"Good," Dominic's voice was rich with delight. "Because I am your boyfriend, Baby."
Oh. My. God!
Did he just say what I think I heard?
He did, didn't he?
The Dominic Morozov is now my boyfriend, right?
The euphoria bubbling within me is beyond description. But I knew if there was one way to convey my inner feelings, it was through my eyes, as my dearest boyfriend once remarked how expressive they are.
Ah! Boyfriend, hehehehe.
Blimey, I feel as though I'm going mà d with ecstasy coursing through my veins. Standing beneath the starry midnight sky, on the sandy shores of Hawaii, with the sound of waves crashing against the beach and the rain cascading down upon us like a gentle embrace, felt like a dream come true. A dream I never dared to entertain because I feared heartbreak.
The warm tropical air was infused with the sweet scent of plumeria, and the soft, wintry breeze brushed against our faces. Yet here we were, gazing into each other's souls without uttering a word, grinning like total fóols.
After all, we are fóols in love, aren't we?
"Just kiss already." Julianna's exasperated voice sliced through the thick tension that had enveloped us, and we both turned to her simultaneously. "Come on, go ahead, I’m waiting." My best friend stood there in one of her ‘boyfriend’ jerseys at the threshold of our shared room, her head slightly tilted with a cheeky grin.
"Yeah, we’re not going to do that."
"If you insist."
Dominic and I chimed in unison. Just as I turned to give him a reproving look, a gasp escaped my lips as he pulled me impossibly closer to him.
With one hand resting on my waist and the other cradling my face, Dominic leaned in, his eyes locked onto mine, as if he was determined to savour this moment, etching it into his memory before his lips finally brushed against mine. The rain intensified, drumming a romantic rhythm on the roof of the cabin, while the waves crashed against the shore in perfect synchrony.
He inhaled a shaky breath the moment our lips met, prompting a sly smile to tug at my lips at the reaction I elicited from him. The sensation of our lips joining was serenely unreal. I could feel the softness of his lips, the warmth of his breath, and the gentle pressure of his mouth on mine. The world around us faded into oblivion, leaving only the sound of the rain and the rhythm of our hearts. It felt like an eternity since we last kissed. It felt like our very first kiss all over again.
The tension simmered as Dominic's tongue brushed against my bottom lip, urging me to grant him entry. I complied, and he deepened the kiss, his mouth hungry for mine. I pulled him closer, fingers clutching at his damp shirt, the fabric clinging to his chest. Our bodies were already pressed together, but I craved more. I tilted my head, angling my lips to surrender to his kiss, and Dominic seized the opportunity, his tongue exploring every corner of my mouth. The rain pounded around us, creating a passionate rhythm on the sand as the waves crashed against the shore in perfect harmony.
Breaths began to escape my lungs as Dominic stole them away, much like how he had taken my heart. That charming rogúe, leaving me breathless and enchanted. With my palms resting on his chest, I gave him a gentle push, pulling away to inhale something that wasn’t him.
Though, I wouldn't mind being suffocated by the scent of the musk that lingers around him, a scent I still can’t quite place. All I know is that it’s utterly fantastic, and I adore it.
Speaking of his scent, as I pushed Dominic away to finally breathe in actual oxygen, his aroma enveloped me, mingling with the bone-chilling winter cold like a comforting blanket. I exhaled, our gazes locking as we continued to say nothing.
"It feels like Titanic all over again." I spun my head towards Julianna, astonished that she would even dare to say such a thing. "What?" She shrugged nonchalantly, as if oblivious to the incredulous look I was giving her.
"Don’t the two lovers dÃe at the end?" I heard Dominic mutter.
I faced him and retorted, "No, just Jack." Then I turned back to my best friend, who now appeared to comprehend the look I was giving her. "Jack diéd." I stated, fixing her with a not-so-playful glare.
"Oops."
I opened my mouth to say something, but Dominic chose the perfect moment to sneeze, halting the words right at the tip of my tongue. I shot him a concerned glance, “Let’s go inside.”
“I’ll get towels.”
She didn’t even wait a second before vanishing into the house. I turned to tell Dominic to follow me in, but he had something else up his sleeve.
He took both of my hands in his large ones, the smooth skin of his thumbs brushing against the backs of my palms. Once again, my breath caught in my chest as I silently stared at him. “I don’t think I’ve apologised for being…” He struggled to find the right word.
I helped him, of course. “An ar$éhole. You already did that.”
“Yeah, that.”
“What?”
“Do I have to say it again?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, since I don’t want to start the first few minutes of being your boyfriend on a bà d note, I’ll say it. Genevieve, I acted irrationally on the night of your prom. I shouldn’t have done that, and I am sorry. I hope you can handle a bit of ar$ehóle-y behaviour from me because I think I get a bit immature when I’m jealous.”
