The Two Sorrowful
Titayo was in her place of work as a waitress when she spilled drink on a lady who came with her Dad.
“See my dress, are you nut? You a scumbag , good for nothing old witch”. The lady spatted.
“I’m deeply sorry madam”. Titayo apologized.
“What kind of sorry is that”. The Dad of the lady spatted.
Everything became complicated and the Manager of the restaurant fired Titayo for being clumsy. She felt sad and wished she could find another job in time but unfortunately she couldn’t.
She planned to go back to the village since it was time of Palm trees. The money she will got from doing labour in Palm trees farm will be enough for her to start petty trading.
She gathered some money and travelled to the village but on getting there, she met her mother and her children crying outside their neighbours house.
She asked Grandma Oyedele what happened and grandma Oyedele told her that the house they were living get burnt with all the little things they had. Titayo felt sad and also tell them about loosing her job in Lagos.
They were still on this when Saka’s wife cried in with some women. Grandma Oyedele was very surprised to see Saka’s wife in that state but when she asked her what happened. “Saka had a fatal accident and he passed away”. As Saka’s wife narrated the incident grandma Oyedele black out immediately and she was rushed to the herbalist priest.
When she wakes up, she cursed the day she was born. Is this a curse or spell. Was someone behind every terrible incident that befallen her.
First, she lost her husband then Balarebe sickness and later died, their financial status, their house was burnt, Titayo was fired , Saka’s death. What’s next after this? Why their lives was such a mess and unfavorable.
