Present
I heaved a sigh of relief as I switched off the devil banter and head to Martha’s room.
” f--k me ” I exclaimed as I met the door opened and Tabitha was missing outta the people inside the room.
I hastily head to the sitting room but she wasn’t there .
I checked the study room, my room and she wasn’t there.
” could she have escaped through the staircase ” I asked myself with a troubled heart thinking how my mission was going to fail if such happens.
Recording a failed mission was a record I’ve been working hard in every of my mission not to have.
I was swiftly heading to my room to get some important things I got in it and escape the castle when I suddenly heard some movement in the kitchen which was just a few meters from my room.
With an hopeful heart, I tiptoed, with my back on the wall ,I ambled down to the kitchen.
I peeped through the little space made by the kitchen door as a result of not closing it well.
I didn’t see anyone, but after trying a bit hard, I saw her hair, she was hiding behind a cabinet inside the kitchen.
” I mean no harm ” I said as I entered into the kitchen.
She was shivering with a knife in her hand as she stood up slowly from where she hid herself.
A knife was in her hand pointed at me, but she had the look like she didn’t know how and why she’s holding the knife.
She looked terrified.
I tried to move closer to her after saying some words to pacify and calm her down.
” don’t come closer ” she said weaving the knife around like a novice.
” I won’t harm you ” I said with a cool tone as I moved more closer to her.
When I got closer to her, I quickly hit the knife away from her hand and hug her.
” please don’t kill me ” she said sobbing.
” trust me, that ain’t happen ” I said as I escorted her out of the kitchen.
” are they still alive ” she asked as we got to the sitting room.
” yes ” I replied her.
” are you planning on killing them ” she asked still shivering a bit as she sat down.
” nope, I’m going to wipe their memory and I think I’m going to need your help ” I told her procuring a shocked stare from her.
” me ” she exclaimed.
” yeah, I need some materials in order to be able to wipe their memories but I don’t think I can get hold of it without your help.
” the names ” she asked like someone who’s given up to fate.
” #*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#****#*#*#*#*# { can’t disclose the materials so that you won’t use it negatively or accidentally shut someone’s memory with it *winks* } ”
” we have all that on this floor but are you also going to wipe mine too ” she asked with a sad countenance.
” I’m afraid yeah, I can’t take chances ” I replied her with a tone that conveyed that I’m not happy to do it .
” please don’t do it, as long as you promise me that Gina is not in any form of harm, I promise not to disclose your secret to anyone ” she pleaded to me like that aspect of her memory is important to her.
” and how do you know that I’m going to fulfill my promise and not harm her ” I asked her curiously.
” because I know deep down that you love her tho you’re trying to avoid it ” she said surprising me.
” me, that’s hilarious, I don’t love her ” I said with a ridiculous stare.
” you do ” she said smiling.
” no I don’t, I just like her ” I said surprising myself because I didn’t know where that came from.
” I know you do ” she said excitedly.
” I don’t but I won’t harm her, so please let get to work ” I said standing up.
” so that means you’re not going to wipe my memory ” she asked with an anxious tone.
” let go ” I said not answering her question.
” we’ve come to the end of today’s lecture, if you got any question, send it to my Gmail, I’m going to answer it for you there so as to save our time here ” I said rounding up my teaching.
” you’re always the best, lecturer Ben ” I heard behind me as I tried to exit the lecture room.
I knew it was Aminat, I recognized her voice.
” and you’re also the best ” I said turning back.
” looks like you’re not going to the David castle today ” she asked as we ambled out of the lecture room.
” lecturer Ben ” a female called behind us.
I turned to look back.
” good afternoon ” I greeted as I turned to look at her.
” yeah ” she replied glaring ridiculously at Aminat who also returned the glare at once.
” what can I do for you love ” I asked feigning not to notice what was transpiring between the two of them .
” I sent a message to your gmail but you didn’t reply it when you’re the one who asked us to send our questions to your Gmail and you promised to answer it all ” she said almost in a rude manner.
” thinks I’m going to report you to the school authority and get you dismissed ” she swiftly added in a threatening tone.
” you can… ”
” it’s okay ” I swiftly said interrupting Aminat who was about to reply her.
” what’s your name ” I asked her with a cool tone.
” Chator Peace ” she replied in a sophisticated manner.
” and what was the question you asked me ” I asked her keeping on my gentleman suit.
” if you’ll love to hangout with me ” she replied me with a bossy tone.
