KASARACHI
Kasarachi - Episode 32
(Tell it to God)
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
"How dare you pretend to be innocent after pushing my wife to the floor and constantly h!htting her head hard on the tiles such that she lost consciousness. From all indications....your intention was to k!ll her. If not for the kind neighbors that separated you from her body and rushed her to the hospital....only God knows if my wife would have d!ed at once!"
Mrs Sharon's husband blurted out angrily to my utmost shock!
It doesn't make sense to me that I Kasarachi pushed Mrs Sharon to the floor and attempted knocking her out. How...? When...? Why...? And for what exactly....?
Honestly I don't believe this story at all! There is certainly a mixup somewhere.
Mrs Sharon is the woman who gave me a life after I was almost doomed by don and exploited by Halima for her selfish interest.
I am not capable of mùrdering someone intentionally, how much more to k!ll a woman who is more like my guardian angel...? No! I can't do that to Mrs Sharon.
I have a lot to lose if I dare attempt to k?ll my helper and what would likely be my gain when it is not like I have hidden motives or grudges against her...? Nothing!
That is why I said that what Mrs Sharon's husband is saying doesn't make sense to me.
He continued talking and at the same time he was looking at me in disdain and disgust
"....My wife Sharon loved you very much and so I'm wondering why you would hurt a woman who gave you shelter, food, clothes, and everything to make your life better than how she met you...."
"....Listen to me attentively Kasarachi Arinze....you had better start praying that Sharon comes out of that vegetative condition alive or else....you will not escape my wrath!" He said conclusively and stomped out of the interrogation room.
These words said by Mrs Sharon's husband keeps echoing in my ears over and over again until I forced myself to wake up.
I was sweating profusely and my heart was pounding so fast out of fear and anxiety.
I couldn't consciously access my environment just yet, because my mind was focused on how to calm my tensed self.
I tried to lift my right hand so as to wipe the sweat that is fast tickling down towards my eyes area but I couldn't do that.
I struggled repeatedly to lift my hand up but to no avail. Ah! What could be wrong....?
I began wondering why the difficulty and that is when I became more self-conscious and alert by looking down at my hands!
It is then that I discovered I was on handcuffs and it was fastened on the seat I was sitting on. Obviously, it is what was limiting my hand from lifting up at will.
I looked around me and found out that I was in an airplane currently flying on air.
I also saw that over four Canadian officers were sitting on the seats beside me, two at my right and the other two at my left.
What! Jesus Christ! So all that befell me wasn't a dream after all....?
It is really true that I was arrested in Canada for an attempted mrder on Mrs Sharon's life. Afterwards, her husband confronted me and later promised to take the case up legally to ensure that I was severely puñished for my supposed crime.
I was made to undergo a series of intense interrogations of which I kept answering that I knew nothing about what happened.
It is true that I am innocent! I really do not know what made me feel dizzy and what happened before and after I blacked out.
I cried all the tears in my tears duct until I couldn't cry again and was sobbing instead. I was emotionally broken and for the first time in my life, I was tempted to curse God and d!e like the story of Job in the Bible.
The news of Mrs Sharon's condition which I am told is as a result of what I did to her made me think that maybe I was indeed a bad luck. Just maybe if I didn't come into her life and that of her family, none of what happened would have befallen her.
I have a strong feeling that it is w!©ked Halima that is at work again! I am very sure it is her who is orchestrating all of this.
Four months ago, Mrs Sharon had ended her friendship with Halima because of a business deal that they did together but Halima cheated her out of the proceeds.
Knowing Halima, she must have been angry that as a result of the fallout, she would no longer have access to the numerous business referrals and financial benefits she does get from Mrs Sharon.
So probably she is trying to k!ll two birds which is me and Mrs Sharon by using one stone and obviously, she is succeeding.
I believe that my God in heaven is stronger than her evil schemes and that he will surely vindicate me and put her to shame.
The date my case will be presented in court for judgement has been fixed already and so I will need God now more than ever.
That's why every midnight down to the early hours of the morning for three days, I was usually engaged in a warfare through serious prayers and worship in the prison.
I was always crying from the depths of my heart while praying and telling all my worries to God in hushed tones, so as not to disturb the other inmates who were sleeping on the prison floor.
Some of my prayers points to God were;
My Lord please deal with Halima Audu for always trying to make me a scapegoat! I pray she and her accomplices will be exposed in Jesus name, amen!
Nothing will happen to Mrs Sharon and she will wake up quickly in Jesus name, amen!
Her plans will not succeed and whoever she used to spike my drinking water to get me dizzy should be exposed and made to face his or her punishment by the law, amen!
My God I pray that you will arise and fight for me and shield me against my enemies like you usually do, amen!
You said in your word, in the book of Psalm 46:1-3 that you are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. So please rise up and fight for me at this point in time.
You also said in Isaiah 43:2-3 that when I pass through the waters, you will be with me; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow me.
