KASARACHI

Kasarachi - Episode 14

(Tell it to God)

★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

"Who are you...? And why did you touch me like that...?" I asked upon turning to see the strange face behind me.

What made it dreadful is that it is a young lady I saw.
She's fair in complexion, beautiful, slim, and slightly taller than Aunty Tochi.

"My name is Brenda, I am a co-occupant of this house. Sorry I couldn't resist touching your booty. You're so thick and juicy just as I like them" Brenda said sucking on her tongue and smiling widely

I wonder what was funny that is making her smile after the annoying thing she did.

I don't care if she is a co-occupant or the actual owner, what was annoying to me is that she touched me inappropriately so I had to express my displeasure openly

"Are you sure you are mentally sound Aunty Brenda...? Touching me on my bumbum and breasts is inappropriate. Seems you haven't realized that I am a female as you are...just maybe you are having poor eyesight" I said in a bid to annoy her verbally

"I know baby girl. You are Fiona's village sister that her sister told us would be coming in today. I didn't know you were going to be this beautiful and succulent. Welcome to Lagos my love. What is your name...? I hope it's as beautiful as you are...?" Brenda asked smiling without a care in the world

My face tightened in a frown seeing that she wasn't in any way remorseful.
Instead she was just smiling and looking at me, probably waiting for an answer to her annoying question.

Thankfully Aunty Tochi came in at that point in time, else I could have answered her in such a saucy way that she wouldn't want to talk to me again.

"Let her be Brenda. For Christ sake, Kasarachi just got here so give her a breathing space please. Or haven't you seen she is very tired and hungry from the journey...?" Aunty Tochi asked looking at Brenda, while dropping the plate of covered food she carried on the center table.

"Oh, her name is Kasarachi. That's what I was asking her but she was acting like it is such a big deal. I thought you said she is sixteen years old so why is she behaving like it's a crime to touch her butts...? But Fiona this girl is very beautiful and busty oh" Brenda said flippantly

Without warning she slapped my bumbum lightly for the second time today.

I was so angry and I'm sure that if my eyes could send out daggers, then mine would surely do so with the way I was looking at her.

She was still smiling and winked at me before going into the part of the house which I assume is the bedroom.

Everything she did right now got me so disgusted. Sincerely, this is the first time I am seeing a woman speak and behave that way towards the same gender.

At first I expected to see a man when I turned behind me, but seeing a woman...? God! I least expected it honestly.

I have a whole lot of questions on my mind and I know it's only Aunty Tochi that can offer me the clarity I need regarding Brenda

So I asked her calmly after Brenda went inside

"Aunty Tochi I don't understand what just happened. First of all, who is that lady...? Secondly, why was she talking and behaving that way towards me...? Is she having a bad eyesight not to have seen that I am a female just like her...?" I asked irritably

"Don't mind her Kasarachi. My friend can be so playful and I think she really likes you. Forget what she did okay...?" Aunty Tochi said soothingly and her choice of words calmed my mind

I exhaled and nodded my head in the affirmative before sitting on one of the sofas.

Aunty Tochi drew the center table closer to me and opened the covered plate to reveal the food

The outlook and nice aroma from the Jellof rice filled my nostrils. I didn't realize when I smiled before saying to Aunty Tochi with a grateful heart

"Thank you very much for the meal Aunty. But please tell your roommate or friend not to play such games with me again. I didn't find it funny at all" I said still feeling displeased by what Brenda did and I'm sure my facial expression actually showed it

The tone Aunty Tochi used in replying to me wasn't so pleasant and it was also more like a stern advice than a response

"It's okay Kasarachi. I have heard you. Finish eating first and rest before you start with all these instructions. Need I remind you that you are in the city right now and not in the village anymore. Your mum isn't here to protect you so I'd advise that you grow up and try to adjust in this one man city!" Aunty Tochi said as a matter of fact.

I simply nodded my head without giving a response as I didn't want to say what will annoy her.

I took the spoon from the table she kept it and began eating my food in silence.