” oops, I saw it but thought it was wrongly sent to my inbox because I remembered that I said ” ask questions which you don’t understand ” on the day’s teaching but here’s my answer ” I said pausing for a bit and I saw the anxiety in Aminat’s eye instead of Peace own.
” Nope, I won’t love to hang out with you ” I replied her bluntly.
Just then some girls passed beside us.
” Chai, Peace have finally disgrace her ancestors ”
” wetin eye no go see self for this school ”
” because she don see fine boy ,she wan use her papa mouth date him ”
” if na me this one happen to, I go do hunger strike for three weeks ”
they conversed and laughed mockingly in English pidgin language as they passed by as if they’ve been listen to our conversation all along .
” I’m going to show you who I am, I’ll repay this insult to you soon ” Peace threatened angrily as she stormed out of sight.
” who’s she ” I asked Aminat as we continued with our journey.
” she’s the daughter of the ex president, Mr Chator, who’s now serving as the president for the forum for all the ex president in the world ” she replied.
” wow, that’s why she’s full of herself” I said laughing.
” that’s how she always behave, feeling she’s above everyone, when they’re just living history” Aminat said joining me in laughing.
” when is Ella going to come back” I asked Aminat as we got to her hostel.
” I think next week, she want to spend more time with her mom” she replied me staring at me suspiciously.
” I’m just asking about her nah” I said scoffing when I notice the stare.
” I didn’t say anything” she said smiling.
” but your silent said it all, see you later” I said as I halt my movement when we were closed to her door.
” am I not beautiful enough” she suddenly asked me staring into my eye as she also halt her movement.
” what do you mean” I asked feigning ignorance towards her words.
” you know exactly what I meant Ben” she said excluding the title that was suppose to come before my name and it sounded odd because that was the first time she forgot to add it.
” this is the third time you’re bailing out in front of this door like you entering for just a second is going to cause an everlasting harm to you and you’ve been refusing my request to come visit you in the staff quarter ” she added looking pitiable
” you want me to go inside with you right” I asked her pretending to be oblivious of what she meant.
” nope, I want you to allow me come inside your heart ” she said looking more pitiful while the blanket of silent covered the two of us as we both stared at ourselves.
” Ben” I suddenly heard someone called me from behind.
I turned to look who it was and saw Nina, she looked like she ws going somewhere but stopped to get my attention.
” see you later ” I said, swiftly pecking her on her cheek beforefore I left her to join Nina.
” how are you doing” I asked her as I joined her where she was standing.
” I’m fine, good afternoon ” she replied me.
” afternoon , where are you heading to” I asked her.
” to your place” she said as she started heading towards the direction of the staff lodge.
” to do what, ain’t you suppose to be behind your desk” I asked swiftly catching up with her.
” I’m hungry and I stay behind the desk when I got something to do ” she replied me but then, I was checking behind to see if Aminat has gone inside.
” are you dating her” she asked as I was tilting my head back to the front.
” dating who” I swiftly asked feigning to be surprised with her question.
” don’t give me that look, you know who I’m talking about” she retorted with a grin.
” oh, you meant Aminat, I don’t date my student ” I said with enthusiasm portraying in my voice.
” do you mean it ” she asked excitedly.
” yeah, wait” I exclaimed stopping.
” why are you following me to my lodge” I asked her remembering that Snap was inside, probably with all his tools hacking into the school database.

” I’m so proud of you kiddo, never know you could complete the mission, take this” Goat said to me handing me a key which was attached to a key holder which looked like a small handset.
Then he walked me outside of the hotel he was lodge in.
He was asked to be my compass in the mission I just concluded, the mission was said to be more complicated for me and Snap to solve it by ourselves, so I my mentor was sent to me to help because we can’t be assisted by another agent. So as not to know ourselves like it has been from our training days.
” this baby is the best thing you’ve ever come across” goat said unveiling a double engine Jincheng power bike.
” you’re funny, I’ve come across bikes that are more dope than this” I said with a disappointment filled tone.
” wait for it” he said as he moved closer to the bike.
He collected the key from me and click on some keys on the keyholder looking phone.
The bike started by itself and started cycling us, he press another key on it and the bike’s tyre was covered by metal, another keys, and some tiny objects with sharp edge fell down beside the rear tyre.
” still gat more features in it, looks like you’ve seen bikes better than this” he said teasingly as the bike parked by itself.
” wow” I exclaimed
” thanks Goat” I added smiling.
” Goat” goat exclaimed.