In the book of Psalm 34:17-18, you said that the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.
In 2 Chronicles 14:11, it is written that Lord, there is none besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength.
Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; lift Yourself up against the rage of my enemies according to your words in Psalm 7:6 (also in 3:7).
It is written in your word in Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Oh Father, please hearken onto my cries and do not fail me now for I can't do this alone anymore.
I need you Oh my Maker, so please do not forsake me now. Do not allow my enemies to laugh at my predicament or prevail over me, in Jesus mighty name I pray, amen!
At the end of the prayers, I will sing praises and thanksgiving songs to the Lord before going to sleep hoping for the best.
In a few days, I was charged to court on the charges of attempted mμrder and h0micide on my guardian Mrs Sharon Ifedi.
I was found guilty through the testimonies of the four neighbors who claimed they saw me constantly hitting her head on the floor. The four of them equally said that they were the ones who took Mrs Sharon to the hospital after getting me off her limb body.
Mr Sharon's husband hired a good lawyer who tried his best to ensure that I was sentenced to at least life imprisonment for daring to hurt his darling wife.
The chief Judge came to the conclusion that she couldn't prosecute me with any jail sentences because of these three reasons;
Firstly, I am not a citizen of Canada. Secondly, I am in my early twenties hence she feels that I am too young for the tough jail sentence the lawyer was suggesting.
Lastly, the victim Mrs Sharon is on life support hence she isn't d£ad yet and there is still a 50% chance of her eventually waking up from her vegetative state.
The chief Judge's final pronouncement and judgement on me was deportation to my country!
I want to believe it was my God at work because I would have still be sent as an Extraditee to Nigeria, so that a sentence can be ruled over me there in my country.
Ah! I don't want to start imagining what could have been my fate if I was ruled as an Extraditee to be sent to Nigeria for trial.
So I am happy that I wasn't, instead I'm being sent back to my country with a legal restriction which states that I am never allowed to come back to Canada again.
It means I am deported as a free citizen who could live a normal life when I get back to Nigeria without any jail dent on me.
Later that afternoon, I was permitted to make a phone call before I was handcuffed out of the prison, on the way to the airport.
I have Mama's phone number in my head so it was her I phoned. I informed her about what happened to me and that I will be returning to Nigeria today as a deportee.
She wailed and cried on the phone. Then she consoled me and told me that she is happy that at least I am safe and that I should come back as they've missed me.
After the phone call, I was dragged to the van packed outside and conveyed to the airport. Reaching the airport, about four officers escorted me into the plane and handcuffed me on a seat like a cr!minal!
Oh! it felt like my whole life was crumbling before my eyes and I started crying again.
I silently cried so much until I fell asleep without knowing. Now that I am awake, all the ugly memories are finding its way back.
I am feeling emotional right now because I know that I will miss Canada, the people over there, and the memories very much.
My phone and everything was seized so I am going home with nothing aside from the clothes I have on my body now.
I do not have the Canadian phone number of Mrs Sharon and her husband in my head, so there is practically no avenue in which I will be able to reach my former home in Canada if I want to do so in future.
It hurts because there's no way I will get to find out how Mrs Sharon is doing and if she had woken up from her unconscious state.
My bank account was frozen as well and I have absolutely no physical cash on me.
Ah! How I am supposed to go to the village without transportation fare after this plane lands in Nigeria, is what I do not know yet.
My mind went back to the weird dreams I had in Canada a month ago and the instruction that followed a few days after praying against them.
It is becoming obvious that the significance of those dreams is that firstly, I will be pushed out of a loving family and a house which I once called my home in Canada.
Then secondly, I am going to be pursued out of Canada which is a country I have come to love and want to permanently reside in.
I now perfectly understand why God gave me that instruction to do what I did. I admit that it was really confusing at first but it is gradually beginning to make sense to me.
I am more than a 100% sure that God made me do all those things for future purposes. And if I am to be realistic, this also means that you Lord is in agreement with me coming back to Nigeria but tell me why....?
My frustrations were getting the better part of me such that I started talking to God in my heart.
Sincerely, all of my words were being said out of the anger that was boiling inside of me but at this juncture I didn't care!
I was just talking and venting onto my God who hears all of our inner cries, sees our pain, knows our worries, and hears all of the hidden words we cannot say out loud...
Why are you doing this to me oh God my Father....? I thought you said you loved me but now I don't understand you anymore!
God why would you want me to be shamefully deported from Canada back to a country which I left behind....? Lord aren't you tired of frustrating my life already!
I am also wondering why you didn't instruct me to transfer money to a Nigerian bank account in preparation for today....?
How would I transport myself to the village today and how will I survive afterwards...?
Or did you not know that I would be broke, stranded, and in need of money when I eventually land in Nigeria after my deportation....?
O yes! the instruction God gave me to carry out had nothing to do with money issues. It was an entirely different thing
I don't understand anymore, I wish I do.
