"Kimberly gave me the herbal medicine bottle!!! It was Kimberly... Your damn sister!" He yelled.
Adeline's heel stopped midair, and it's like her leg went frozen cos she stopped moving too, and her eyes went so wide that they almost fell off their darn sockets.
"Wh...what did you just...spew?" Her voice was shaking as she asked the question, bringing her leg down finally.
Corey struggled to sit up on the ground, then he dragged himself to the wall with his butt.
He rested his back on the wall, his face unrecognizable as he smiled sadly, taking a glance at Adeline.
"Start talking, now!!! Kimberly did what? Are you trying to frame her now? Now that your game is up you wanna find a shortcut? I am not a damn fool Corey! I fell for your lies once but it won't happen again!" She spat.
"I wouldn't risk my life to call you out here just to lie to you. I'm wanted by the organization and if I'm caught right now, I'll be killed on sight, so calm down, and listen to me" he replied, grunting as he spoke.
Adeline held her breaths as he shifted his posture on the wall, and then he started...
"You must have found out I was sent by The Pakhan to assassinate your family. For every mission I went, I was given a solid reason to kill, but for your parents, The Pakhan didn't give me any reason, which was the beginning of the weirdness. He's the only one who knows the reason, but I let it go and decided to get the job done anyways" he said.
Adeline sucked in a breath, her wig scattered all-over her face as a result of the beatings she did.
"I got the pictures of the whole family, including you and your sister. The plan was to enter you and make you fall for me, then kill your parents through you, but I swear to gawd, the plan changed the first day I set my eyes on you at the bungee tower. Ade you're so f+çking beautiful, and that kiss...the kiss i shared with you was my first kiss...it...
"Straight to the point, or I'll spill your blood again!" She snarled, pointing her gun at him.
"You fell for me so easily, and trust me I fell for you too. My feelings are real, which is why i begged The Pakhan to spare your parents, but he was so adamant about assassinating them. I couldn't bring myself to kill the parents of the girl I love, so I planned to risk my life and tell you everything on your parents birthday." He groaned, holding his tummy tighter.
"And then...." He said.
FLASHBACK, YEARS AGO IN COLORADO~COREY'S PLACE*
Unable to bring himself to tell them in person, Corey decided to write a letter.
He just finished wrapping the gift cake he was supposed to give Adeline's parents, and he folded the letter, inserting it into the cake.
When they cut it, they'd see it and read it, and they'd escape from Colorado.
He was about to leave the house when his phone rang.
It's Erik calling.
"Hello, boss" he picked hesitantly.
"You're taking too long, and this is so unlike you, Corey. It's been two months in Colorado! Two long months! Are the Wilson couple that hard to eliminate?" Erik's voice came.
"I'm doing the job today, I promise" Corey said under his breath.
"Make it quick, and return to Russia tomorrow... unfailingly" Erik ordered.
"Yes, boss" Corey replied and hung up.
He has no plans to go back to Russia anyways. Once he delivers the cake, he'd escape to somewhere like India or Morocco to start a new life away from Erik.
He carried the cake and stepped out of the house, but he was surprised to meet Kimberly in front of the house, waiting with a wrapped bottle.
"Hey Kimmy! Is the party on already?" He cheerfully said.
"Kinda, but I can to give you this" Kimberly replied, handing him the bottle.
"What's this?"
"Adeline actually loves people who care a lot about her parents. It's herbal medicine, and watch as she brightens up when you give him this to gift to our parents" Kimberly smiled.
"For real? Thanks!" Corey hugged her happily.
"It's my pleasure, and I'll see you at the party. Need to go get confetti at the store" she waved, and Corey replied with a nod as she left.
BACK TO THE PRESENT*
"I handed you the bottle without confirming, and that was the dumbest thing I've ever done all my life" Corey muttered, and Adeline staggered.
"Kimberly did it because she saw your parents will. All their investments were willed to your name, and she couldn't take it. Actually, she was...
"She was adopted. Kimberly is my...is my adopted sister" Adeline muttered, feeling breathless and running insane on a spot.
