Have you ever experience an event, where you feel like everything you do, touch and witness is real like when you wake on a Monday morning and go to school, have fun with your friends and receive lectures and on your way to go back home everything goes dark, and then you later find out you’re either dreaming or sleeping… Well it’s true… It does happen to most people but nobody can explain this phenomenon…
Well in my case it’s not… I woke up the next morning having experience a terrible dream, where I was almost eaten by some scary lady and then in that dream I heard Sorceress’s voice… Everything sounded so real.. And not to mention the pain the felt on my hands and legs…. I checked my wrists and angles and saw marked and bruised… I couldn’t believe it.. I quickly stood up looking dazed… Was the dream then true… The only way to find out was by asking my parents how I got here… In that moment Lionel came into the room whistling.. So since we slept in the same room I decided to ask him first.

Lionel ➡ Riley? You dey okay so? You look like say you see Spill over on all your final year scripts.

Riley ➡ Abeg you fit know how I come enter this house…. Besides.. Which time I return house.

Lionel ➡ Emm, me I no know.. No body since afternoon you come house..

Was he serious? He knows I don’t come back at home in the afternoon.. In fact yesterday after I had $-x with Rukky in her hostel room.
Seeing that I wasn’t going anywhere with Lio, I decided to ask my mother..

Riley ➡ Good morning mom.
.
Sara ➡ Good morning.. My son.
.
Riley ➡ Can you please tell me how and which time I got home ?

Sara ➡ What kind of silly question is that… Weren’t you here all afternoon…
.
Hearing my mom answer made me realize something wasn’t right… They all know that I don’t get home until in the evening.. I would have believed all of them but people don’t get bruises in dreams… This bruises I had was proof enough that something strange happened to me..
Later that morning, I went to school and I wasn’t myself.. People were asking if I was alright but I didn’t reply them.. I entered class later but luckily for me.. I was allowed to enter.. As I went to my seat everyone in the hall was looking at me, as if I was mad.. I went and sat at the back seat not realizing my friends Khalid and Tina were close to me.. As I looked around the class, I noticed Sorceress was stealing glances at me.. As our eyes met she quickly turned around.. That too was strange.. Sorceress never looked at me or anyone before.. Yes she talked to me yesterday but it doesn’t prove a thing.. Why was she stealing glances at me all of a sudden?

Khalid ➡ (silently) Riley you dey okay so? You look like say you see ghost?

Tina ➡ (silently) I totally agree… What’s up?
.
Riley ➡ (silently) Nothing.. I’m okay….
.
To be honest… I wasn’t I was freaking out… Through out the lecture I was just looking at Sorceress, not concentrating on lectures…
The only way to know about what happened was to confront her but how will I approach her with this? What if I’m wrong? And people will think I’m crazy if I ask her about her being some kind of supernatural element.
After lectures, Everyone converged at my seat and as it turns out, the reason why I was being looked at was because of everyone had heard the need of me talking to Sorceress and they all wanted to know what I found out about her.
I knew Khalid or Tina were probably behind this.. But I had no time to talk, I wanted answers… I noticed Sorceress was gone.. So I brushed off everyone and chased after her.. Even as I came out of the hall, I couldn’t see her… Where could have gone to so fast.. It was barely a minute lectures was over and she has already disappeared?
I began to search for her asking anyone if they had seen her, not no one did.. In the process of doing that, I bumped into Rukky.

Rukky ➡ Riley, what’s this I hear about you and that b*tch…. Are you listening to me?

Riley ➡ Uhm, what? Did you say something?
.
Rukky ➡ Don’t play dumb with me.. What were you doing with that Sorceress?
.
Riley ➡ Look, I don’t have time to talk.. I’m looking for someone… Can we talk later?
.
Rukky ➡ Absolutely not….
.
As Rukky was busy blabbering her mouth, I caught a glimpse of Sorceress, seeing her made my heart jump, I ran after her leaving Rukky standing in shock.
How could she have got over there so fast? I have to say she was really fast on her legs..
As I caught up to her, I decided to be calm down and talk to her but to my surprise as I saw her, she wasn’t the one…

Riley ➡ Sorceress, can I talk you for a sec?

Female student ➡ Excuse me? You must be talking to the wrong person, excuse me?
.
The lady left me standing in awe and shock.. I could sworn it was her… But where could she have gone to…
After going round asking for her.. I decided to rest and head for the cafeteria.. I brought a snack and a drink to calm my nerves.. I kept wondering where Sorceress went to… She’s couldn’t have just disappeared like that?
As I was eating my snack, Someone stood in front and me, to my utmost surprise it was her..
She stood looking at me with a smile on her face… God… I was right about her looking beautiful when she smiled.. She was totally bewitching..

Christen ➡ Hey 😊

Riley ➡ Hey..

Christen ➡ You forgot your book back in class..

Riley ➡ Uhm thanks.. Oh please have a seat.. Can I buy you anything?

Christen ➡ No.. Thanks.. I’m okay… You look worried, are you alright?

Riley ➡ Yes, I’m just tired from running around..
.
Christen ➡ Well, I was grateful for what you did yesterday.. I didn’t thank you properly… Thank you.. That was very courageous of you.

