Like flash he began running towards Lucia then immediately swirled her around, engulfing her into a protective hug
The gunshot was fired
Luckily Kingsley hugged Lucia before dragging her out of the targeted area. The bullet took the wall.
Kingsley stayed like that, hugging Lucia for some while before he released her and looked back. The person was gone.
His hands palmed her cheek and he scanned through her body with a worried and scared look on his face
"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" He asked, checking her out.
Lucia's eyes still remained so wide like she was in a daze. "What... What just happened?" She stuttered, even her body was shaking due to the sudden action.
"The importance is that you're fine" He said and held her by the shoulder.
"Come let's go" He said and with that, he led her to his car.

<YOON'S MANSION>
"That's all for today's lesson." Finley said and looked at Quinn.
She nodded as if she understood what he just thought her but it was clear she understood nothing. Her cheeks were still blush red and she looked like she's still in a daze.
Finley sighed. Maybe it was a bad idea kissing her, he certainly doesn't want to to be the reason for her academic failure.
"Quinn.." Quinn's heart fluttered when Finley called her name. She looked at him, battling her lashes.
"I'm sorry... For kissing you" Finley said and Quinn frowned.
Why must he always apologize for every little thing he does, like it was a sin to kiss her.
"Why are you apologizing? Didn't you like it?" Quinn asked.
"It's not it, just that-"
"Then stop apologizing, it's.. It's annoying. Besides you promised you'll treat me as a lady" Quinn pouted.
"Okay" Finley smiled lightly and Quinn smiled back
"I need to go now, it's getting late" Finley said and she nodded.
He packed his things and stood up then faced her
"Goodbye" He smiled and Quinn nodded, glancing at his lips.
Her shoulder fell in disappointment when Finley turned and began walking away but he suddenly stopped and turned back.
He pulled her to his arms and pressed his lips on her forehead before pecking her lips.
"Bye" He brushed his hands against his cheeks before walking away.
Quinn touched her lips, blushing so hard.

<KINGSLEY'S CONDO>
"Make sure you investigate anyone who's wearing black and looks suspicious. I want that shooter found before tomorrow night" Kingsley spoke on the phone
"Yes Sir"
Kingsley hung up and kept his phone. He fetched water in a glass and walked back to the living room where Lucia was sitting
She looked lost, several thoughts were running in her mind
"Lucia" He called and she flinched but calmed down when she saw it was Kingsley.
"Here" He handed the glass of water to her before sitting in front of her.
"Thank you for saving me. If you were a second late then I could have been.."
"Don't think about it" Kingsley cut her off.
"I have a spare room in here, you can stay in here, it'll be more dangerous if you leave at this time especially when the culprit hasn't yet been caught." Kingsley said
"Thanks" Lucia replied.
"Just wait here, lemme make something quick for dinner" Kingsley said
"I'll join you" Lucia stood up and followed him
In few minutes they were both in the kitchen, cooking.
"Didn't know you could cook?" Lucia said, looking surprised when she saw Kingsley manoeuvring the kitchen utensils like a pro
Kingsley chuckled. "I lived practically my whole life being independent. You don't expect me not to know how to cook" Kingsley said
Lucia suddenly began feeling bad. It must be hard growing up without a mom, well not like her case is any different.
"Umm don't you miss your mom?" Lucia asked.
Kingsley stared into space for awhile, Lucia could see sadness flash in his eyes but it was for some seconds coz he smiled afterwards.
"Yeah, but that won't change anything right?" Kingsley smiled at her before he continued slicing the onions.
Lucia took in her lips. "Well during days that you feel alone, you can look up at the brightest star in the sky and imagine her looking over you, telling you to be a brave and good boy" Lucia said.
Kingsley abruptly stopped slicing the onions and his gaze swiftly went to her, staring at her with a shocked look on his face.
"Are you sure we've never met before?" Kingsley asked and Lucia furrowed ber brows.
"No, why ask?" Lucia said.
"You remind me so much of someone. Someone I met when I was a kid was it 7 or 8? Well it is as just a day before I went to continue my life at the state" Kingsley said smiling fondly.
"Back then I use to pick on and bully some people. I just felt that life was so unfair to me by taking away my mom while they had theirs so I was kinda envious. I picked on kids who badly beat me up and while I was walking back home with bruises all over I came across a girl. She didn't know me but she was ready to treat my bruises" Kingsley said
Lucia swallowed hard as she stared at him.
"She was the kindest girl I've ever met. She said the exact words of what you just told me, to be a good boy because my mother was watching over me and that my mom won't be happy if I was to be a bad boy. Ever since then I changed, I began hating bullies so much and always protected those who were bullied. She even gave me this locket I always have on" Kingsley said, looking at the necklace round his neck.
Lucia just stared at him with wide eyes. He's the one... He's the grumpy blonde kid she once met when she was young.
"She was abit chubby but honestly to me, she was the prettiest girl I've ever seen. It's so sad I couldn't meet her again. I think she's the first girl I've ever had a crush on" Kingsley smiled and looked at Lucia who looked at him with a look he couldn't understand.
"Don't worry, it's just a crush okay? I'm all yours if you want to have me" Kingsley leaned to her ear and whispered.
"Stop that!" Lucia pushed him off and he chuckled before he faced his work.
Lucia stared at him then slowly smiled. To think that someone like Kingsley once had a crush on her chubby self was somewhat pleasing.
She stared at him for awhile before facing the tomatoes she was slicing.
"I love you"
Lucia immediately looked back at him with wide eyes. Is she starting to hear things now?
Kingsley looked up at her. "I love you, a lot" Kingsley said.
Kingsley smiled and cupped her cheek.
"Even if you love that other guy, it still won't change anything to me. I'll continue loving you and I'll keep protecting you as much as I can, even with my life if I have to" Kingsley said.
They both began staring at each other for awhile before before Kingsley smiled and pinched her nose.
"Little brat" He muttered before facing back what he was doing.
Lucia looked away, hiding the blush that crept up her cheek. Her heart was also racing a marathon at the moment.

