~ Genevieve ~
A slow, drawn-out hum escaped my lips as my eyes roamed over the clothes I was putting on.
It was one of Dominic's hoodies, which I most certainly did not steal. This particular hoodie was a deep shade of blue and just a tad oversized on me, which was precisely how I liked it. And guess what?
It still carries his scent. I know, I know, I’m a fortunate girl, aren’t I? His aroma has yet to fade, and even if it does, I’ll simply take—not steà l—another one from his wardrobe. No bother at all.
Anticipation and excitement danced within me as I perched on my bed, waiting for his arrival. He sent me a text after I returned from school around five, mentioning that he might be a tad late, and we’ve yet to have a proper chat.
We hadn’t seen each other in two days. Those long, paiñfully torturóus days without gazing into his eyes, or kissing his soft lips, or tasting that minty, addictive flavour on his tongue, or feeling those little brushes of his fingers against my skin. You know, I don’t think he’s aware that he does that most of the time.
It’s rather amusing, isn’t it?
The Dominic I first met wasn’t fond of being disturbed while he worked. However, over the past couple of months, despite my refusal to listen and my insistence on staying by his side against his wishes, his less occupied hand seems to find its way to me. Sometimes he plays with my fingers, while at other times, he simply holds my hand in his.
Now, that is all I crave—his touch. His lips on mine. His gaze fixed on me. I felt incomplete without him here, as though a significant part of myself had been taken away.
It’s clear from his voice that he misses me just as much as I miss him. I can’t help but wonder just how much he longs for me. Is it...
A knock on my window jolted me from my thoughts. I eagerly jumped off the bed, hurried the short distance to the window, and flung the curtains open. My eyes immediately met those golden-brown ones I so adore before roaming over the face of the person I love with all my heart.
Dominic.
With a grin plastered on my face, I opened the window to let him in. Once inside, he towered over me as per usual. I gazed up at him, taking a moment to drink him in as he seemed to do the same before I leapt into his arms.
His strong arms encircled my waist, and my legs wrapped around his waist as I clung to him like a koala. But he didn’t mind; in fact, he peppered kisses on my shoulder, which was covered by fabric.
“I missed you.”
We both uttered at the same time, and I was the one who pulled away to stare at him. I was certain my eyes betrayed far too many emotions at that moment, but I couldn’t care less. All I wanted was for him to hold me close as I got lost in his intense gaze, and I had that.
“Yeah? How much?” I asked, sliding my legs down from his waist to stand on my own.
Dominic’s arms remained around my waist, and he seized the opportunity to pull me flush against him. I cocked my head to the side, waiting impatiently for his answer. He noticed and smirked. “Very much.”
“But you had your peace and quiet. Didn’t enjoy that?”
“No, I quite like your disturbance.”
I playfully smacked his chest, earning a chuckle from him. He was still grinning brightly when he slid his palm to the back of my neck, leaning in for his lips to meet mine. Dominic kissed me as though he were starved for it; his tongue brushed against mine, and I pulled away just to tease him.
As I expected, he groaned and pouted like a child denied his Halloween sweets. I shrugged casually, stroking my thumb against his chest. “What? Why are you pouting? You don’t get to kiss me after calling me a disturbance.”
“My disturbance,” he hastily corrected. His grip tightened around me as he placed a lingering kiss on my forehead, murmuring with his lips still pressed there, “God, I missed you so much, Vixen.”
I blinked as tears stung my eyes at his heartfelt admission. It wasn’t just the words; it was the way he said it, as if he were gasping for air without me.
When his gaze returned to my face, he immediately noticed my watery eyes, caressing my cheek and kissing away the teardrop resting there. “Do you know how breathtakingly beautiful you are?”
My usual reply would have been a sharp "yes," but not today. Not now, at least.
Keeping my eyes locked on his, I shook my head. “Do you mind telling me?”
A chuckle escaped him. “You really don't know?” His question came in a whisper.
I shook my head again and whispered back, “No. Please, do tell me.”
Dominic tilted his head forward, his lips brushing against my temple. His voice deepened, “You, Genevieve King, are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on.” He paused, then continued after placing a kiss in the crook of my neck, “You walk around with those dazzling, captivating, and intoxicatingly ocean-blue eyes of yours, and outfits that make it seem like you’ve stepped right out of a dark academia era. And those boots of yours? They look as if they were made especially for you. I haven’t even mentioned how perfectly your hair blends with your skin. It falls gracefully over your back like a waterfall, and when you tie it up, it still looks just as flawless.”
Is it possible to fall more in love with him?
