Rachel's face turned pale, her eyes wide with shock, as she stood frozen in the doorway. Violet pushed Shawn away quickly and rushed to her room, her face red with embarrassment.

Shawn's expression turned confused, his eyebrows furrowing, as he sighed and looked around the room.

Some moments later, both Shawn and Rachel were seated in the living room. Rachel was sobbing quietly, her face buried in her hands, while Shawn sighed, looking at her with concern.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" Rachel asked, her voice shaking. "What's going on between you and your daughter?"

Shawn's face turned serious, his eyes narrowing. "She is not my daughter," he said, his voice firm.

Rachel's expression turned surprised, her eyes widening in shock. "Huh?" she exclaimed.

Shawn's face turned calm, his eyes softening. "It's not what you think, Rachel," he said.

Rachel's face turned confused, her eyebrows furrowing. "What I shouldn't think?" she asked. "She is not your daughter?"

Shawn stared at her, his expression unreadable.

The next day, Rachel's face was red and puffy from crying, her eyes sunken with sadness. Her family was trying to console her after she told them what she saw between Shawn and Violet.

V's face turned smug, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I told you it was a bad idea," he said.

Mabel's expression turned confused, her eyebrows furrowing. "Are you really sure of what you are saying?" she asked. "Shawn isn't Violet's dad?"

Rachel's face turned determined, her eyes flashing with conviction. "You heard me, and he told me himself when I confronted him," she said.

Mr. Mark's face turned thoughtful, his eyes narrowing. "I knew Shawn never had a wife, let alone a child," he said.

Mrs. Ruth's expression turned curious, her eyebrows furrowing. "If she isn't his child, who then is she to him?" she asked.

V's face turned teasing, his eyes glinting with amusement. "His sister, I presume," he said.

Rachel's face turned adamant, her eyes flashing with conviction. "How can he kiss his sister? I am sure that Violet is his fiancée," she said.

Mabel's expression turned confused, her eyebrows furrowing. "This is confusing," she said.

Mr. Mark's face turned reassuring, his eyes softening. "It's okay, dear, stop crying, you haven't lost him yet," he said.

Mrs. Ruth's expression turned supportive, her eyes warm. "Your father is right, he will still be yours," she said.

V's face turned skeptical, his eyebrows furrowing. "Stop giving her false hope, Shawn will never be hers," he said, and they stared hard at him.

Mrs. Ruth's expression turned stern, her eyes narrowing. "Be supportive of your sister for once," she said.

V rolled his eyes, his face turned exasperated.

___

Shawn sat at the breakfast table, his face calm and relaxed, as he focused on his meal. Violet walked in, her face sulking, and sat down beside him. One of the staff served her, and Violet stared at Shawn, seeing how focused and relaxed he was.

Shawn raised his face to meet hers, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. "What, is there something on my face?" he asked, his tone neutral.

Violet's face turned away, her eyes cast downward, and she began to sulk again. Shawn resumed eating, his expression unchanged.

Then, Violet spoke up, her voice cold. "Aren't you going to apologize?"

Shawn's eyes narrowed slightly, his face still calm. "Apologize for what?" he asked, his tone steady.

Violet's face turned red, her eyes flashing with anger. "F...for last night," she sputtered.

Shawn's expression remained calm, his eyes still focused on his meal. "What happened last night?" he asked, his tone neutral.

Violet's face turned incredulous, her eyes wide with shock. "You...," she started to say, but Shawn raised his face to hers again.

"What happened last night? I can't remember," he said, his tone still neutral.

Violet's face turned cold, her eyes flashing with anger. "Do I have to spill it out loud to you?" she asked, her voice dripping with venom.

Shawn's expression remained calm, his eyes still focused on Violet. "If it pleases you, you should, because I can't remember what happened last night. The only thing I remember is me rescuing you from Sly, which I didn't get a thank you for," he said, his tone still neutral.

Violet rolled her eyes at him, her face still red with anger. "You kissed me," she said quietly.

Shawn's expression turned slightly amused, his eyes glinting with humor. "Oh, that," he said. Violet's face turned angry, her eyes flashing with anger. "So, you remember I kissed you last night, and you didn't remember I saved you last night, and I deserve a thank you for it," Shawn said, his tone still neutral.

Violet's face turned cold, her eyes flashing with anger. "You stole another kiss from me," she said.

Shawn's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his face still calm. "Another kiss? When did I steal the first one?" he asked.

Violet's face turned red, her eyes flashing with anger. "You took advantage of me when I was ill," she said.

Shawn scoffed, his face still calm. "I told you, that wasn't a kiss," he said.

Violet's face turned angry, her eyes flashing with anger. "And last night?" she asked.

Shawn's expression turned slightly amused, his eyes glinting with humor. "That wasn't a kiss either, it's just a way to shut you up from talking," he said, and Violet frowned, her face still red with anger.

Violet's face turned concerned, her eyebrows furrowing. "You should think of a way to mend things with your fiancée, she got the wrong idea," she said.

Shawn's expression turned calm, his eyes softening. "She is not my fiancée," he said, and Violet's eyes widened in surprise.

Violet's face turned curious, her eyebrows furrowing. "You two break up? Was it because of what happened?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

Shawn's expression turned indifferent, his eyes cast downward. He ignored Violet's question and stood up, leaving for his room. Violet stared after him, her face still showing surprise.

___

Two days later, Violet sat alone in the hall, her assigned guard watching from the door entrance. Shawn had assigned her guard back to her for safety, and this time she was okay with it.

Mabel entered the hall and caught sight of Violet, rushing to sit next to her. "Hey," Mabel said, jolting Violet out of her thoughts. Violet sighed, her face still pale.

Mabel's face turned cheerful, her eyes sparkling. "I can see your bodyguard is back," she said, smiling at Violet. Violet's face turned sad, her eyes cast downward. "What happened," Mabel asked, noticing Violet's pale face.

Violet's face turned apologetic, her eyes welling up with tears. "You can go ahead and scold me, yell at me, I don't care. I know you hate me now because your sister must have told you guys what happened," Violet said sadly.

Mabel's face turned reassuring, her eyes softening. "Of course not, I will never hate you for what happened. I know you have a reason for keeping it to yourself," she said.

Violet's face turned concerned, her eyebrows furrowing. "Am sorry, is your sister okay?" she asked.

Mabel's face turned thoughtful, her eyes cast downward. "Yeah, I guess," she said, and Violet sighed sadly. Mabel's face turned curious, her eyebrows furrowing. "But why did you lie that he was your father?" she asked.

Violet's face turned sheepish, her eyes avoiding Mabel's gaze. "I just don't know what to say at that time, seeing the age difference between us, I just thought that was the best thing to say," Violet said.

Mabel's face turned teasing, her eyes sparkling. "Then, who is he? Your boyfriend or your husband?" she asked.

Violet's face turned serious, her eyes cast downward. "None," she said. Mabel's face turned curious, her eyebrows furrowing. "Let's say I am his debtor," Violet said, and Mabel's expression turned confused.

"Debtor?" Mabel asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

Violet nodded, her face still serious. "It's a long story, when I am ready I will tell you all about it," she said.

Mabel's face turned understanding, her eyes softening. "Okay," she said, and they smiled at each other.