” yeah, it means greatest of all time, you’re the greatest mentor and trainer of all time” I said with a grin embedded on my cheek.
” no need for you to say it, I know myself that I’m a goat” goat said boastfully and I bursted into laughter.
” you truly are” I said laughing more.
” let take this baby on a date” I said hopping the bike.
” wait kiddo” Goat said stopping me from going on my date.
” what’s it now ” I asked with a frustrated tone.
” I want to assign you a mission, but you can just view the mission as a way of stopping what happened to you ” he said gaining more of my attention.
” what’s the mission ” I asked staring into his eye .
” I want you to kill Toy” he said it loud and clear but I felt my ear was playing prank on me.
” kill who ” I asked lowly.
” Toy” he repeated.
” how and why should I kill him ” I asked getting down from the bike.
” Toy has the seal of Othranto ” he replied like I was suppose to magically know what the seal of Othranto means.
” what’s the seal of Othranto ” I asked him when it seems he wasn’t ready to tell me till I ask.
” the one with the seal of Othranto decide the last five challenge pairing and this occur by killing the carrier of it.
After Toy lost his lover then, when he was out on the field , he searched for Drago who I told him about , the carrier of the seal then and he was also my best friend , he murdered him to be the carrier of the seal and since then, he’s been the one pairing the last five challenge and in a way to see he isn’t the only one to suffer the same fate, he always watched the footage of all the training, the trainee has gone through to deduce those who’s fallen in love with themselves, thereby pairing them together ” he said pausing for a bit while I could already feel my blood boiling inside my vein.
” you losing P2 wasn’t the first and won’t be the last until he’s stopped and if anyone is capable of stopping, it’s none other than you.
He’s turned to a rabid dog that must be eliminated ” he added finally.
“” I know you won’t be telling me this without doing your own assignment first, so how am I going to locate and recognize him ” I asked as anger flood my vein and the memories of Precious death revisited me.
” Toy was fond of drawing toy gun on the wall when we brought him into the mask, it became part of him which he couldn’t reject as he grew up, on the completion of any challenge and taking his usual first position, he always draw the toy gun on the spot he completed the mission, he was always fast with the sketch that we didn’t took notice of it but after he became my student, I got to know this and warned him to deviate from it because the mask never leave a clue behind in a mission, but he’s gone beyond getting out of it.
On the field, whenever his mission involves murder, he always sketch a micro gun on the spot he kill his target except when it involves the use of Sniper, this I’ve found and told you, now do your own assignment and make me and P2 proud like today.
See you later in future ” he said swiftly placing a paper in my and left me before I could ask another question.
I looked at the paper and saw the sketch of a young cute guy but my hatred for him made me see a monster who I was soon going to eliminate.
BACK TO PRESENT
3 DAYS AGO AFTER MY EXIT FROM THE DAVID CASTLE
” I’ve found another toy gun” Snap said to me over the phone as I laid on my bed listening to music.
” where” I asked excitedly switching off the music I was listening to.
” in Kingsley house, the son of Mr Charles that died some days ago” I remembered him at once.
” I knew it, his death wasn’t of natural course, do you have any clue to how I can get him with the new found toy ” I asked Snap.
” yeah, coming over to your place now” he said hanging the call.
” I think he’s in this school or was in this school” Snap said to me after he satisfied himself with the chips and chicken he brought over when he was coming.
” why do you think so” I asked him.
” I hacked into the mask database for conversing of missions after I saw the toy gun, ? and his mission was to get close to Kingsley and further information will be passed to him, but I think he’s already around Kingsley before, because the mission didn’t entail many details like a fresh mission always do”
” maybe because he’s the best and doesn’t need to be lecture through a mission like they do to the rest of us” I said interrupting Snap.
” chill and listen ” he said in a command tone and I shot him a surprise glare but he didn’t seem to care about it.
” I went on a memory lane in the conversation database and I knew he’s been around him for long because his mission was to secure a job somewhere where he could easily monitor Kingsley and two other guys but I couldn’t get their names yet, so I think he’s working here as a staff and check this” he said handing me his phone.
I checked what was on it and return it to him.
” I don’t think he’s working here, Mask is all about looks and intellect, and I don’t think anyone except me possess such in this school” I told him boastfully.
” and I know what he look like, so I’m sure he’s not here because I’ve seen the pictures of everyone working here” I added.
” you’re mistaken, looks can be deceiving, I’ve strong instinct that he’s working here” Snap said switching his notepad on.
