Violet and Mabel were eating at the canteen, chatting and laughing together.
Mabel's expression turned relieved, her eyes sparkling. "Finally, you are free from bodyguard," Mabel said, her expression turning amused, her eyes twinkling.
Violet's expression turned determined, her eyes narrowing. "Yeah, now is the time to get a job, have you asked around?" she asked.
Mabel's expression turned thoughtful, her eyes considering. "Not yet, I will now since you have no guard around you," she said.
Violet's expression turned pleased, her eyes smiling. "Good," she said. They smiled and continued chatting.
Meanwhile, Shawn was in his office, engrossed in his work. His PA entered, his expression turning formal, his eyes respectful. "Good day, sir, there is someone here to see you," he said.
Shawn's expression turned distracted, his eyes still fixed on his work. "Who?" he asked.
His PA's expression turned neutral, his eyes straight. "A young lady, named Ms. Rachel," he said.
Shawn's expression turned hesitant, his eyes narrowing. He raised his face to his PA, his expression turning thoughtful. "Let her in," he said.
His PA bowed and left. A moment later, Rachel entered, smiling brightly, looking attractive in her mini wear. "Hey," she said, her expression turning flirtatious, her eyes sparkling.
Shawn's expression turned surprised, his eyes widening. They exchanged a kiss on the cheeks before he offered her a seat. "It's a surprise to see you here," Shawn said, his expression turning polite, his eyes courteous.
Rachel's expression turned charming, her eyes smiling. "Yeah, my dad actually directed your office to me, I just came so we can have lunch together," she said.
Shawn's expression turned hesitant, his eyes narrowing. "Um, sure," he said. He phoned his PA to come to his office.
"Yes, sir," the PA said.
Shawn's expression turned formal, his eyes straight. "I will be out for a while," he said. The PA nodded. "Shall we," Shawn said, and left with Rachel.
Some minutes later, they arrived at a fancy restaurant not too far from the company. They were led to a VIP section, and Shawn's expression turned impressed, his eyes widening slightly. Rachel's expression turned pleased, her eyes sparkling.
They made an order, and soon their orders were brought to them. They started eating.
Rachel's expression turned grateful, her eyes smiling. "Thank you for agreeing to have lunch with me," she said.
Shawn's expression turned polite, his eyes courteous. "It's nothing, I mean this is our first meeting together, so I couldn't reject such an offer," he said.
Rachel's expression turned hopeful, her eyes sparkling. "Does this mean we can repeat it, in order to know each other better?" she asked.
Shawn's expression turned hesitant, his eyes narrowing.
Rachel's expression turned sincere, her eyes warm. "It's okay if you don't want to answer, but I want to be sincere with you, I really like you, though, and I wish we can be more than this," she said.
Shawn's expression turned serious, his eyes stern. "You don't know me too well, Rachel. I am not the type of man you want to end up with," he said.
Rachel's expression turned determined, her eyes flashing. "I know who you are, Shawn, and I can tolerate your attitude. I know you are surrounded by enemies and the underworld you are into. I am not scared of that. I like you the way you are, and I want to fight this obstacle with you," she said.
Shawn's expression turned amused, his eyes twinkling. "I like your courage," he teased.
Rachel's expression turned proud, her eyes sparkling. "I learned that from my mom," she said.
Rachel's expression turned hopeful, her eyes pleading. "So, can we give each other a chance to see how this works out?" she asked.
Shawn stared at her, his expression turning thoughtful, his eyes narrowing.
Days flew by, Shawn and Rachel started to get close to each other, while Violet kept searching for a part-time job, which she finally found at an exclusive restaurant. She begged Mabel to accompany her to the place. After the manager of the restaurant interviewed her and asked her to resume the next day, Violet's expression turned excited, her eyes sparkling.
Mabel's expression turned impressed, her eyes widening. "Wow, this place looks nice, though, and the payment is wow," she said, as they came out of the restaurant.
Violet's expression turned thrilled, her eyes shining. "You can say that again, finally, I got a job," she said excitedly.
Mabel's expression turned cautionary, her eyebrows furrowing. "Just be careful that your dad didn't find out, or else, you will be sorry," she said.
Then, Mabel's driver came over, his expression turning polite, his eyes respectful. Mabel's expression turned considerate, her eyes warm. "You wanna join me?" she asked.
Violet's expression turned declining, her eyes smiling. "No, you know we are not going in the same direction, don't worry, the bus station is not far from here," she said.
Mabel's expression turned concerned, her eyes narrowing. "Ok, bye then, see you in school tomorrow," she said, as she entered the car, and they drove away, while Violet waved at them.
Violet turned to leave when two guards, wearing shaded glasses and fitted suits, stood in front of her, their expressions turning serious, their eyes stern.
Violet's expression turned surprised, her eyes widening. "Um, who are you?" she asked.
"We want you to come with us," one of the guards said politely but seriously, his expression turning firm, his eyes stern.
Violet's expression turned curious, her eyebrows raising. "Why?" she asked.
The other guard's expression turned reassuring, his eyes warm. "We mean no harm, our boss wants to see you," he said.
Violet's expression turned skeptical, her eyes narrowing. "What if I refused? Who is your boss?" she asked.
The first guard's expression turned persuasive, his eyes pleading. "Just come with us, and we promise not to hurt you," he said.
Violet stared at them, her expression turning cautious, her eyes searching. "You guys don't look like Shawn's men, how am I sure you are not kidnappers?" she said.
The guards chuckled, their expressions turning amused, their eyes sparkling. They took off their glasses and bent slightly to her, their faces smiling. "We are not, our boss wants to see you and talk to you," one of the guards said.
Violet's expression turned uncertain, her eyes darting between them. "How am I sure?" she asked.
The other guard's expression turned sincere, his eyes warm. "You don't need to trust us, but we promise not to harm you, and we will return you home safely," he said.
Violet thought for a while, observing the sincerity in their eyes. Her expression turned resolute, her eyes narrowing. "Ok, fine, but if you tried anything stupid with me, just know you won't be spared if someone finds out that I am missing," she threatened.
The guards nodded, their expressions turning serious, their eyes stern. They led the way to their van, and Violet hesitated to go inside, observing the whole van first before entering. They shut the door and ordered the driver to drive.
The drive way took an hour As the van pulled up to the mansion, Violet's eyes widened in awe, her expression turning impressed. The mansion was a grand, modern structure with sleek lines and expansive windows that seemed to stretch on forever. The exterior walls were made of a warm, honey-colored stone that glowed softly in the fading light of day.
The mansion's facade was symmetrical, with a central entrance flanked by two wings that curved outward like embracing arms. The roof was a series of interconnected domes, each one rising to a subtle peak. The overall effect was one of understated opulence, as if the mansion was quietly confident in its own grandeur.
As the van came to a stop, Violet's gaze was drawn to the entrance, where a pair of ornate wooden doors stood open, revealing a glimpse of a marble-floored foyer beyond. The guards, who had been silent during the drive, now smiled and gestured for Violet to exit the van.
Their expressions turned courteous, their eyes warm. "Welcome to our boss's residence," one of them said, offering Violet a hand to help her down from the van. Violet's expression turned curious, her eyes sparkling with anticipation as she stepped out onto the driveway and gazed up at the mansion's imposing facade.
