Between 2 Hearts – Episode 34

Alex arrived home with Naomi, carefully getting out of the car and moving to the other side to help her out. He scooped her up in his arms, and Mr. Daniels emerged from the house, surprised to see Alex.

“Your Highness,” Mr. Daniels exclaimed.

“Good day, uncle” Alex replied warmly, and Mr. Daniels stepped aside, allowing Alex to carry Naomi inside.

As they entered the house, 

“Let me show you to her room.” He led the way, with Alex following closely behind.

When they reached Naomi’s room, Alex gently laid her down on the bed and covered her with a blanket.

“There’s nothing to worry about, Uncle,” Alex explained. “We were having a little celebration, and everyone had a bit too much fun. That’s why she’s fast asleep.”

Mr. Daniels looked relieved. “Okay, I was worried because she never stays out so late. Thank you for bringing her home.”

 “It’s nothing, Uncle. I’ll let you get back to your evening.”Alex smiled.

 “I’ll be in the living room if you need anything.”

As Mr. Daniels walked away, Alex sighed and glanced around the room. He noticed various portraits hung on the walls and some leaning against the walls on the floor. His eyes landed on a large board covered with a white cloth, and curiosity got the better of him.

As he approached the board, Naomi murmured in her sleep, “Don’t touch that.” Alex paused and turned to see her sitting up, still dozing.

“Naomi,” he whispered, moving closer to her.

“Water,” she murmured.

 He quickly poured a cup of water from the jug beside the bed and held it to her lips. She took a few sips and fell back onto the bed.

Alex placed the cup back on the shelf, covered her with the blanket, and gently kissed her forehead before turning off the light and walking away.

   Alex entered the living room to find Mr. Daniels seated calmly in his chair.

“I can’t thank you enough for bringing my daughter home,” Mr. Daniels said, and Alex smiled warmly.

“How are you feeling?” Alex asked.

“Getting better,” he replied.

“That’s good to know,” Alex said. “Just in case you need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know.”

 “Okay, Your Highness. Thank you very much. You’re so much like your father, so kind-hearted.”

 “Thank you. I’ll be on my way now.”

Mr. Daniels stood up. “Take care of yourself, and my regards to the royal house.”

Alex nodded, gave a slight bow, and left. Mr. Daniels followed him to the door, and they waved at each other before Alex drove off.

As Alex arrived home, he drove into the garage and got out of the car. The guards at the door entrance bowed to him.

“Why are you guys still here?” Alex asked politely. “It’s late already. Shouldn’t you be sleeping?”

 “No, Your Highness. It’s our duty to safeguard the palace and the royal house.”One of the guards replied,

 “I know, but you can go in and rest. You can continue tomorrow. There are vigilantes everywhere safeguarding the palace and the whole kingdom. Like I’m talking to you right now, there are lots of them outside the compound. So, go take a rest.”

 “Okay, Your Highness. We’ll do as you’ve said.”The guards bowed.

As Alex entered the living room, Queen Lala called out to him. “Son!”

She rushed to hug him, followed by Elora and Diva.

 “Where were you? We were worried,” Elora said as they pulled away from him.

“Why are you guys still up at this time?” Alex asked.

“You, why are you home at this time?” Queen Lala asked. “We thought something happened to you.”

 “Nothing, Mom. Nathan and I just hung out. That’s why I’m home late.”

“I told you guys not to worry about him. He’s grown up to look after himself.” With that, King Luke bid them goodnight and headed to his room.

 “I’m home now. There’s no need to worry. I’ll go in and freshen up… good night.”

He said firmly and left for his room, followed by the others.

     The next morning, Mia was tossing around in bed, finding it cozy and warm. She smiled in her sleep, feeling the soft bed with her hands. As the sunlight streamed through the window, she weakly opened her eyes, only to close them again due to the brightness.

She sat up in bed, feeling a hangover. “Gosh, my headache,” she groaned, opening her eyes again.

As she looked around, she found the room unfamiliar. “Where am I?” she wondered.

She took in the exclusive master bedroom design, beautifully decorated with expensive interior design, and was amazed. Looking out the window, she saw a skyscraper in the distance.

“Am I in heaven?” she wondered, and suddenly noticed she was wearing a man’s clothes. She gasped, her eyes wide with surprise.

“Oh no, did I sleep with a man?” she thought, quickly observing herself. Noticing no pain, she was relieved, but her mind was still occupied with how she ended up there.

Meanwhile, Nathan was preparing a mouthwatering breakfast in the dining area, assisted by the maids. His family sat around the table, wondering why Nathan was so lively, to the point of making breakfast.

“Okay, it’s set,” Nathan said, smiling. “What do you all think? Will she like it?”

 “Is she talking about the lady he brought home last night?”His father whispered to his wife,

 “I guess so.”His wife replied,

 “Why aren’t you guys saying anything?” He asked,

 “She will love it.” Anna spoke up,The rest nodded in agreement.

“Okay, let me get her. I’m sure she’s awake now,” he said, rushing off excitedly.

His family stared after him, exchanging curious glances.

“My brother has been struck by love,” Oliver said.

 “I’ve never seen him like this before.”Their mother added.

 “This isn’t the first time I’ve seen that lady with him.”Anna mentioned,

“Really?” their father asked.

“Yes, I saw them talking to each other at the palace,” Anna replied.

 “Who is she? Is she one of the royal house family members?”Their mother asked,

 “Let’s wait and see.”Their father suggested.

   Mia was still in the room, looking confused. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. She gasped and quickly covered herself with the blanket.

Nathan opened the door and entered, amused by what he saw. He slowly moved closer to her and leaned in, his voice firm.

 “What are you doing?”

Mia recognized the voice and quickly threw off the blanket. She turned to see Nathan standing close to her, and her eyes widened in shock. She let out a scream as she rolled over and fell off the bed.

Nathan chuckled and stood up, walking over to where Mia was groaning in pain. He bent down and stretched out his hand to help her up. Mia looked at him, her mind racing with questions about how she ended up in his room.

She ignored his hand and stood up, avoiding his gaze. She moved to the window and hid behind the curtain. 

 “Please tell me this is a dream right now. Why am I here? How did I get in here?” she asked, her voice muffled.

 “You’re not dreaming. I brought you here last night because you and your sister were drunk.”he stood in front of the curtain, his arms crossed.

 “What? Why did you bring me here? And why am I in another shirt? Did you touch me without my consent? Did you take advantage of my drunkenness?”

 “No, I didn’t. I asked my female maid to change your clothes and wash them. Why would I touch you without your consent?”

She was quiet for a moment, processing the information. 

 “I want to go home. I don’t belong here,” she said, fear evident in her voice.

“You’ll go home after breakfast. Everyone is waiting for you at the dining table.”

 “Everyone?” She was shocked.

 “Yes, my family. They’re all aware that I brought you here last night. Can you come out now?”

Mia hesitated, shaking with fear behind the curtain. Nathan called out to her, his voice gentle.

 “Mia.” He moved closer and shifted the curtain away from her, revealing her frightened face.