” all you just have to grant me is five days and I’m sure we’ll be able to locate him this time since the last three years, this is the closest we’ve been towards gaining on him. ” he said swiftly clicking on the keyboard of his notepad.
” five days I give you, but we’re going to set boundaries for the five days” I said standing up from where I was seated.
” I know that the first is not to touch your clothes and don’t worry, my clothes are getting here soon” he said laughing.
I only snort as I left him and went into my room to prepare for the next day lecture.
Sooner, even before evening, he’s already turned my always neat sitting room into a garbage for different types of gadgets.
Only God knows how he brought all in because he didn’t leave after his entry into my room.
My TV has been turned into a CCTV monitoring center as he watched closely all activities occurring in the school by hacking into all the CCTV in the school and placing some of his in areas not covered by the school own.
All my complaint for him to make the sitting room look like a normal human being own fell on deaf ear as he was really engrossed in catching Toy and I was also wishing he does so I can serve Toy a real warm cup of Tea, a good gift for Precious who’s in hade.
” no I don’t have anything edible in my lodge” I said halting my movement.
” you don’t mean it, the staff lodge’s provision was supposed to be distributed yesterday nah, did this people forget to bring yours” she asked rhetorically in a frustrating tone.
” don’t know but I got none” I said smiling inwardly because I could remember vividly that I received the provision yesterday and even took it all inside myself because I couldn’t risk them finding out what Snap was doing.
” oops, I’m going to reprimand them later, let go and get something to eat inside Mr Biggs” she said changing her direction from the staff lodge.
I wanted to decline but I suddenly remembered that the person who should know about every staffs in the school is none other than Nina so I swiftly changed my mind and followed her.
I discovered that she wasn’t hungry after we’ve ordered what we want and started eating. She only ordered for vanilla flavour Ice cream and a sausage roll while I order for fried rice, chicken and a pet of coke .
She almost didn’t touch it by the time I was through with my meal.
” did you enjoy the meal” she asked as I was cleaning my lip with the white serviette paper placed on my tray.
” it wasn’t bad” I replied her as I took a sip from the coke which was already in a cup.
” tho I think yours was bad” I added staring at her try which contained what she ordered.
” you’re funny, suddenly lost my appetite” she retorted.
” sorry, might be the stress of your work” I said with a concerned tone.
” you’re right, have to account for the locomotion of all the documents from the vice chancellor office everyday” she replied feigning to look tired.
” maybe when I get married, I’m going to resign and work in a place where I can get more rest” she added smiling which I also join.
” it must have been real stressful, heard you even handle the data of all the staff working in the school with your crew” I swiftly chipped in to be sure if she’s really in charge of the files.
” you’re right, I always get my fingers cramped at every months end trying to make sure I every workers get their fees, typing on computers these days ain’t easy” she said massaging her fingers like she just finished operating her computer.
” wow, that means you know every staff here” I said with a tone that depict I was kinda proud of her job.
” you can say that. ” she said smiling heartily
” cool, want to ask you a question” I said taking another sip from the cup containing my coke.
” you’re free to” she replied me.
” have you ever seen any of your staff with a pendant that has the structure of a snake having on a mask” I asked her staring into her eye.
” a snake wearing a mask ” she exclaimed as she tried to hold her laughter but failed.
” that sounds like something that can only be seen in a movie” she said laughing.
” wait, I think I have seen something like that” she abruptly stopped laughing as she had on a serious countenance.
” with who” I asked as I took another sip from the coke trying to sound less exited.
” it’s ” she couldn’t complete her sentence as her phone rang.
” sorry,a minute ” she pleaded as she took her phone and accept the call as she placed the phone on her ear.
” hello, hello” she repeated as she place the phone on her ear.
” what’s this” she asked as she disengage the phone from her ear and checked the screen.
” what” I asked her.
” this” she said as she turned the phone screen to me to see what it was displaying.
A picture of a gun, more like a toy gun filled the screen of the phone.
” no” I screamed after few seconds of looking at it as I swiftly hit the phone from her hand, dragged her by her hand as I wanted to speed out of the restaurant with her not minding the fate of the remaining people there.
” what ” she exclaimed angrily as she pulled her hand from mine and wanted to go get the phone.
” don’t” I screamed as I swiftly flew over the table separating us but it was too late as she already picked the phone.
I watched as it exploded in her hand and exploded her head, I swiftly wanted to make the run for it but the force from the explosion pushed me away with force that I hit my head hard on the pillar behind me and I passed out at once.
