Days later, Shawn received a phone call from Mr. Mark, and his expression turned thoughtful as he listened to the proposal. He agreed to the dinner invitation and hung up the phone.
Later, at lunch, Shawn informed Violet about the dinner plans. His expression turned serious, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Get prepared, you are coming with me this weekend for a family dinner," he said, his voice firm.
Violet's expression turned surprised, her eyes widening slightly. "Really? You are having dinner with your family?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
Shawn's expression turned annoyed, his eyebrows raising slightly. "Don't ask silly questions, just get yourself ready," he said, his voice firm.
Violet's expression turned defiant, her eyes sparkling with challenge. "What if I refuse?" she asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.
Shawn's expression turned stern, his eyes narrowing slightly. "You don't have a choice, I decide for you," he said, his voice firm.
Violet's expression turned disgusted, her eyes rolling. She scoffed and continued her meal, avoiding Shawn's gaze, her expression sulky.
During the weekend, Shawn arrived with Violet at Mr. Mark's mansion, and Violet's expression turned surprised, her eyes widening in amazement.
"This is Mabel's house," she thought to herself, her expression fascinated.
As they entered the living room, everyone welcomed them warmly, their faces filled with smiles.
Mabel's expression turned excited, her eyes sparkling with delight, as she hugged Violet tightly. "I'm so glad you're here," she said, beaming.
As they made their way to the dining table, Violet's expression turned amazed, her eyes scanning the variety of food spread out before them. Mr. Mark's expression turned pleased, his eyes sparkling with hospitality. "I am so glad you could honor my invitation, Mr. Shawn," he said, smiling.
Shawn's expression turned polite, his eyes sparkling with courtesy. "It's always a pleasure," he said, smiling.
Rachel's expression turned flirtatious, her eyes batting at Shawn. "I am happy you are here," she said, smiling.
V's expression turned friendly, his eyes sparkling with warmth, as he turned to Violet. "So, Violet, how are you doing? I didn't know when you left the party the other day," he said, smiling.
Violet's expression turned sheepish, her eyes avoiding V's gaze. "Yeah, I just had to rush home because I got a time limit to spend at the party," she said, her voice laced with apology.
V's expression turned grateful, his eyes sparkling with appreciation. "Oh, but anyway, thank you for the present, I love it," he said, smiling.
Violet's expression turned pleased, her eyes sparkling with delight. "You are welcome," she said, smiling.
Shawn's expression turned stern, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Her name is Sofia, not Violet," he said, correcting V.
Violet's expression turned surprised, her eyes widening slightly, as she looked at Shawn. V's expression turned curious, his eyes sparkling with interest. "Really? Is that your name?" he asked, looking at Violet.
Mabel's expression turned helpful, her eyes sparkling with explanation. "Yeah, she has two names, but she prefers being called Violet," she said, smiling.
V's expression turned thoughtful, his eyes sparkling with consideration. "Hmm, nice, I think I like the name, Violet," he said, smiling.
Violet's expression turned pleased, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Aww! Thank you," she said, smiling, and noticed Shawn's hard gaze on her. She quickly composed herself, her expression turning neutral.
Shawn's expression turned disapproving, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Violet is a color and doesn't suit her, her name is Sofia, and I will prefer you call her that," he said, giving V a fake smile.
V's expression turned understanding, his eyes sparkling with comprehension, as he nodded and focused on his meal.
After the mouthwatering meal, Mr. Mark and Shawn moved to the balcony alone, each with a glass of wine, while the rest of the group waited in the living room, engaged in discussion.
Mr. Mark's expression turned grateful, his eyes sparkling with appreciation. "Thank you for coming once again, you don't know how happy I am now," he said, and they clinked their glasses together.
Shawn's expression turned polite, his eyes sparkling with courtesy. "You don't have to, call me whenever you need my help and I will answer to you," he said, and they chuckled and sipped their wine.
Mr. Mark's expression turned serious, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I actually invited you for dinner because there is a proposal I need you to do for me," he said, and Shawn nodded, his expression interested.
"Ok, what could that be?" Shawn asked, his expression curious, and
Mr. Mark's expression turned cautious, his eyes sparkling with hesitation. "Promise me you won't get upset about it?" he asked, and Shawn's expression turned confused, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.
"I promise, I will never get upset with your proposal, we both have come a long way," Shawn said, his voice reassuring, and Mr. Mark smiled, his expression relieved.
A while later, they joined the rest of the group in the living room, Mr. Mark's face beaming with excitement, while Shawn's expression remained expressionless. Rachel, noticing her father's smiling face, knew that things had gone well.
Shawn's expression turned polite, his eyes sparkling with courtesy. "We will take our leave now," he said, shaking hands with Mr. Mark, while Violet hugged Mabel tightly.
Mabel's expression turned sad, her eyes sparkling with disappointment. "See you in school on Monday," she said, smiling, as they pulled away from each other.
V's expression turned teasing, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Alright, bye Violet...I mean Sofia," he said, smiling, as they left.
Rachel's expression turned curious, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Dad, what did he say? Did he agree?" she asked, and Mr. Mark's expression turned cautious, his eyes sparkling with hesitation.
Mabel's expression turned confused, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Agree what?" she asked, and Mr. Mark's expression turned evasive, his eyes avoiding Mabel's gaze.
"I have told him already, he said he will give me feedback soon," Mr. Mark said, and Rachel's expression turned ecstatic, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
V's expression turned skeptical, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Why are you so happy? He hasn't said yes, yet," he said, and Rachel's expression turned confident, her eyes sparkling with assurance.
Mabel's expression turned confused, her eyes narrowing slightly. "What's going on?" she asked, and Rachel's expression turned mischievous, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Well, little sis, your big sis here is going to be the almighty handsome and most feared man in the universe's wife soon," Rachel said, and Mabel's expression turned shocked, her jaw dropping in surprise.
"Who?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and Rachel's expression turned triumphant, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Shawn!" she exclaimed, and Mabel's expression turned stunned, her eyes wide with surprise.
Along the driveway, Shawn's expression turned contemplative, his eyes narrowing slightly as he thought about the proposal Mr. Mark had asked him. He was clearly troubled, his brow furrowed in concern. Violet, seated next to him but far away, was oblivious to his distress. Her expression turned carefree, her eyes sparkling with delight as she gazed out the window, smiling at every building they passed.
Some minutes later, they arrived home, and Violet's expression turned happy, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she hopped out of the car. Shawn followed her, his expression still troubled, his eyes fixed on Violet's back.
As they walked inside, they were surprised to see a young lady dressed sexily in a black shirt and red heels, looking around the room. Her eyes met Shawn's, and his expression turned surprised, his eyebrows raising slightly. He recognized her as the lady he had a one-night stand with some days ago. The lady's expression turned seductive, her eyes sparkling with flirtation as she smiled at Shawn. Violet, oblivious to the tension, walked past her, her expression still happy.