<AVERY'S HOUSE>
Avery got home from her nightly job, feeling replenished and happy as usual. She walked in the house and the house was calm, no signs of her mom
"Mom?" Avery called, walking in further.
She stopped when she heard her mother discussing with someone in their living room..
"You really want your daughter to die huh?"
Avery's eyes widened when she heard that, taking slow and steady steps. She peeped in and her eyes widened at the scene she saw in the living room.
Her mother was kneeling down with two hefty men standing behind her. One held a gun pointed at the back of her head as she knelt before the lady who had her legs crossed on top the other, her red heels stood out.
"Please ma'am... I've done what you asked me, the girl is déad. We buried her ourself too." Eloise (Avery's mom) pleaded.
The lady smirked.
"That wasn't the agreement. The agreement was that you kill her and then you hand me that damn locket round her neck" The lady started
"Locket? She doesn't wear any locket round the neck" Eloise whispered
The lady's face immediately twisted in anger.
"Please-"
"Mom..." Avery voice came from the entrance, it sounded barely like a whisper
Everyone turned to Avery who looked so pale like she saw a ghost. Of course she was happy about her déad but never had she imagined it to be caused by her mother.
"You... You... You killed that fat girl" Avery stuttered

<MORNING>
At the early hours of the morning, K~KIM ENTERTAINMENT released the news of the girl's comeback and a teaser was also released along making the net bubble with the information.
Most especially the net was divided into two; those who were happy and was anticipating for “Pinky Pixies” comeback and also those who were bashing and hating on them, most especially Lucia.
Lucia could be seen in her room, getting ready for school. She picked her phone and the first message that popped in was Kingsley's.
“FROM TODAY, YOU'LL BE SET IN THE SPOTLIGHT. I WANT YOU TO KEEP YOUR CHIN HIGH AND DON'T LET ANY HATERS DISCOURAGE YOU. I'LL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK, LOVE YOU”
Lucia's eyes widened. She had completely forgotten that today will be the release of their teaser.
She immediately went online to watch it. Her jaw dropped as she watched it, it looked so good but her eyes was on Scarlett
"She's really the visual of the group for a reason" Lucia
"Arrggggghh! Girls!!!"
As expected the scream came from Scarlett. She picked her handbag and walked out to see the girls watching the teaser too.
"It's so good!" Eva smiled widely.
"I know right?" Becky smiled.
They talked some more about it before leaving their dorm. A car was parked outside with the driver waiting for them
Kingsley had told her that he'll have his men keep an eye on her 24/7 so she wasn't surprised when she saw the car.
"Miss" The driver opened the door for them and they got in
"We haven't released the song yet and we're treated this lavishly. F*+*k, we're rich!!" Scarlett squealed as the car drove off.
They got to school and were surprised to see a crowd outside. The girls thought they were fans of the boys but were shocked when they stepped out and screams erupted from the crowd as they pushed their way towards them.