A bit?
“Eh, I can manage.” I pursed my lips to stifle the smile threateñing to overtake my whole face. “It’s not like I have a choice.”
No words left his mouth, but the look he gave was more expressive than any words could be. There was a warning in his eyes laced with a hint of playfulness. That made me laugh out loud, my head thrown back as I revelled in this feeling I was experiencing right now.
Taking my hands from his, I wrapped them around his neck, pulling him close to me. “I like you being jealous.” My whisper came out lower than I expected, and sensually hoarser. “It makes me feel like I’m truly yours. And I love, love, love being yours, Dominic Morozov.”
“Are you two going to make out again?” Julianna’s question cut off my boyfriend from whatever he wanted to say. “The towels are here. And I think there’s a storm coming.”
Aw, boyfriend, hehehehe.
“Nope, that’s enough PDA for the night.” I replied, laughing at my own answer.
As Dominic stepped into the threshold of the cabin, all the playfulness drained from Julianna’s expression and she backed away, though I think she thought she was being subtle. I noticed, and so did Dominic, who smirked.
I hit him with a towel before wrapping it around my shoulders. “Don’t mind him. He might be tall and brooding, but he’s a sweetheart.” I paused to rethink before quickly adding, “Sometimes and when he wants to be.” Dominic grinned at me while giving me a ‘really?’ look, to which I nodded. “I’ll be right back.”
Jules instantly rushed to me, nerves and fright evident in her eyes, body, and expressions. “Can I come with?”
“I just want to get changed.”
She swallowed. “I know. But can I come with you?”
“Jules, you’re safe with him.”
An obviously mocking, hysterical laugh burst out of Dominic, and I tilted my head to glare at him. His laughter didn’t fully stop; it just lessened into a grin under my glare.
“Fine. Come with me.”
My best friend, Jules, and I entered the bedroom we would be sleeping in tonight at the same time, and I didn’t hesitate for the smallest second to retrieve my clothes from the wardrobe.
I was cold. I was confused. But most importantly, I was happy.
After I solved my first problem of getting rid of the cold clothes and replacing them with new, warm ones, I was left with just one unsolved problem.
How did he know exactly where I was?
I mean, yeah, I know I posted pictures on Instagram showing that I’m in Hawaii. But Hawaii is big enough for him not to easily locate me without some help.
I know he didn’t track me because I switched off my location, and also my phone, after posting the picture on my IG account and story. So, it leaves only one person.
The same person who is scared to stay in the same place as him: Julianna Ember Nelsons.
“You know,” I stopped to sit on the bed beside her as she fidgeted with her manicured fingernails. My face masked a flawless confused look as I continued, “I can’t help but wonder how Dominic found me here. Isn’t it strange?”
“What’s strange is that you’re now the head of the Brà tva girlfriend, Vie.” she said, her voice a tapestry of every emotion known to humankind.
Joy, because she was genuinely pleased for me. Anxiety, knowing she could never quite shake off that little detail about my boyfriend. Melancholy, as she realised I would want them to be on good terms.
I took one of her hands from her lap and clasped it in mine, fidgeting with it in an attempt to both comfort her and coax at least a smile from her. “Jules,” I said, meeting her gaze. “I really like Dominic, like, a lot, and you know I’m not dà ft enough to give my heart to someone who doesn’t understand the importance of my best friend in my life. I swéar on my life, you’re a hundred percent safe with Dominic. He won’t húrt you, because to húrt you is to húrt me, and he’s far too smitten with me to play such a foólish game.” We both chuckled, though hers was a bit weaker, almost fragile. “And I’m not exaggerating when I say he’s a sweetheart. Well, to me, at least. I haven’t seen him be sweet to anyone else. So, please trust me and stop treating my boyfriend like he’s some reanimated zómbie from a nineties horror film.”
It was then that Julianna burst into genuine laughter, and I felt a surge of delight at having drawn that out of her.
“Can I go to my boyfriend now? Perhaps introduce you two?”
“Alright,” she replied. “But I can’t linger, as he’ll likely want to keep you to himself. I’ll pop over to Alessio’s cabin.”
A soft hum escaped my lips as I fixed her with a teasing look. Julianna turned a bright shade of crimson, even without me uttering a word, which honestly made me chuckle.
The Knight family, to which Alessio belongs, is one of the wealthiest in the United Kingdom. But when he mentioned that his parents owned a cabin in Hawaii, I assumed it would be just the one. However, that was far from what I encountered upon our arrival.
Would you like to know what I saw? A villa. A whole row of cabins with breathtaking views of the ocean. Ah, it is truly an utterly beautiful sight.