Yes. The answer is yes.
His gaze ping-ponged with mine, as if in desperate search for something. I suppose he found it because his lips lifted into a smile. “So, now you know just how incredibly beautiful you are, don’t you?”
“If only you’d keep reminding me.” I replied, letting my lips crash onto his. “You don’t have a problem with constantly reminding me, do you?”
“Not at all, Vixen, not at all.” Then he brought our lips together again, kissing me as if he couldn’t bear to be apart. “Your parents aren’t home, are they?”
“Why’s that?”
“Because a rÃval in business is in their daughter’s room, wanting nothing but to devóur her.”
“That sounds like a brilliant idea.”
“Not if your parents are home, Vixen.”
I hummed as if I understood, then in the next second, I pushed him onto the bed and slowly straddled his lap. “I love it when you call me Vixen.”
He chuckled. “Yeah? Why’s that?”
“Because it’s your nickname for me.” I replied. “No one else calls me that, except you.”
“And if anyone else tries to call you that, I’ll slÃt their throats.”
“You’ll slÃt Dex’s throat?”
“Dexter. His name is Dexter.” Dominic corrected, just as he did every other day, which made me grin. “And when did he call you that?”
“We were talking about you.”
“Yeah? What about?”
“Can’t tell you.”
“Why not?”
“Because it doesn’t concern you.”
“You two were talking about me, and it doesn’t concern me?”
“Exactly, Dominic.”
Dominic frowned, his hands still wrapped around me as he pouted. My gaze dropped to his lips and back to his eyes, a big smile plastered on my face. “Do you know how adorable you are when you pout? It’s the cutest thing ever.” His sad pout wavered into something that resembled a smile, but it disappeared as quickly as it came, reverting back to a pout. I giggled at his playful childishness and continued, “Your eyes get all bright and shiny, and it’s just the most beautiful sight apart from your face. And, well, me in the mirror.”
That cracked him up.
I brought out my palms to gently cradle his gorgeous face, but he denied me the view of his dazzling eyes by letting his lids fall. The words I desperately wanted to say were just at the tip of my tongue, but I said something else instead. “Would you like to hear what happened in school today?”
“Yeah, please do tell me.”
My attempt to leave his lap proved fruitless when he tightened his grip and shook his head in utter disapproval.
“Talk.” His single word, while he held me captive in his piercing gaze, was enough to completely scramble my brain, and I bet it did.
Anyway, I narrated the whole story from beginning to end, not missing the part where he looked like he might kÃll someone when I mentioned the slap. Fortunately, he said nothing and let me continue. When I finished telling the story, he was the one to cradle my face, which I shamelessly leaned into.
“You’re going to let me kÃll that girl?”
“No.”
“Why not?” He was furious. “She húrt you.”
I couldn’t explain how happy that made me—that he would kÃll someone for húrting me.
That’s a sign of love, isn’t it?
I’m not overthinking, am I?
“What she did is small compared to what I’ll do to her. She’ll húrt a whole lot more without needing to dÃe.”
“What do you have in mind?”
A smirk danced across my face in a maniacal way that sent a thrill down my spine. “Leave that to me.”
“I’m a bà d influence on you, aren’t I?” I nodded gingerly. “But I can’t deny it, I like you like this.”
“You don’t like me as I was before?”
“What? Of course not. It’s quite difficult not to like you. And by the way, you’ve always been like this. You simply don’t need me or anyone else to be yourself, and that’s what I truly admire about you, Genevieve King.”
“I admire every single thing about you, Dominic Morozov.” I told him as my fingers slipped into the depths of his thick, dark hair. “I adore your eyes; they’re so striking, just the exact shade of whiskey on ice. I love your hair when you don’t style it whenever you’re with me, and I also like it when it’s styled— I know, it’s complicated. I love the way you look at me, and I love the way you hold me...”
I love you.
“I love the way you look at me too. Don’t you dare look at another man like that.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it. But if I do, what will you do?”
I craved his impending psychótic reply that I knew was coming. I even inched closer, as if that would allow me to hear him better.
Dominic trailed his lips softly across my cheek to my neck, then replied. “First of all, I’ll lock you up in my room for being a brà t.”
“And then?”
Tilting my head to the side, I granted him more access to feast on my neck. The cold tip of his tongue tickled the crook of my neck as he traced it in a not-so-straight line, causing me to fist his clothes in sheer ecstasy.
His voice dropped low—lower than I thought possible, heavy with insatiable desire. "I’ll elimiñate whoever you directed that intoxicating gaze at, then come back to you to punÃsh you."
