Today is the day.
The day I finally get what I desperately need.
Revénge.
No, don't worry, it's not against Genevieve.
As I descended from the steps of my jet, I scanned my surroundings, taking in the unfamiliar country. Being in a new place isn't always comforting, especially when it's uncharted territory—dangérous and unpredictable.
Just my kind of thrill, but that doesn't mean I should be reckless. Like I've said before, I'm not interested in meeting my maker just yet.
"You ready?" Dexter asked, and I didn't need to look to know he was right beside me. I nodded, determination and fúry simmering within me. "God, I’m so pumped for this."
Finally, I turned to face him, a smile breaking across my lips. Seeing him like this was always an interesting sight; he truly looked like he belonged to the underworld now.
"Glad to hear that," I replied.
We stepped out of our cars in front of the unusually large gate.
By "we," I meant my men and me.
With each passing second, my eagerness to get my hands on him intensified. Anticipation swirled in my mind as I conjured thoughts of how I would deal with him.
The monstér within me stirred, restless in its cage, yearning to break free. And being the gentleman I am, I wouldn't keep something locked against its will.
One of my men placed a detoñator on the massive gate, which had to be destroyéd for me to enter. I refused to be the kind of person who knocked for permission.
My fists clenched and unclenched with anticipation, a maniacal smirk creeping onto my lips as my heart raced with psychótic energy at the potential for dà nger.
Have I mentioned how much I love dà nger?
It's always exhilarating; I can't explain why.
After a five-second countdown, the detonator blew the gate open, sending dust swirling into the air.
It was a silent explósion, but the sound of the gate crashing to the ground quickly alerted everyone who needed to be on guard.
With another smirk, I glanced at Dexter, who was also watching intently.
"Let's do this."
Have I mentioned how much I love this side of him?
It genuinely pleased me, but I didn't have time to dwell on that. I needed to elimiñate someone—and quickly.
Okay, maybe not too quickly.
What? I like to see the life slip from my beloved victÃm’s eyes. It's not my fault.
Before we even entered, bulléts began to fly from every direction. Fortunately, we were the prepared attackérs, wearing bulletproof vests while they weren’t so lucky; it only took one bullét to bring down one of them.
My men were clearly on the winning side. The only damà ge the amateur Brazilian thúgs managed to inflict was a few grazes on my men.
I was after one person—the Dón. He was the only Don fóolish enough to send an imbécile to kÃll me.
That was a grave mistà ke that needed urgent correction. And because I’m one of a kind, I decided to confront him one-on-one; you know, to grace him with my phenomenal presence.
I know, I’m just too kind—you don’t have to tell me.
And because cowardÃce runs in his veins, he was fleeing when I entered his room. I have to admit, this was much easier than I’d expected.
Yes, I used almost all my bulléts to finish off the guards in the hallway, but I anticipated a challenge; this was not it. Oh well, I suppose I’ll just have to make do with this for now.
"Hey, lovely to meet you," I said, flashing a wide smile as I relished the way he trembled at my presence. "You cold?"
Not that I cared.
"How did you get in?" he stammered, failing to conceal his féar.
In case you didn't get it, I'm his predà tor. Yours truly.
"I walked."
His trembling hand struggled to grip his guñ, but he was too old and fóolish to manage it.
I couldn't fathom why he hatéd me. Sure, I kicked him out of the position of the most feà red mafÃa Dón as soon as I stepped in after my uncle Ivan, but beyond that, I had no clue what warranted his hà tred.
It’s not like I liked him or wanted his affection; I simply wanted to be left alone. Unfortunately, people like him refuse to accept their old age and insist on pestering me. Seriously, what did I do?
A maniacal laugh escaped my lips at my own thoughts. It’s amusing how my mind tries to paint me as innocent when I know I’m anything but.
"Are you going to use that, or do you need lessons?" I inquired, taking a seat on one of the single chairs in the room. "Come on, take your time. There's absolutely no rush."
I missed this. It had been weeks since I last indulged in this—torturiñg someone while embracing the darkér side of my nature. My fingers itched to finÃsh him off, but I also wanted to savor this moment a little longer.
"But I have something to tell you," I added, feigning the nervousness of a child. "You know that girl you just had séx with? She may or may not have taken the bulléts out of your gún." His face paled, and my joy heightened. "I know, I know, my bà d."