Riley ➡ (Omo this babe is killing me) you’re welcome, I don’t like seeing bullies harassing those weaker than them.

Christen ➡ (laughing) I’m not that weak, trust me.. But still thank you..

Riley ➡ You’re welcome.. So can I know your name, if you don’t mind?

Christen ➡ Yes, my name is Christen..
.
Riley ➡ Christen? What a lovely name.. I’m Riley.
.
Christen ➡ (laughs) I already know that, silly.

God I couldn’t believe what was happening.. Was this the same girl, that was snubbing everyone… I succeeded where so many guys failed… This has to be a dream… Not only I was surprised, even those in the Cafeteria were surprised to.. Some were recording us, while some took pictures.

Riley ➡ So where are you from?
.
Christen ➡ Oh, I live very far.. I just came here because of the school and all….

Riley ➡ Okay… It seems like you don’t like to talk much.

Christen ➡ Yeah, I prefer to be quiet and mindful of what I do.. I don’t like getting into trouble with people….

Riley ➡ I agree but people always do find a way to make you their business..

Christen ➡ I totally agree… I wonder what the world would be like if everyone minded their business?

Riley ➡ Yeah.. So where do you usually stay?

Christen ➡ Uhm.. Uh.. In my Aunt’s house.. Why do you ask?

Riley ➡ Well,… I was hoping I could come visit you sometime and we can get to study together.

Christen ➡ That’ll be nice… But I don’t think coming is such a good idea.. My Aunty she’s really really mean and strict.. Trust me.

Riley ➡ Okay… I have to say though you’re different from what I used to think… I guess I was wrong.

Christen ➡ And what’s the thought?

Riley ➡ No offense but at first I thought you were snobby and arrogant but now I’m seeing a different picture… You’re not bad if one gets to know you…

Christen ➡ That’s cute… But you don’t know anything about me..

Riley ➡ Okay tell me about you…

Christen ➡ That will for another time… I have to say you sure have a nice necklace..

Riley ➡ What necklace?

I was surprised when she said that… How did she know the necklace was with me?
Just when I thought her change of attitude was weird, now this.

Christen ➡ The necklace you were holding onto in class, I’ve seen you with it numerous times… Its quite lovely… You should hold on to it..

Riley ➡ Well, its not mine, I found it on the ground actually.. I was thinking of selling it actually

Christen ➡ DON’T YOU DARE!!!

Everyone turned around looking at our direction again… Even I was surprised about her sudden out burst… Why was she so concerned about a necklace that wasn’t hers.

Riley ➡ Excuse me?

Christen ➡ Sorry, I was trying to tell you not to sell it… You never know when the owner might return and he or she will be very unhappy to know you sold off, his or her possession.

Riley ➡ Easy… I was going to but now I’m keeping it… Hope you’re not offended.

Christen ➡ Not anymore.. I have to go…

Riley ➡ Come on, stay a bit longer.. You just got here.
.
But Christen insisted on leaving but before she could get up from her seat, Rukky walked into the Cafeteria with a look of jealousy and rage, his crazy friends followed her in…
Seeing her head towards us, I knew she must have heard about I talking to Christen, People who knew what was going to erupt, began to gather around..

Rukky ➡ So Riley, this is what you’ve been up to abi?

Riley ➡ Calm down it’s not what it looks like.
.
Rukky ➡ Bullshit! And you! Sorceress or whatever the hell your name is stay away from my man, you hear?
.
Christen gave her no look or replay, she just kept quiet and was looking at me with her former look, snub mode.

Riley ➡ Look Rukky, Christen and I were just having a friendly conversation… Why are you acting a like kid?

Rukky ➡ Oh excuse me? So protecting my man is now childish abi? Well I don’t care… I want this snobby b*tch to leave here at once.

Riley ➡ Rukky stop calling her a b*tch.

Rukky ➡ Or what? This b*tch needs to go..she has no place here… Ashawo stand up and go.

Riley ➡ Rukky! I’m warning you… Stop now

Rukky ➡ Or what? You can’t do shit, I don’t see why you’re protecting this w—e.

Riley ➡ Rukky this has gone far enough…. I can’t stand this, you and I are done.. Kaput.

Rukky ➡ (shocked) What? You dare break up with me because of this b*tch? No, you can’t…

Riley ➡ I just did. Now you can leave… Please Christen I’m sorry, for all this..