This was what I had been missing for those two days, and now that I had him right where I wanted him, I didn’t want to let go.
“I love your punishmeñt,” I said truthfully.
Okay, maybe not entirely truthfully, but partly. He is an absolute dévil when he punishés me, and I like it just a little bit. Just a little bit!
“You’re not going to love this one.”
“Oh really? Why’s that?”
“Because you’ll be a shuddering mess beneath me, begging and pleading for your dear release, which I won’t grant you until you’ve truly earned it.”
“Don’t threà ten me with a good time, Dom.”
Dominic pinched my jaw with his thumb and knuckle, lifting my head up. “It’ll be a good time for only me, Vixen.”
“You reckon?”
"Genevieve," he warned.
A laugh spilled from me, and while I was shaking with laughter, I nodded. “Fine, fine. I won’t do it.”
“Promise?” He sounded desperate for assurance as his eyes bounced between mine, as if searching for something elusive. A frown replaced his earlier expression when I said nothing. “I need you to promise me I’m the only man... In fact, the only person you look at like that.”
With no thoughts in my head, I opened my mouth and the words poured out. "I promise, Dominic."
“Good girl.” Then, he pecked my forehead.
“Let’s do something fun.”
I didn’t need to spell it out; Dominic understood immediately. His gaze, which had been fixed on me, narrowed slightly as he took in my expression.
“Oh? And what sort of fun did you have in mind?”
Just the thought of him holding me tighter made my heart race. “Something involving your lips on mine,” I teased, trailing my index finger slowly down his chest, relishing the way his breath hitched. “Your body on mine. Your…”
“Genevieve,” Dominic interrupted, his hand capturing my wrist, halting my playful gestures. “We can’t.”
“Why not?” I asked, a playful pout forming on my lips.
“Your parents are home,” he replied, his voice firm.
I knew he had a point, but I couldn’t resist pushing back just a bit. “And why should that stop us?”
He looked at me with that knowing expression that always made me frown, as if he knew I’d eventually relent. But why did he always have to be right?
Naturally, I had to try another approach. I let my lips quiver, letting tears gather in my eyes without actually falling. Dominic’s eyes softened instantly, though he tried to hold firm.
“Vixen, how many times have I told you not to try that trick on me? It’s not going to work.”
“You hà te me, don’t you?” I whispered, my voice a feigned wobble.
“When did I say that?”
“Just now,” I replied, biting back a smile.
Dominic sighed heavily, his usual response when he realised he was fighting a losing battle. “Fine. I give up.”
Before I could stop myself, a victorious grin spread across my face as I blurted out, “Can you stay over tonight?”
The flicker in Dominic’s expression told me his answer, even before he opened his mouth. Embarrassed, I slid off his lap, retreating a bit.
“Gen…”
“It’s fine,” I mumbled, waving it off.
“You’re upset with me,” he said softly, watching me closely.
“No, I’m not.”
“You are.”
I tried to rise from the bed, but before I could get far, Dominic’s arms pulled me back, holding me firmly in place. His amber eyes, filled with a tender admiration, met mine as he gently repositioned me beneath him.
And I let him.
“I am sorry,” he murmured.
“Stay over.”
There was such a conflÃct in his gaze. All I did was wait, still as anything, for his final answer—one that would set the tone for my entire night. He sighed. “I can’t say no to you when you look at me like that.”
“Then don’t.”
“Only until you fall asleep?”
“And who told you I’ll fall asleep with you here?”
“That’s exactly why I ought to go; you’ve got school in the morning.” My face sank further into a pit of sadness. That seemed to do the trick. “Alright, alright, I’ll stay over, just for tonight. Now, can you please smile for me? You know I can’t bear to see you like this.”
“You caused it.”
“And this is me apologising. I am sorry, Genevieve.”
Dominic’s hands settled on my hips, and I instinctively draped my legs over his. His mouth found mine, and for a few blissful moments, we were in perfect harmony. Our bodies moved together, expressing every unspoken word between us.
In moments like this, there’s a rare magic, a beautiful synchronicity where we wanted each other equally, both aware of the risks but choosing to live in the moment.
I ran my fingers along the nape of his neck, feeling his warmth. All I’d wanted was this kiss, but now, I was insatiable, craving his touch with an intensity that left me breathless.
Dominic broke away, his forehead resting against mine as he caught his breath. Our eyes met again, and he gave me a look that spoke volumes.
He always tells me how much he loves my eyes, but little does he know that I adore his—the golden brown that seems so intense, yet softens just for me.