👥 Can we have an autograph?
👥 How did you girl manage to get under the biggest entertainment industry in Korea?
The guards stopped the crowd as the girls made their way in school with several camera lights flashing at them
"What the.." Scarlett breathed out when they got in
"I was so nervous" Lucia sighed out. She didn't fail to notice the gaze of the students following them
They got in their hall and Scarlett was suddenly dragged to a corner..
"Babe!" Scarlett eyes brightened but Jackson immediately slammed his lips against hers.
The kiss was short but deep, knocking out the air in her lungs and when he pulled away, she was breathless.
"This is for making me proud baby" Jackson said and hugged her.
"Congratulations... So this was the surprise you talked about" He whispered
Scarlett hugged him back with a smile. They broke the hug to look at each other.
"Babe, starting from today I'll be having cameras lurking in every single angle I go, wanting to know about my personal life and I don't want it to affect our relationship... Can we please keep our relationship private? Till I'm ready" Scarlett said.
Jackson smiled and tugged her hair behind her ear. "Of course babe, anything for you" He said and Scarlett smiled before pecking his lips.
"I love you!"

Lucia looked at the flask of food she had in her hand and a grim look appeared on her face
"How do I give it to him now without giving off the wrong message." Lucia sighed out
"Hey! Here, I made this to thank you... Nah this sounds like a pick me girl" Lucia sighed.
She fixed her hair when she was approaching Kingsley's locker and composed herself before walking forwards.
Her steps slowed down and her face fell when she saw Kingsley leaning on his locker while a girl stood in front of him.
He has his hands in his pocket, looking as s+xy as usual as he looked down the girl who talk stylishly touching him. He seem to smile at what she said and the girl blushed when she saw his smile.
His gaze went up to see Lucia standing there with a grave look on her face.
"Lucia-"
Lucia turned and began walking away.
"Wait, Lucia!" Kingsley went after her and the girl hissed as she rolled her eyes
"Why did she ruin things for me"
"Wait!" Kingsley caught up with her when she was about to climb the stairs.
"What?" Lucia looked down at him since he was two steps below making him look shorter.
"I think you had something to tell me, wait why do I have a feeling you're angry" Kingsley raised a brow
"Nothing, you can go back to her" Lucia rolled her eyes and made to leave but Kingsley grabbed her wrist.
"Wait.. Are you jealous?" Kingsley tilted his head to the side, looking amused.
Lucia rolled her eyes and looked away. Well how does he expect her to feel, yesterday he confessed to her about how he'll continue loving her and today he met him with another girl, in a very compromising position.
Kingsley climbed the two stairs, making him look taller. He cupped her cheek, smiling
"You're jealous, aren't you?"
"What if I am? Is it forbidden to be jealous?" Lucia snapped but Kingsley smiled even more.
He wanted to tease her even more but she looked really annoyed already
"I'm Kingsley, I'll never promise you something I'll never keep. Like I said I'm all yours but you don't expect me not to have female friends huh?" Kingsley said
Lucia kept looking away, feeling embarrassed and stupid for feeling this way. Kingsley held her chin and turned her face to him.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked and Lucia's eyes widened. This will be their second kiss, and the first time he's asking permission before doing something.
Lucia nodded and Kingsley cupped her cheek. Ever so softly, he pressed his lips against hers. Lucia dropped the flask down as her hands went to his hair.
Kingsley smiled in the kiss, his hands immediately found his way to her waist, pulling her closer as their lips moved on each other.
"Kingsley..."