Rukky who couldn’t bear the site of me and Christen became very jealous… And angry.. She raised her hands trying to slap Christen.. But before she could do that, something terrifying happened.
A huge gust of wind blew into the Cafeteria, scattering everyone and everything, People were hurled up and thrown in different direction,(mhiztaemy.com.ng) Rukky who was behind Christen was taken up by the wind and brought down hard on a table… She was really hurt… In fact everyone was hurt except me and Christen…
I was surprised and shocked.. Why were we not disrupted my the wind?
As I looked into Christen face, I saw some kind look on her face like she wasn’t bothered about what happened.. In fact her face showed some kind of happy expression, as our eyes met, she formed a smile and took her leave…
Who was she really?
I too left the Cafeteria and went after her but she was no where in sight.. She was gone again.. I began to wonder what happened in there because it made no sense.. I felt the wind like everyone else but I was unharmed and Christen sat comfortably pretending nothing had happened in there… And if I recall the yesterday when Aaron was hurt, she did nothing but sat down looking at him with sympathy… There must be something about her… She’s the first student to be transferred in a final year class , which was totally not possible and nobody knew her name even the lecturers even when attendance is being called, Her name is not mentioned and what’s more… This strange accidents that have been happening around her… This has to be an explanation… As I was heading to the class, I bumped into Khalid and Tina who were about to get naughty, they were kissing and touching each other sexually.

Riley ➡ Jesus, even in public? What’s come over you? Can’t you find a room?

Khalid ➡ Mind your business… Ehn what happened at the Cafeteria… I heard people were hurt..

Tina ➡ Yeah, and I heard you broke up with Rukky over Sorceress!

Riley ➡ Her name is Christen..
.
Khalid ➡ Shege! So you found out her name? Wonderful…. How did you do it..
.
Riley ➡ Exchanging conversation….. Look, have you guys seen me with a necklace before…
.
Tina ➡ Necklace? No…
.
Khalid ➡ Me neither, is something wrong?
.
Riley ➡ No never mind… I’ll see you guys later..
.
I ran off leaving Tina and Khalid… I knew something wasn’t right about Christen… She knew about a necklace I never even showed my friends and not to mention her sudden out burst when I mentioned about selling it… And now that I recall, that gust of wind was the same as the time I saw that creature outside my window…. Could it be Christen is…. I’ll just have to find out….
As I came out of the school trying to get home, I saw Christen walking alone, she was very far from me… Since my house was an hour’s walk from here, I decided to follow her, I ran after her trying not to loud and noisy.
But despite all that, she was still far, I later caught up to her and followed her from a safe distance, whenever she turned around I would hide somewhere she wouldn’t see me..
I kept on following her for some minutes till we arrived at a corner, which was located in a thick forest, Christen took that corner and I followed her, but to my surprise she wasn’t there… The place had not trees until you got deep and it had an open space out here.. I looked around but she wasn’t there.. Is she a spirit or a witch?
I went back home with these questions filling up my mind… I could barely think straight, even as I returned home, I couldn’t do my usual stuff, I stayed all day in my room thinking about Christen… I had gotten calls from Rukky, Tina and Khalid but I didn’t pick.. All I was interesting in was Christen, Her bewitching face keeps flashing in my mind…
Hours passed and evening came.. Everyone was back at home, My brother Lionel came home and confronted me about Christen, he too had heard about the talks in school going on about us.. But I gave him no reply.. Even when it was time to eat, I didn’t come down, My mom began to get worried and came up to see me.

Sara ➡ Riley honey! Are you okay? You haven’t said anything all day.. Is something wrong?

Riley ➡ No mama, I’m fine..

Lionel ➡ Don’t listen to him mama he’s thinking about the new girl I told you about.
Do you know they both talked?

Sara ➡ Really? Ehn…

Riley ➡ Mama, just leave me alone.. Okay.

My mom quietly left my room leaving me as I wanted… I brought out the necklace staring at it, ever since I found this thing, strange things have been happening…
While I was staring at it.. The necklace suddenly started to shine bright, in a red color, I was so afraid I threw it out but it came back to me instantly… It kept getting brighter and brighter.. What was happening.. I tried smashing the necklace but it wouldn’t break… I was getting out of options and If I don’t do something… My parents will find out about this, so I covered the necklace and took it outside in a hurry, I didn’t know where to go so I headed into the forest… I then realized the only thing to do was to put it back where I found it.. That will solve my dilemma..
I ran to the iroko tree as fast as I can, within minutes I got there but to my surprise some was there and You wouldn’t believe who… It was Christen, she sat at my usually spot on the tree her ears were blocked with her headphones 🎧 but what terrified me was, tree branches were moving like snakes and from the way her hands moved, I’ll say she was making them move..
Seeing this.. I remembered what happened last night, it was no a dream, it was real… So I quietly moved back slowly not to get her attention but then the necklace shone brighter and as if she had waken from a terrible dream… Christen turned around and saw me… Our eyes met and we were all shocked to see each other.. We said nothing but just staring at each other… I wanted to talk but my sixth sense realized it would be unwise… I tried to smile 😊 and pretend everything was Okay but Christen gave me a horrifying stare… Seeing that I knew what was coming so I ran as fast as my legs could carry me but before I could escape, The trees surrounding the forest blocked my way, like a huge wall, I was trapped.. I turned around bracing myself for my fate, I saw Christen standing on air, Her beautiful face had transformed into a scary death look, She raised her hands and the branches stood tall and at each end of the branches, there was a sharp pointy edge.. Is she going to kill me?

Christen ➡ Sorry Riley… Nothing personal you just have to die… My secret is not safe with you… I’m sorry…
.
After saying that, she dropped her arms and the branches came straight at me…
The last thing I could ask myself was… Is this the end?