We, the Kings, have our holiday residence, but it’s merely a single towering building. While it boasts luxury, I can’t help but feel that this place surpasses it in charm. The Knights have created a retreat where each person can enjoy their own cabin, nestled amid stunning views of the ocean. It’s a sense of intimacy and freedom that I find utterly delightful, and I truly prefer it to our grand estate. Here, everyone can unwind without intruding on one another, and that, to me, is worth its weight in gold.
Anyway, we both ambled out of the room to find Dominic drying his hair with a towel, still clad in his damp clothes. Why on earth didn’t he just take them off? The faint scent of candle perfume lingered in the air, mixing with the warmth of the room.
“Dominic,” his gaze met mine first before darting to my best friend, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips as she attempted to retreat once more. “Stop pulling that face at her.”
“What face, my love?”
“That one you're making right now.”
Wait! Did he just refer to me as ‘my love’? As in, his love?
I cleared my throat and stepped forward, the plush carpet beneath my feet softening my approach. “Dominic, this is my best friend, my sister from another mother, the reason I am not a solitary figure who spends the entire day lost in books,” I emphasised, hoping to make it clear that she was off-limits for any roughhousing he might consider. Then, I veered off slightly, “Although, I must admit, I would quite enjoy spending an entire day reading. It sounds lovely.”
Just the thought of it feels surreal, almost fantastical to imagine a day filled with reading, but I know I would relish it. There’s a certain bliss that comes with reading, and nothing brings me more joy than bliss.
Actually, myself. I bring bliss to myself.
“Julianna Nelsons.” I continued, unexpectedly earning a chuckle from both of them. “And Jules, you already know him. But I think he deserves a proper reintroduction since he’s my boyfriend now.”
Hmm, boyfriend, hehehehe.
I am NOT okay.
••
Julianna departed about four minutes ago for Alessio's cabin, just as Dominic made his way to the bedroom to change into dry clothes. The sound of the door creaking closed echoed softly through the house. Luckily, I had ‘borrowed’ too many of his hoodies, so I was able to offer him one while Alessio provided him with a pair of his elder brother's sweatpants.
I was settled comfortably on the sofa, cocooned in the heaviest blanket, feeling the soft fabric envelop me like a warm hug. The glow from the television cast a gentle light in the dim room as I watched Gilmore Girls, the familiar banter filling the air with a sense of comfort. Just then, the sofa dipped slightly as Dominic pulled me into him, the warmth radiating from his body mixing with the heaviness of the blanket.
I turned my head, meeting his stunning pair of eyes, and couldn’t help but smile at their beauty. They sparkled like gems, reflecting the soft light of the room.
He looks like mine. I swear I couldn’t love him more than I do at this moment, and yet I know I will tomorrow. I found myself lost in him, and it was the kind of lost that felt akin to being found.
Dominic pressed his lips to my forehead, and my eyelids fluttered shut at the sensation. It was a sweet, overwhelming feeling that filled me to the brim. It felt almost like drowning, as if I were submerged in a sea of maddening love, the world around us fading into a distant hum. He pulled me closer, allowing our gazes to lock, the air thick with electricity.
My cheeks flushed under his intense, adoring stare. My heart swelled within my ribcage, my eyes darting back and forth in his, soaking up the unabashed admiration reflected in them. “I like the way you look at me. It’s as if you can’t decide whether to speak to me or devour me, and I’m perfectly alright with either.”
“You are?” His voice dropped low, heavy with desire and unquenchable longing, sending shivers down my spine.
“Yes.”
My boyfriend’s lips curled into a cheeky little smirk, his fingertips slowly trailing beneath my hoodie, the warmth of his touch igniting a fire within me. My breaths hitched in my throat as I squirmed under the sensation of his wandering hand, the world outside our bubble fading into insignificance.
I was positively yearning for him, pining after him like a moth to a flame. I craved him in my veins, needed him etched into my very being. I longed for my boyfriend's electrifying touch.
My head leaned forward impulsively, my tongue darting over my bottom lip as I inched closer to his inviting, kissable lips. The space between us crackled with anticipation. Then our lips met—soft and gentle, yet imbued with a light passion that set my skin alight.
“What do you want?” His breaths were hushed, his voice barely above a whisper. “Tell me what you want, what your body craves, Vixen, let me know every desire.”
“I want you to kiss me fiercely and savagely yet sweetly as candy, your hands on my face, in my hair, around my waist—everywhere—until I lose my every breath to you." I murmured against his lips, kissing him with every word that slipped from my mouth. We were both panting, aching for one another. “Then, I want you to f+ck me. Take me to oblivion, Dominic.”
"Your wish is my command, love." Dominic crashed his lips against mine, eager and ready.