"You knew of the adoption?" Corey said shockingly, and when Adeline tried talking again, she felt her chest constricting.
She felt like throwing up, and she quickly rushed to the cemented rails, resting on it before attempting to vomit, but nothing came out.
She only retched, coughing slightly as tears came out of her eyes.
Now everything has started making sense.
The injections she took in Colorado to stop her menses... Kimberly was the reason it didn't work...
Cos it's fake.
Kimberly knowingly told her to come here disguised as a boy to get her killed.
That was her plan all along.
Her parents weren't enough, but she had to attempt killing her too?
This is too bitter a pill to swallow.
Adeline held the rails so very tight, her fingers shaking on them as more tears escaped her hot eyes.
The dead bodies of her parents displayed in front of her again like a dread dream, and she took a trip to the past, to that gory birthday.
FLASHBACK*
Adeline appeared at the threshold with the cake and wrapped bottle in hand, and she broke into a smile when she saw the party is ongoing already.
Corey only dropped the gifts for her with the promise that he'd join her at the party soon.
He needed to go somewhere, so she just agreed to come ahead of him.
She retrieved her phone and texted him.
Adeline: You have just ten minutes to get here. Else, you won't be getting any kiss today.
She smiled and pocketed her phone before going inside.
"Adele you're finally here!" Her mother beamed.
"Yeah... Look what your son-in-law got you" she replied, setting the cake and bottle on the table before hugging her dad.
The mute man gave her a deep forehead kiss, then Mrs. Wilson took the bottle.
"What's in it?" She shook it.
"Herbal medicine,for your backache. Isn't he so caring?" Adeline sweetly said.
"I know I have the best son-in-law. Why isn't he here yet?" Mr. Wilson signed.
"He'll meet up soon, but enjoy the party for now" Adeline replied and quickly went to the kitchen to get cups.
She unwrapped the bottle and poured the brown liquid into two cups for the two.
They took their different cups and gulped the medicine at once.
"Feels refreshing" Mrs. Wilson belched.
"Give me more" Mr. Wilson signed, and Adeline poured more for the two.
"Where's Kimberly?" She asked when she noticed she's not in the small crowd.
"Probably in her room, wearing makeup" Mrs. Wilson shrugged.
"I'll go get her before we cut the cake" Adeline said and rushed in.
She met Kimberly in front of her dressing mirror for real,.. she's wearing makeup.
"Mum was right" Adeline grinned, entering the room.
"Thank gawd you're here, help with my eye pencil" Kimberly said.
"You taught me how to wear makeup and now you're telling me to help you?" Adeline laughed.
"Don't be silly...you draw brows better than me" Kimberly chuckled, and Adeline took the pencil.
She was about to start sharpening it when they heard screams outside.
"Jesus!" Kimberly spranged up.
"Mr. Wilson!"
"Mrs. Wilson!!"
"Mr. Wilson!!!'
The screams made the two girls run out of the room, and the scene they met was beyond horrifying.
The couple are vomiting their own intestines!
The poison actually severed their intestines to pieces inside them, and they've almost vomited every organ except the heart.
Their bodies were already lying in the pool of their hit blood, surrounded by piles of their blended intestines.
The bottle of medicine was lying between them. They had drank it all.
"Mum! Dad!" Kimberly ran crazily to them.
Adeline fell on her knees, and her universe went dilapidated right in front of her, then it came crashing on her head.
"Dad!!!!!!!!! Mum!!!!!!!!!" She yelled till blood escaped her nose, and as the cops came in for her arrest, she couldn't even fight it.
She was powerless and hopeless as she was taken away, and from there, ste ended in jail.
BACK TO THE PRESENT*
Adeline left the rails and sat on the ground, shaking as grief descended on her again.
Her head is in ruins right now.
She might just run mad!
