on his arm.
“I would pick you up at work by 5?” Caden said to Emily.
“Yeah…” She replied simply.
Before Caden left, he made sure to peck Emily on the lips, completely surprising her.
She was still in a daze after he was gone.
_
{NATHAN’S OFFICE~9AM}
Nathan had a worried look on his face, his jaw ticked slightly as the call went to voicemail.
Was she ignoring him?
He had been trying to reach Madison since last night but his calls kept going to voicemail.
His office doors opened and his secretary entered. “Sir, your meeting with the shareholders is in 30minutes, should we leave now?” The man asked.
“Yes.. get the car ready” Nathan replied curtly and his secretary left.
Nathan’s phone rang and he picked it up hurriedly hoping Madison finally decided to return his calls but it wasn’t her calling.
Nathan picked with a frown. “Yes?” He asked.
“She wasn’t at home last night and her brother just spent half a million in a casino” the man at the other end informed.
Nathan closed his eyes tightly in realization, he f+king hoped whatever he was thinking was wrong.
“Bundle him up, I would meet you at the basement” Nathan replied coldly and hung up.
Nathan got up from his chair and took his jacket.
Just as he was about to walk out of the office, his secretary came in. “The car is ready” the man informed.
“Cancel the meeting, I have other things to do” Nathan ordered and left leaving his secretary in astonishment.
The shareholders are gonna be so mad.
_
{ALLEY}
Anna has been standing for almost an hour, she was going to give the files she made Anthony sign to the man that gave the files to her but he hasn’t showed up yet.
Anna groaned in frustration then she saw a figure walking towards her.
“I have been waiting for like… Forever!!!” Anna yelled angrily.
“You are in no position to yell, the papers” the man stretched out his hand and Anna handed it to him.
He opened it up and inspected it, after he was done he turned to leave.
“You would leave me alone from now on” Anna said behind him.
“We would see about that” the man replied curtly and left while Anna sighed.
Her phone pinged.
A text from George.
George: I’m going to see my father today, I won’t be able to see you before you leave for Boston, sorry.
Anna: It’s alright.
Anna turned her phone off and put it in her pause.
She wore her cap and glasses before walking away.
_
{THE BASEMENT}
Nathan walked down the stairs to the basement with an expressionless gaze.
He met Ambrose, tied to a steel chair, unconscious.
As if Ambrose felt Nathan’s presence his eyes opened slowly as he tried to move around but he was tied.
He looked confused, the last thing he remembered was losing a lot of money at the casino table and he went to the bathroom to vent.
His memory ended at that.
Ambrose looked up to see cold eyes staring at him.
The face of the man looked extremely familiar and he tried to remember where he had seen this man.
Madison’s rich boyfriend.
He remembered and then he frowned. “What am I doing here?” Ambrose asked.
“Where is Madison?” Nathan asked instead.
“Ohh I see… You held me here because of Madison” Ambrose scoffed.
“I won’t ask twice,” Nathan said curtly.
“She refused to ask you for money to give to me so I did what I could to get money” Ambrose shrugged.
He had no idea the kind of danger he was in.
“That’s not the answer to my question,” Nathan said.
“I don’t know where she is” Ambrose replied and he surely didn’t expect the punch that landed on his cheek.
The taste of blood bloomed in his mouth as he spat out one of his teeth.
“What the hell!” He yelled in anger trying to break free from his bondage.
“Let’s try again” Nathan said casually like he didn’t just punch the dude.
Fear crawled up Ambrose’s eyes, Nathan looked serious, if he doesn’t speak he probably won’t make it out of here alive.
“I really don’t know where she is, they didn’t tell me where they were taking her, they just took her and gave me the money” Ambrose spoke hurriedly.
“Who are they?” Nathan asked with a frown.
“Some guys, I wanted money and they were willing to offer me money if I get them a pretty girl, they are into trafficking and shît and it’s pretty hard for them to get girls so I got them a pretty girl” Ambrose replied.
Angry veins formed on Nathan’s forehead. “You sold your sister to traffîckers?” Nathan asked.
“A man has to do anything to survive, I couldn’t get any job with my prison record” Ambrose replied.
Nathan looked at Ambrose in disgust, he couldn’t believe the guy.
Nathan walked out of the basement, a man was waiting for him outside. “Get every bit of information out of him and find her, fast” Nathan ordered and walked away.
He couldn’t bear to look at Ambrose and he should pray within him that Madison is safe.