"Aunty please how many people stay here besides you and Aunty Brenda....?" I asked gently as I wouldn't want to be taken by surprise when I see someone new

"It's only Brenda and I plus you that will be staying here. I have a friend named Flora who comes here occasionally to visit and sometimes she spends weekends with us"

"Oh okay Aunty. I have another question. Please where will I be sleeping...?"

"Kasarachi there are two beds in the bedroom. One is for me while the other one is for Brenda. You will be sleeping in mine...I believe it's large enough for both of us compared to Brenda's own"

"Okay Aunty Tochi...thank you very much for the meal and accommodation. I want you to know that I appreciate everything and will not take this for granted" I said dismissively and continued eating my food quietly.

After I was done eating, I carried the plates to the kitchen and washed it clean.

I returned to the sitting room only to find out that Aunty Tochi isn't there anymore. I wonder where she went to.

I went to the bedroom and I was impressed by how organized it was.

Just as Aunty Tochi said, there are two beds in the bedroom. Both were laid opposite to each other and neatly dressed.

There was a wardrobe that contained clothes and shoes. Flashy lights illuminated the room with a beautiful rugged carpet laid on the floor.

Aunty Brenda was lying on one of the beds, the smaller one and she was sleeping soundly. I was careful not to wake her up as I gently closed the door back.

I dropped my bag and began unpacking my things. I placed them on the part of the wardrobe I found to be empty.

After I was done with arranging my things, I went to the bathroom that was situated in the bedroom. There I had my bath and changed clothes before coming back into the room.

I gently climbed the bed and as soon as my back touched the bed I slept off due to excessive tiredness.

A tap woke me up and that's when I discovered it was early in the morning already, barely 7am.

It was Aunty Tochi who was telling me to wake up and to quickly get dressed so that we would go to the market together.

I looked sideways and saw that Aunty Brenda wasn't on her side of the bed which means she has woken up.

I yawned as I got up from bed and quickly dressed up as instructed.

After eating the pap with fried plantain made by Brenda for breakfast, I followed Aunty Tochi to the market.

All my mind I thought we were actually going there to buy foodstuffs for the house. Not knowing that it was her fruit stand of yesterday.

Aunty Tochi entered one lady's shop to pick her basket containing fruits, that was a few minutes before we reached her table.

I was bewildered and had to ask puzzling questions to gain clarification on all that is going on as I wasn't understanding anything at all.

What Aunty Tochi gave as responses shocked me very much because it was contrary to everything I had been told and anticipated before coming to the city.

"Aunty Tochi please what are we doing here...? Aren't we supposed to be at your hotel where I am to be employed as an assistant...?" I asked feeling confused

Aunty Tochi who was trying to unpack the fruits from the basket onto the table bursted out laughing hysterically.

"You are being delusional Kasarachi. Did your late father build a hotel in this city that you will come and work...? See this girl oh!" Aunty Tochi said harshly and it sort of got me emotional remembering my late father

"Did you really have to bring my late father into this discussion...? I was only asking based on what I was told in the village that you work in a hotel and needed an assistant" I answered with my voice breaking due to intense emotions. God knows that I was practically controlling myself not to cry.

"My friend shut up and come here. Let me start now to tell you that there's no hotel anywhere. I only told that lie to my sister so her mind will be at rest. What I need is someone to assist me in selling these fruits while I attend to my other engagements" Aunty Tochi said rudely without any consideration for my feelings

I swallowed the saliva stuck in my throat and nodded to indicate that I understood all that she said to me.

I came to where she was standing to take over from her. She went on to tell me the prices of each of those fruits on the table.

All of a sudden, Aunty Tochi stopped talking and leaped from where she was standing with me to another direction

What I heard next were the sounds of shattering glasses.

There were also loud wailings from someone whom I couldn't recognize, not until I had to look more closely.

My mouth opened on its own but couldn't close back due to the horrific sight!

It was gory as bløød mixed with broken glasses were splashed everywhere on the bare ground.

Everyone was just minding their business and it got me wondering how self-centered and cold-hearted humans can be.

The helpless victim was trying so hard to avoid further hits from the abuser.

Somehow I was scared and I was praying in my heart that it will not turn into something worse than beatings with the way it was going.

The unexpected happened at the instance, my worst fear came to pass...