"I haven't even left Colorado before I heard the news, and I tried my best to get you out, but I had no connections in that country believe me. I found out about Kimberly's plan, and immediately she took your parents investment of 36 million dollars from the bank, I stole it from her and came back to Russia. She didn't come to Russia for revenge, Ade. She came in search of me, but unluckily for her, I was already out of the clan cos I got framed again. I could have killed her cos I had a lot of opportunities, but I wanted you to do it yourself" Corey explained.
Adeline couldn't even say anything anymore. She continued sitting, crying slowly and feeling so damn devastated.
Corey pushed himself up to his feet, then he dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a card.
He squatted in front of her and took her right hand, dropping it inside.
"Your parents money is inside the account, and I'll text you the pin. You deserve to live well, and leave the clan. You can't leave without having your memories wiped, but if you need help to leave with your memories intact, I'll help you" he said.
Adeline hiccupped, resting her head in the wall.
"Believe me, Ade. You need to leave the clan as soon as possible. The coming future war is not a joke, and blood will flow. Also, Madden is not someone you can fall for. He destroys everything he touches, and his secrets are too dark. Don't fall for the devil" he finalized and stood.
He was staggering weakly as he started walking down the pavement.
"Why did you let me beat you then? Why didn't you fight back?" Adeline spoke up.
"I deserved it" he replied, turning back.
"And you're wanted by the organization, but you're in Russia without getting caught? That only means someone powerful is protecting you" she said again.
"Maybe" he smiled.
"And why did The Pakhan order you to assassinate my parents in the first place?" She asked.
"Like I said,I don't know. Only The Pakhan himself knows, but whatever the reason is, it'll be huge" he replied.
Adeline turned her face away from him, and he rounded the corner, leaving completely.
Adeline sniffled, shutting her eyes and resting her head back on the wall.

CLAN, MAYA'S SUITE*
Andrei is still in.
After the long hug, he stayed and watched her drink the tea while staring around the room.
"Don't you feel uncomfortable with the candles everytime?" He suddenly asked, and she gently dropped her mug.
"No. They protected me from the Masked Monster" she said, and his brows crumpled.
He remembered hearing her talk about it with Madden at the cathedral too.
"Masked Monster?" He repeated.
"Yeah." She replied taking her hands away from the table.
She hid it under the table cos they're already shaking.
"The Masked Monster, she...she...
She began stuttering, so Andrei went to sit beside her, holding her two hands in his palms.
"I'm with you" he assured, making sure to hold eyes.
"The last day she visited me, I fought back with the knife, and she was shocked. She staggered and fell on one of these candles, and her right upper arm got burnt. Since then, she never visited anymore" she explained.
"So whoever is the Masked Monster will have a burn scar on her right arm?" She asked, and she nodded.
"What does she always come to do to you exactly?" He asked attentively.
"Inject me with madness serum. She did same to Madden at the basement too. After she injected us for one year, we built...
"Mayashenka" a deep male voice boomed at the door, and Maya spranged up.
"Madden!" She gasped, pulling Andrei up.
"It's not a big deal" Andrei said.
"Yeah it's not, but his head is not normal. He'd kill you if he meets you here in my room" she replied, dragging him to the closet.
"Stay here, and don't move " she said, covering him with the door.
She took a deep breath before opening the main door, and Madden's cold face came to view.
"It's been a while since you called the endearment form of my name... Mayashenka" she said.
"Engrave it in your memory" he replied freely, stepping in.
His white dress shirt is still on with the slacks, and his sleeves are rolled up, his biceps and veiny arms looking damn attractive.
"Your s+xiness is unfair" Maya suddenly blurted, and he turned back to her, his eyes darkening.
"You're not telling me how much you hate me? You're not telling me to get out? You're not with your silly knife?" He said suspiciously.
Maya inched up her face...
"Then get out now. Why are you even here?" she said, and he smirked.
"Your voice is unusually low, too" he said and began walking towards the bedroom.
"Madden you're intruding my privacy! I have various panties and bras on the bed and it's not right to see them!" She shouted, rushing after him.
"You know I'm damn obsessed with panties and bras...I'm f+çking crazy about them" he replied, entering the bathroom.
He search everywhere but found nothing, then he started going towards the bathroom, but Maya blocked him.