Then he did something that made a satisfied hum escape my lips as my eyes pierced into his. He fell to his knees, begging me to spare his life.
I laughed again, shaking my head because it was just too funny not to. "Gosh, you crack me up."
"P-p-please..."
I rose to my feet and strolled over to him. When I reached him, I leaned down to his eye level. "Don't beg. I love it when victÃms plead, but yours is different. You tried to kÃll me. Thankfully, I'm not as stúpid as you." I heaved a sigh. "In your next life—if you are granted one, or if it exists—make sure you send a qualified and trained imbécile instead of a limp dÃck, okay?"
He didn't move. I tilted my head, narrowing my brows at him, and repeated, "Okay?"
The dumb Don finally caught on and nodded. "Y-yes."
"Good." I uttered. "You see, I only have one bullét and one knÃfe, so it's your pick." Another fit of maniacal laughter broke from me. "Okay, that was a lÃe; it's not your pick. I don't know why I said that."
"Let's talk it out." He wasn't stuttering anymore, but his féar was palpable. "How much do you want? I'll give you everything; please don't kÃll me."
"How about two hundred trillion dollars? Can you manage that?" He couldn't, so he didn't respond. "Well, let me get down to business."
This would have been much more entertaining if he had been younger—like my age. But he was an old man who would crumble with just one punch from me.
Sounds of commótion could still be heard from outside as I inflicted a few injúries with my knÃfe because, well, that’s just who I am.
And yes, I got a new knÃfe after Genevieve took mine. His screams were music to my ears, so I inflicted more injúries on him.
The ringing of my phone instantly brought a frown to my face, and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. With my other hand, I pulled out the ringing phone, and as soon as my eyes landed on the screen, my frown turned upside down.
Genevieve.
I tapped the green icon to pick up, but before I pressed the phone to my ear, I jabbed the knÃfe into his arm. "Here, help me hold this."
Genevieve's voice filled my ear as soon as I placed the phone there. "Hey. I've finally decided on the country I'd love to visit."
"And where is that?" I asked, keeping my eyes on the idÃot on the ground.
"The Maldives. So, what do you think about that?" She sounded happy, and it made me happy too. "Is it good?"
"Nothing you say or do will ever not be good." I told her, smiling as she laughed.
"Yeah?" She asked, sounding like she didn’t believe me. I was about to respond when she cut in. "Wait. Is that a cat I heard?"
Knowing exactly what she was talking about, I replied, "No. It's an animal."
More like a béast.
"I don't want to rain on your parade, but cats are animals."
I laughed. "I know that. But this one is way worse than a cat, Vixen."
"Oh my God. Are you doing mà fia-related stuff?"
Genevieve has always been a little quirky when it comes to this things, so her excitement about this didn't surprise me.
"Yes."
"Oh, that's so cool."
You can say that again.
"I know."
"Is that why you weren't available today?" she asked.
"Yeah, I had to deal with him."
Her curiosity got the best of her, and she inquired about the obvious. "What did he do?"
The question should be, what didn't he do?
However, I hummed softly, "Something very stúpid."
Her voice dropped as she asked again, "Is he responsible for the night we met?"
What doesn’t this girl know?
With a sigh, I replied, "Unfortunately, yes."
"He’s the one who druggéd you?"
Once more, Genevieve King surprised me with her sharp intelligence. The surprises never seemed to end when she was involved.
She was wise beyond her years.
"Yeah, how did you know I was druggéd?"
Though she wasn’t close by, I could almost picture her shrugging. "I just figured it out. When will you be back?"
"Tomorrow."
"Okay, see you then."

I dealt with him, and I relished every moment of it. But I wasn’t prepared for my mood to plummet when I touched down in England and saw a text from Genevieve.
Vixen ≈ I won’t be able to come over today. My parents are home.
Just what I needed.
That was sarcasm, of course.
I wanted to see Genevieve. She’d been on my mind since yesterday, and now I couldn’t even see her.
Her beautiful face, those stunning ocean-blue eyes, and her captivating strawberry-blonde hair. Genevieve King drove me mà d with desire, and she was well aware of it.
Just as I was grappling with my annoyance about her not being able to come over today, another text from her buzzed my phone.
Vixen ≈ You should rest. You must be exhausted after your little trip. Dream of me tonight?
F+ck!