"Move, Mayashenka" he glared.
"You're not entering my closet" she replied, and he grabbed her arms, pushing her to the bed before dashing for the walk-in closet.
"Madden!" She spranged up, rushing after him again.
His nose caught a different scent by the door, and he pulled it forward, revealing Andrei behind it.
"Oh you're dead" he muttered, dragging him out.
Before Maya could intervene, he already punched him in the face.
Andrei staggered back, his lip bleeding.
"Madden stop!" Maya quickly covered him.
"Igor's cat in your bedroom? How silly can you be?" Madden said angrily.
"He's a friend, ok? A friend! I don't like him and he doesn't even like me! Who'd like mentally deranged people like us anyways? We're both destined to be alone forever so let him be! Don't touch him again" Maya said protectively, and Madden smirked.
"I'll destroy him with a flip of my fingers, and you know it"
"I said leave him alone! He's not what you think!" Maya defended again.
"You were at the cathedral yesterday, right? You heard our conversation" Madden said.
"I don't mean any harm, I was just curious" Andrei replied gently.
"Curious? Your Master set you to it?" Madden said, his voice frosted.
"I'm genuinely curious about Maya, and...
"The next time you come one step close to her, I'll kill you and deliver your body to Igor's doorstep" Madden interrupted, and Andrei bowed slightly.
He left the room, and Maya exhaled softly, glaring daggers at Madden.
Without another word, he left the bedroom, heading towards the main door.
"When last did you contact her?" Maya asked, coming out of the room too.
"Don't talk about her" he replied curtly, opening the door.
"I know you did it for mother's sake, but at the same time, your blood is with her and...
"And I am under no obligation to give a fûck. Wrap it up, Maya" he cut her off before exiting the room.
He strode out of the suite, and immediately he stepped outside, he received a text from Sergei.
Sergei: Kimberly Wilson is an adopted child of the Wilson family like you suspected.
Madden hardened his jaws after reading.
He actually told him to make research about the family, and now it's getting clearer to him.
Does that mean Corey didn't carry out their assassination? Did Kimberly kill the couple and send Adeline to jail just to inherit their investments?
Suddenly, he received another text, from Sergei again.
Sergei: By the way Igor is here. Obviously to convince me to join The Pakhan's side.
Madden rolled eyes disgustingly after reading it. Igor is too predictable.
He came to a slow halt when he got to the park and saw his Cherokee driving in.
All his cars...the limousine, the mustang, the Audi, and his favorite Cherokee are connected to his phone, so he's aware she took it out cos he got a signal, he only decided to let it go and make her receive the right punishment when she arrives.
Though, he sent guards to follow her secretly, but they're not back yet.
All his punishment plans went down the drain the moment Adeline came down from the car, her face and eyes sorrowfully red.
He frowned, gritting his jaws harder as she started walking to him, sniffling in successions till she arrived in front of him.
"Where the fûck did you go, Addie?" He questioned, and instead of answering, she raised her hand to his cross necklace, holding it tight.
"Can you borrow me this, please?" She muttered, her eyes brimming with unsaid sadness.
Madden squinted hard.

BASEMENT*
The spiders and the hot water did a huge mumber on Kimberly, and right now, she's a shadow of her own self already.
It's like the fire beneath the water iron never goes out cos the water hotness never went down, so the steam kept coming, hitting her endlessly in the face and aggravating her facial destructive process.
She lost her voice from screaming already, so the spiders are moving freely on every part of her body right now, even her private part.
They left uncountable marks on her body already, and they sting like hell since they're poisonous species.
Her hair is starting to fall out cos of their venom, and her eyes are losing their light.
She's at the verge of dying as she's still tied upside down, and she was already gasping for breaths when the door opened, and Adeline came in with a cup in her hand.
Kimberly couldn't even open her eyes clearly to look at her, so she didn't see.
She only heard footsteps till Adeline got to her and pulled the rope she's tied with.
Kimberly fell loose from the ceiling, landing on the ground heavily.
"Arhhhhh!!!" She gritted her teeth, struggling to look up as her wretched hair made a mess of her blue-black messy face.
Immediately she saw Adeline holding a cup of water, she stood on her knees and snatched it, gulping it all down her burning itchy throat.
The water was pouring out from all the corners of her mouth as she drank impatiently till she was done, then she threw the plastic cup on the ground, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand
"I knew you'd come for me. You're not heartless like your bastard Master" she said, looking up at her.
She still hasn't built enough strength to stand up.
Adeline's lips were shaking as she talked... "Why did you kill them?"
"What are you saying?" Kimberly replied innocently.
"Cos of the investment money? The properties? No wonder the house wa empty when I went there after I left jail. Did you sell everything?" Adeline asked again, her face free of tears.
"What are you saying!" Kimberly snapped.
"Stop pretending it's your last day!!! Why did you kill my parents!!! They were kind enough to adopt you even before they had you, but you killed them and framed me for it? I spent five years in jail bîtch!!" Adeline yelled.
"Even if I didn't kill them, Corey would have done it!" Kimberly shamelessly spat, and Adeline kicked her brutally in the face.
Kimberly fell back, her jaw cracking as she looked up at her unbelievably.
She tried to stand and go for her, but she fell back on her knees, and blood fell out of her nose.
Her eyes widened, and she began coughing.
"What did you add in the water?" She asked, holding her neck tightly.
"This one is even more potent than the one you killed my parents with. It won't grind your intestines immediately. You'll rot from the inside. All your organs will be covered by maggots within twenty four hours, and you'll smell your own rotten scent, but you won't die. After twenty four hours, then it'll start grinding your rotten organs, including your heart. You'll vomit them afterwards, and then your death will happen" Adeline said, her jaws gritted as she pronounced each word with burning eyes.
"Adechka... You can't do this!" Kimberly tried to touch her, but Adeline angrily got a cutlass lying in the corner.
She brought it down on that hand, cutting it off totally.
"Noooo!!!!!!!!!!!!" Kimberly yelled sonorously, her blood splashing on Adeline's face.
"You'll die exactly how you killed my parents, and I'll happily watch you decay till maggots will infest your whole body." Adeline muttered.
Kimberly's blood was gushing out of her nose and mouth as a result of the poison, and then the cut hand is bleeding too, so the ground is full of it right now.
One could swim in the redness.
Adeline stepped on the blood as she started going out, her eyes merciless.
"Adeline!!!!! Adeline please!!!! Adeline!!!!! Adeline!!!! Arggghhhhhhh Adeline!!!!!! Adeline!!!"
Kimberly's screams filled the night, and the spiders rushed into her mouth as she screamed.
Adeline was deaf to her cries till she stepped out, then she gasped, holding the wall to avoid falling.
She has been acting hard to avoid crying in front of Kimberly, but the moment the night air hit her skin, she couldn't fight it anymore.
She gasped again when she saw Madden waiting below the stairs.
"Madden" she whispered, her voice seemingly lost.
She let out the hit tears as she rushed down the stairs, crashing into his chest in a tearful hug.
Her tears wet his shirt immediately, and Madden looked down at her head on his chest, his eyes flickering between emotionless and something else.
He's aware that she always kept her tears at bay in front of him. She never cried in front of him, but the fact that she's doing that right now is pretty turning his head around.
He'd have loved to kill Kimberly himself, but he just had to give her the space to avenge by herself.
As she continued crying on his chest, he felt something unlock inside him, but he doesn't know what.
No fuçking idea, but it better be a good one.
Else, he'd kill it and drown it in his bloodstream.
Slowly, like an anomaly, he wrapped his arms on Adeline, possessively keeping her in his embrace.
He's hugging more than usual these days, and it's not his thing.
Hope he's not starting to get addicted to it.
"Keep it down, Addie. No tears, unless you want me to drink it" he whispered, and she hiccupped, her tears staining his shirt more.
"Can you sleep in bed with me tonight? I need it. I think I'm cold" She whispered.
"I need it more" he replied.
